You're so right Maverick- and the issue is, sadly, all those who feel the remorse scene was 'underdone' will now be labelled as 'bashers' and 'people who can never be happy'.
All I would like to tell the Creatives is this: With this scene, you've made it amply clear, that you just penciled it in after seeing the extent of outrage over the crappy "ASR's unique redemption in his own way" track. But since you anyway decided to do a belated damage control, why did you not give the scene the emotional heft and importance it deserved?
Look at some of the powerful FFs on this forum which are based partly on the show, but have Arnav realizing the enormity of his misdeeds. He doesn't turn into a sniveling, groveling Devdas to express his contrition. But still, there is a powerful, heartfelt sense of redemption and remorse in his realization.
If fans who pursue other occupations as their main calling, could come up with such gems, why couldn't the professional script and screenplay writers? Fine, the TV serial format means that they have to stretch the story for more melodrama; but at the end of the day, they're dealing with human emotions and couple/ family dynamics, right? Why portray something so unrealistically?
I'm thankful that at least they put in those 3 minutes worth of an apology..they managed to belatedly stem the feeling, that ASR was nothing more than a delusional jerk with the emotional maturity of a toddler! But my personal opinion is, that this still ain't redemption enough...Won't be, unless Arnav comes fully clean to both the families as to why and how he forced Khushi into the sham marriage in the first place.
I agree that it was anyway in Khushi's nature to forgive him so soon. That's the way she's been shown from the start, that she doesn't hold grudges. But definitely, I would have liked her to verbalize that Yes, He hurt her horribly with his lack of trust in her, and in future, she hopes that he would never misunderstand her. That she would expect him to ask her for her side of the story before jumping to conclusions. In my opinion, this would have lent some more depth to the scene.
On a slightly sadistic note- Khushi got slapped twice owing to Arnav's actions- shouldn't Arnav get slapped twice to even the score? (Perhaps Nani and Anjali could have a go, one each- or maybe Nani and Buaji??) 😉 This last para is meant as a joke people, so don't attack me!
