Humans are all grey lol... Find me one person on the planet today who is not flawed😆

Arnav is human and so is Khushi, so they're bound to make mistkes.

Both of them have made mistakes.
ASR by never demanding an explanation from after witnessing the terrace incident.
Khushi by hiding the truth of Shyam.
Both needs to understand the gravity of their mistakes.
But Khushi didn't lie. She hid the truth and there is a difference.

He hurts in extreme but he regrets in extreme too. Doesn't that balance it out?
I am not justifying his behaviour but if his errors can't be reversed that how will Khushi ever forgive him ?

I don't think extremity makes him dark. He would have been dark if he was extreme in just one way.

Refusing to get confined to any norms makes him a nonconformist and not dark.

He is grey..and there is nothing wrong with it..as grey characters are meant to convert into white..but Doesn't have to always be that way...there are many characters who have not turned completely white and still loved by the lady...and khushi can love him too...it's not a requirement..
as far as redemption is concern..i don't see a need of one..

@Fari: Nice Post...

To me, ASR always looked realistic character.. The experiences in his life made him the hard hearted man, he appears - but one that has the grand and gold heart.. He is as soft as the next person, but purposefully uses the grey shades to fend off the world - many of us do that too (hence human) - but in his case a bit extreme - (hence the grey)- for he firmly believes they are the ones needed to deal with life... But when the extreme bit(grey) has hurt an innocent person and ASR comes to know of it.. he will certainly set his own course to make up.. or redeem.. This is again how he is made up...

well that is my definition of dark. characters like othello, hamlet, etc. cared too much and that made them do big mistakes. but if you see mcbeth he made mistakes but he cared two hoots about it. that makes him a villian like shyam.
so asr's deeply emotional and irrationally intense which sends him to the brink of darkness.
when he doesn't confirm to norms like chivalrry, caring for the feelligs of the society or family (sometimes he does. i don't want this to be bashing. just an explanation) he again goes beyond the regular guy and tends to move towards the darker area

He is an anti-hero in the fictional sense. But that is what surprises as anti-hero's are the closest to reality.

Beautiful post! I see your point of view but I feel that he has to redeem himself for not giving khushi a chance to justify herself. Apart from that..yes he cares for his in-laws...yes he feels the pain but he needs to make up for the pain he has inflicted on Khushi.

Obviously no one is perfect...but there are some mistakes that you need to apologize for no matter how perfect you are.

with ASR...at time he's absolutely perfect..loving...caring..concerned...but at the same time...it doesnt make up for the bitter words and actions towards an innocent girl whose dreams he has crushed (even if he has done it unknowingly.) there is an apology in order.

I think that everyone has a grey shadow, and Arnav is a man.
I think that girls stand for calm and silent and men stand for strong and mature. (Well, in reality we know that girls and men are not like that). Arnav is a great example of a matured man. He has alot of shadows and that's what we have been seen since the first day of this show.
