The meeting of two lovers that we were all waiting for finally arrived!! The current state of the forum is enough proof of just how much we were looking forward to this moment, probably more than Khushi-Arnav themselves 😆
"Iss pyaar main sahi aur galat ka koi matlab nahin" - was written all over Arnav's face as he saw Khushi, not as a mirage this time, but for real! The love in their eyes, tears and touch is all that was needed to establish the invisible bond between them. A bond where there was no misunderstandings, no guilt, no anger, no pain, no hurt, no agony and no ego, only love emblazoned in their bond.
"Humne aapko dhoond liya" says Khushi... Arnav nods in response and agrees with gladness in his voice, "Haan tumne mujhe dhoond liya!" He was a lonely soul all his life, and the past week drove the loneliness further - memories of him hurting Khushi deepened the impact of anger he felt with himself. But now here she was, in front of him, she had come to find him, she was only worried about him, each of her tears had his name in them, she had accepted him in her life and he knew it.
When it comes to IPKKND, I just lose all sense of logic in emotional scenes, after all, when has love ever been logical? If you view a love scene with prejudice, background knowledge, and scepticism you may just fail to absorb the magic of the scene! As far as I know, it's best to leave your brains behind when there's a love scene enacted. Trust me, the first time I view the episode I view it for pure entertainment - my brains are nowhere in sight, the second time is to decode/analyze the episode... and there's a sizable difference in my outlook after both times. It's up to you how you would like to watch the show.
I was extremely nervous whilst watching this episode as I wasn't sure what to expect - and I hear what some of you are saying; And I completely agree from a story telling point of view - That is to say, no matter how much I love the Arhi couple, I won't be left completely satisfied until they toil towards reconciling past grievances which we as viewers also had to suffer through their prolonged MU phase - in my opinion, it's still far from being given closure, unless of course the CVs have completely ditched this angle, which really doesn't make any sense. Yes, they might decide to work their way back words, where realisations of past mistakes are captured in fragments, and various shared moments - but so be it. It's better than nothing in my opinion.
BUT, and that's a BIG BUT - (I completely agree with you Nia), if one were to watch this episode for what it is, and that is a shared moment between a couple who have spent days apart, isolated, and trodden with guilt, left with nothing but feelings of loneliness and despair, then the intensity of this moment was captured beautifully. I thought their chemistry during this scene was undeniable. Suppressed feelings of relief, love and affection were all evident in that moment, and were captured without the pressures of the MU. (Personal monologues, more so from Arnav's end, would have worked wonders here!)
And you're absolutely right Tanthya - it was a very mature handling of their love, showing their undeniable affection for one another. The moment they saw each other through the gridded window, was brilliantly executed, the impact was sudden - but it worked I felt. Just like the emotions that came pouring out, there was no questions asked, no confusion as to each others presence, but complete acceptance of each others feelings - basking in their longing for one another.
The dialogue, though in some ways forced, I felt worked, as it was kept very much in line with the characters. So that I can overlook; and again, I think it's Sarun's acting that allows me to overlook certain faults, because they can pull off shared passion like no other! Their sincerity is just so believable, regardless of what they have had to suffer during the MU track. Though it would have been nice to see a continuation of the ASR attitude which left many hearts racing at the end of the previous episode, it was good to see this passionate side of Arnav as well; His concern for Khushi and her safety was heart warming. And I just loved how he revised his tone of voice when talking to her, clearly not wanting to hurt her feelings or push her away. It reminded me of the time when he assured Khushi that he would talk to maami about Akaash and Payal - even then, he tried ever so hard to keep his anger under control. Hats off to Barun for being able to portray these consistent changes in Arnav's character - Superb acting!
I also loved how over protective he was - a nice touch of humour there coming from Khushi. She had clearly missed his haughty ASR attitude and the raised voice that comes with it, along with the rest of us viewers - nice way of welcoming him back onto the show! 😆
Initially, I had many questions surrounding reasoning and logic, which prevented me from enjoying their shared moment. In fact, the scene when they first saw each other and had their rabba ve moment, I was annoyed that his initial reaction wasn't "what the hell are you doing here/how did you find me etc (along those lines); And when he did eventually get round to asking those questions, I was compelled to roll my eyes at the seemingly delayed reaction - lol it was as if the CVs had a light bulb moment and thought shoot - Arnav should be asking how on earth she found out about his whereabouts and kidnapping when he clearly told her he was safe and out the country! But when I watched it a second time, I was able to appreciate their spur of the moment reactions a lot more. And it made me think, that perhaps the best way to move the track forward is by working back words. Maybe they'll consider giving us redemption, regret and personal reflection over a stretch of shared moments, rather than dealing with it in one go. But for the moment, it seems their nafrat has taken a backseat, and their love has brought them back together - so let's just enjoy the show and see where it takes us!
Personally, I think the only way I was able to fully appreciate this episode, is by resigning myself to the fact that they have most definitely moved on to the next phase in their relationship; even though it seems as if there is still a gap in their relationship - somewhere between the time when their love was still growing and the start of the MU - but oh well. But equally, I think had it not been for Sarun's acting then I would not have been able to deal with the way in which their relationship had evolved, as the transition itself was far from smooth! Alas, what's done is done. But now I find myself looking forward to this new stage of their relationship, where the lines between nafrat and mohabbat are once again left blurred, until the a new revelation comes to light. I can't wait to see what happens once they return home and take their positions on the battlefield once again! Should be an interesting track!
Plus, seeing how they messed up, I think this was a good way of brining it back, especially since declarations of love have already been made and what not. In fact the ending left me with much hope that Khushi will continue using more of that dimaag and will perhaps ask the right questions with regards to his ILU over the phone - which will pave the way for clearing what's left of the misunderstanding! It seems a lot of people predicted correctly when they stated that Arnav's declaration will alert Khushi of his troubled condition, and not necessarily his true feelings!
Kudos to all those who continue to WOW me with their delightful insights! 😊
Slam Dunk Episode
First things First.. Sequence is important... Or else we will lose perception..I saw today's episode in bits and pieces because of time constraint and concluded that it was not what I was looking for.. And was on and on with reduxians ranting and raving. After watching in the same sequence as exactly the director conceptualized I totally got it. One word Slam dunk
"To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you may be the world."
The pain the agony the two lovers had been through. And the moment they catch a glimpse of each other. What must be that feeling. It must be heavenly. Exactly how a thirsty traveler might feel in desert upon finding an oasis, A lost hiker in woods might feel when finding the path he was looking for, a crying baby might feel when his mother pampers him with kisses, a migrating bird might feel upon reaching the destination. How can mere words describe that feeling. It is something that has to be experienced. Its really hard to put in words about such episodes. If you have had a similar experience you can draw a leaf from your own life.
I recently heard a story about a husband and wife. They will decide to climb a mountain each of them starting from the base and from opposite end and to meet on the top of the mountain. Mid way through the ascent the man decides to give up because of the difficulty. Just when he will be thinking of descending a bird flew by chrips in his ears "Don't give up friend, your wife is eagerly waiting for you on the mountain top". Few hours later when the wife decides to call it quits, the bird chirps in her ears "Don't give up my friend you love is waiting for you on the mountain top". Step by step their love sustained and both reached the mountain top. They did conquer the love. For it was the mountain of love they were conquering. Likewise Arnav and Khushi will reach the mountain top. Their love has to undergo some more stress tests. They are not yet there. But they will be there eventually.
Sanaya was mind blowing today. You rock girl!!
