whatver his reasons, to me it seems a very disheartning and even ungrateful for the brillaint oppertunity he had and the fame it gave him.
I like you want to hear from him that this role was the one which bought himn the film and recognition in the industry and what he learny in the 18 months which he is trying to downplay..
Folks who will go to see his movie are the people who know him as Asr and not sure about Shravan fans.

We should see the interview from his POV because he has frankly answered what he felt and we shouldnt forget that he is a human and has his own preferences.

He has said many times before that ASR is a character which he doesnt associate himself much ..for the rudeness , arrogance and attitude and he has always said Shravans character he has always liked becase he is more like that so in that sense if he says:

if I had to pick one, I would pick Shravan's character from Baat Humaari Pakki Hai

so whats wrong if he likes that character ...why do we fans expect him to answer acc to what we like to hear.

And we shouldnt forget that he has gone through a horrible experience at the time IPK closed down ..so see it from his POV..if suppose when I have to leave a company and the last days are made horrible for me I would always say I liked my prev job though the present one gave me a lot to take back...its about how you feel but here he has not denied that he has got lot of love from IPK.

Towards the end the show was a pain to watch even with hugs and kisses thrown in. At this point I could just imagine what torture the actor must be going through. Hope this sheer bundle of talent can quench his thirst and satisfy our crave with his versatility as different roles in days to come. Thank you for gracing the forum after being a silent reader for so long.
The whole fiasco experience has been a blessing in disguise in some ways. He has learnt the ways of this messy world and matured prematurely.

You are absolutely right; in the beginning when the writing and direction was crisp every single screen was a pleasure to watch. By mid last year most were just watching in the hope that the initial magic will come back. Yes there were flashes of brilliance but on the whole the show definitely lost its edge. A lot of the audience cribbed all the time about it and about what the characters were reduced to. Just because the actor comes out and says that it was no longer challenging after a while does not mean he did not give it his best and did not do a wonderful job of it.
About bold, that is exactly what i feel as well, it almost seems like the happy go lucky almost kid has grown up.

@AliaS
Agreed. Despite their mutated forms and disappointing storyline, Arhi managed to keep us hooked till the end. This was possible only because the actors were so deeply attached to the characters and the show.

brilliant post dear...yes we all understand and are proud of barun as he decided to walk out before it got more stale ... he has every right to choose his career options..I am glad that he has that creative hunger...where as most of actors just look for money..he also looks for growth..

I just wanna say viewers wouldn't have connected to ASR if any other lesser actor would have played it.Barun simply nailed the character though his off screen persona is very much different rather I say complete opposite compared to ASR.

I have been watching the other two shows which has the same angry young man character but none of the actors impressed me as Barun did.One struggles to act while the other failed drastically in performing emotional scenes

By the way wonderful post dear 👏

Yes i am sure that most people who go to see his movie will be those who loved him as ASR; infact both PH's of the movies have said that they saw him in IPK and selected him. Same way the IPK team probably probably selected him because they saw his acting capabilities in Baat.
I just feel it is unfair to have such high expectations of an actor that if in any way his statement disappoints us we are ready to jump down his throat and call him arrogant/ ungrateful and forget his hard work and talent that entertained us for so long.
Ever heard of a scenario when expectations from something become so high that a person prefers not to associate further with it. If you read Barun's recent interviews there is a very distinct feeling that he was under a lot of pressure to stay with the show, to do what was expected of him, to stay under the ASR aura forever. He chooses to do differently and i can respect and accept that.
Through his 18 month association with IPK he has many times acknowledged the team, the writers, the off-screen bonding, the appreciation from fans as well as the great time he had on the show, which i think clearly shows what IPK means to him. Anyone would be a little bitter after the way things have played out due to the show closure which he did not want or anticipate, i'm sure as time heals his hurt he will be more verbal in his appreciation of ASR.

Well said, but I think he has never been hesitant to appreciate ASR. He has always been appreciative of this role, but when asked he selected BHPH because it gave him a break and a way to ASR, so definitely i don't feel anything bad in that. I felt from his talk that ASR is very close to his heart. All these depend on how we perceive things.

From the beginning itself, he has always given the full credits of ASR character to the writers, it does not mean he is disowning the character. He said he just tried to do justice to what is written, so the whole beauty of the character lies the way it is written. Being a modest person, we can expect this only from him, otherwise we all know how much hardwork he might have put in this.

Thank you all for such a bumper and positive response to my first post😃.

I just heard part 2 of the Gul- Sanaya interview; i adore this girl; she is ever positive and ever radiant. Plus i loved her advice that everyone should remember the positives and the smiles the team shared and brought to millions across the globe and wish the team the best in their future. Thank you Sanaya and all the best to you.

But Gul found it necessary to bring up the controversy again and even dragged Sanaya into the discussion. This just made me think that Barun too if he wanted could have played the blame game; he could have pointed fingers too, he could have clarified that he gave sufficient notice, fulfilled all the necessary professional requirements of his contract and that he met with SP and the PH several times but they all could not reach a unanimous decision. But he chose to be the bigger man here, to once again complement the writers on a job well done and to maintain a dignified silence and not indulge further in the blame game. Thank you once again Barun and i wish you nothing but happiness and success always.
