Wonderful perspective and characterization of ASR. No one is either white or black, it is shades between these two colors. ASR is both and I don't want him to change completely into arnav. ASR is who we fell in love with and so did Khushi.. She would be bored to death with arnav 24/7. They like to fight and challenge each other. When the MU is all over and things have been ironed out, Khushi and ASR will still be fighting about something. ASR will still be saying, Khushi, what the!!!!! My POV only.

ASR is just human, perfectly said Fari!
Today and the precap has reminded us of this and hopefully it leaves Khushi thinking and reconsidering.

The character sketches we fell in love with are being revived slowly, slowly - last week we saw a hint of the KKG we loved and today we saw more of the ASR we all crave for - hoping the CVs keep this up!

He is cold, ruthless, self-centered at times and we define him as grey. But he is caring, concerned, and respectful not only towards his di but also to middle class in-laws to whom he is bound by just a contract.

He has made grave mistakes, a lot of them. He is outwardly snobbish he and speaks of class and social status.

He inflicts pain but he also feels pain of loss, hurt and suffering.

Does he really need to be redeemed? Doesn't he already have enough qualities that redeem him?

If none of us are perfect, then we all are flawed and grey. Then why is ASR defined as an anti-hero or a grey character who will eventually be redeemed?

PS : this is not a comparison post. It is something that just struck me.

What is appealing about him is his openness about who he is, he does not put up a pretense, what he is, he shows to the world without restraint, without shame. Today he might have just taken the mug from Khushi and completed his bath on his own and that wouldnt have surprised me. (Throughout the scene all i could think of was how thoroughly unsatisfying that bath was after exercise)

There will hardly be some people who are not grey, and as you rightly said we all are flawed. To some our flaws are apparent and to some not.

As far as redemption is concerned, in an ideal world where people can be really empathetic they may let go of it, for ASR acted out of what he SAW as the truth and can he really be blamed for that? A lot of times I have reacted wrongly to a wrongly perceived situation to realise later on the error I made. However, I feel redemption is written on the cards.

Well said Fari...👏

I don't know about redemption but we did see in the past that when he was wrong and realized it, he did apologize. It might have been hard for him to do so but he did it because he is principled that way.

The layers to ASR's character are being revealed one by one and it is just a pleasure to watch him ...such a complex man on the outside yet a simple one on the inside.

I LOVES HIM THE WAY HE IS. U ARE WHT UR PAST MAKES U N U SEE UR FUTURE ACCORDINGLY. HE IS GREY AT TIME BUT HIS INTENTION ARE NOT BAD. SO HW CAN WE SAY HE NEEDS TO BE REDEEMED? IF HE DOES KHUSHI TO NEEDS 2 REDEEM AS HER LIES CREATED THIS MESS. SO BOTH R AT FAULT .

Does he need to redeem himself- Yes and No. In the sense I've always felt love was unconditional and so both Arnav and Khshi should accept each other for what they are flaws included. But to do that they need to be in love and I don't think they are there yet. So to get there they both have to change a little, not for each other but because of each other.

The fact that he's grey is what makes him look realistic. The show and it's characters are often called larger than life but ASR is somehow very close to reality in a lot of ways.

I agree...if they keep this current track up, ASR won't need any redemption at all...he's already gained my and half the audience's sympathy. Most of us can't remember the horrible stuff he did at the beginning of the marriage because he's being so sweet now. This is why the redemption track will fall flat on their faces unless they make drastic changes and show ASR really hurting Khushi badly. Otherwise the redemption track won't work, it will have no impact.

I am honestly a little worried about this redemption track. We still don't how things will shape up.I just hope the cvs handle is sensitively.

He will go through a redemption so he can look himself in the mirror - first and foremost. If he is seeking forgiveness - another ballgame.

Yes Anu, he needs to be redeemed in his own eyes.

perhaps becuase we don't hurt in extremes and regret in extremes. we give bearable pain which can be healed and we make bearable errors that an be reversed. ASR's extremity in everything makes him dark, plus asr's refusal to get onfined to any norms
