Like in the dinner/lunch today, he felt bad that they had to pay for it.. He did think of their choices- though if he brought them indian, it would have been better, but he thinks, he repents and he shows pain.

I think he's like the only hero on SP that I can clearly say, yes, this is somewhat like me, not the cold part, but the human part of him.

Awesome post!

Thanks Jenny !!

i liked ur post...i think he's called a shade of grey and anti-hero because he's not shown to be the romantic hero most people expect from dramas and movies...like how u said..he's harsh and cruel, but he cares...he just doesn't know how to show it...he's misleaded by his painful past which causes him to have trust issues...if the story was turned around...he can almost be the villain :P

After one by one his layers are peeling..ofcourse he is opening up..showing all his care and love that he hide for long..
But I deeply feel khushi has a big role in it..because anjli even did not bring this change..
ultimately credit goes to him..to have this tremendous transformation..

Interesting take Shashtra...I never thought of him as dark. He is grey and he was dark shade of grey but not completely dark.

Khushi has a great role in role in peeling of the layers and yes you're right Anjali did not bring this change.

She knew her chote was hidden beneath the mask of ASR and she made do with that.

Wonderful perspective and characterization of ASR. No one is either white or black, it is shades between these two colors. ASR is both and I don't want him to change completely into arnav. ASR is who we fell in love with and so did Khushi.. She would be bored to death with arnav 24/7. They like to fight and challenge each other. When the MU is all over and things have been ironed out, Khushi and ASR will still be fighting about something. ASR will still be saying, Khushi, what the!!!!! My POV only.

Yes punkin, some of ASR's characteristics must be retained. Otherwise he will become bland. Thank you.

He is cold, ruthless, self-centered at times and we define him as grey. But he is caring, concerned, and respectful not only towards his di but also to middle class in-laws to whom he is bound by just a contract.

He has made grave mistakes, a lot of them. He is outwardly snobbish he and speaks of class and social status.

He inflicts pain but he also feels pain of loss, hurt and suffering.

Does he really need to be redeemed? Doesn't he already have enough qualities that redeem him?

If none of us are perfect, then we all are flawed and grey. Then why is ASR defined as an anti-hero or a grey character who will eventually be redeemed?

PS : this is not a comparison post. It is something that just struck me.

wow what a LOvely post and such good observations!!!👏
@ Black: I totally wanna say NO..he doesn;t need to be redeemed..because every person has good/bad qualities and that is what makes it "Real" "Natural" he is Natural..he is infact very realistic character..he has anger, he has ego, he has emotional side, he has fear of loosing his loved ones, he is insecure at times, he hides his feelings, he try to hide under a shell...at times..burst out in Anger...complains...(when he is alone) he cries...he becomes that "chote" infront of his sister..when he sees fear of loosing her forever...it's so natural...he is natural real character..and there is NO requirement of changing him..and why would one call him Grey or AntiHero????? he doesn't have any qualities which i can state as AntiHero..i see Greyish...but i don't see anything "Anti" in him...he doesn't enjoy pain...he suffers too when he gives pain...he is not wrong...he is innocent...and to the level of a child...he is child like..

I said dark in terms of ...he never shares his feelings..he has locked his heart..he takes his decision without thinking anyone ..i am talking about frist few months...
Little by little it became grey as we saw khushi/light in his life...
Now he is completely exposed...but his dark past has hidden in his heart occupying little space..that too wil be out soon😃

Today and the precap has reminded us of this and hopefully it leaves Khushi thinking and reconsidering.

The character sketches we fell in love with are being revived slowly, slowly - last week we saw a hint of the KKG we loved and today we saw more of the ASR we all crave for - hoping the CVs keep this up!

Thanks Ouma.

It was great to see a glimpse of the KKG we love...the one who was touched by his gesture. The one who sees beneath the mask of ASR.

(Throughout the scene all i could think of was how thoroughly unsatisfying that bath was after exercise)

There will hardly be some people who are not grey, and as you rightly said we all are flawed. To some our flaws are apparent and to some not.

As far as redemption is concerned, in an ideal world where people can be really empathetic they may let go of it, for ASR acted out of what he SAW as the truth and can he really be blamed for that? A lot of times I have reacted wrongly to a wrongly perceived situation to realise later on the error I made. However, I feel redemption is written on the cards.

Yes redemption is definitely on the cards but as Momma1128 said, he needs to redeem himself in his own eyes for having wronged an innocent girl.

@ Suha - The complexity and the layers is what makes him interesting.

@ music1 - well said.

@ Shashtra - can't wait for it all to come out. 😊
