He is cold, ruthless, self-centered at times and we define him as grey. But he is caring, concerned, and respectful not only towards his di but also to middle class in-laws to whom he is bound by just a contract.
He has made grave mistakes, a lot of them. He is outwardly snobbish he and speaks of class and social status.
He inflicts pain but he also feels pain of loss, hurt and suffering.
Does he really need to be redeemed? Doesn't he already have enough qualities that redeem him?
If none of us are perfect, then we all are flawed and grey. Then why is ASR defined as an anti-hero or a grey character who will eventually be redeemed?
PS : this is not a comparison post. It is something that just struck me.
I LOVES HIM THE WAY HE IS. U ARE WHT UR PAST MAKES U N U SEE UR FUTURE ACCORDINGLY. HE IS GREY AT TIME BUT HIS INTENTION ARE NOT BAD. SO HW CAN WE SAY HE NEEDS TO BE REDEEMED? IF HE DOES KHUSHI TO NEEDS 2 REDEEM AS HER LIES CREATED THIS MESS. SO BOTH R AT FAULT .

He is such a grey character but that's his biggest appeal isn't it? I mean for me at least it was this-arrogant, rude, but at the same time caring nature for his family and not mention a little shy -manwho blew me over... I love ASR in all his grey glory... And grey/ human same difference right?
Does he need to redeem himself- Yes and No. In the sense I've always felt love was unconditional and so both Arnav and Khshi should accept each other for what they are flaws included. But to do that they need to be in love and I don't think they are there yet. So to get there they both have to change a little, not for each other but because of each other.

Ah, okay got it 😊I agree...if they keep this current track up, ASR won't need any redemption at all...he's already gained my and half the audience's sympathy. Most of us can't remember the horrible stuff he did at the beginning of the marriage because he's being so sweet now. This is why the redemption track will fall flat on their faces unless they make drastic changes and show ASR really hurting Khushi badly. Otherwise the redemption track won't work, it will have no impact.

He needs to be redeemed in his own eyes. The feeling of guilt, of having wronged an innocent has never settled well with ASR, and that is why he will right it. He will go through a redemption so he can look himself in the mirror - first and foremost. If he is seeking forgiveness - another ballgame.
