Yaar There is a type of type 2 diabetes known as Maturity onset diabetes of the young (MODY).It occurs before 40 yrs of age.According to me Arnav's diabetes resembled that one.

I'm a first year medical student, and I noticed all of that as well. I don't watch IPKKND regularly, so I hadn't realised that he supoosedly takes pills for his diabetes, though I did consider that he may have Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young (MODY) as some other people have also suggested. However, even then, the nature of the way he was portrayed to have fainted didn't seem right to me in anyway.
I suppose we're just just expected to give the makers of the show some 'poetic licence,' because although it would be great to make the show more realistic, this is Tellywood...where we do just have to overlook these things sometimes. 😊

Good post...Poori's and paratha's are not to be eaten on a regular basis by diabetics...But in RM house thats the kind of food Arnav eats all the time...

I posted on this exact same topic a few days ago too (Blooper that takes the sugarfree cake) 😃 My biggest concern was the fact that wrong information was being given to the masses. Some people would argue that TV shows have no obligation to show correct medical information (ummm..excuse me??!!) I am a physician and also have a family of diabetics...so its particularly disturbing to see that a show that is watched by so many people, is repeatedly showing the wrong information (diametrically opposite to facts)...oh well, like all other bloopers...I suppose we will live with this one too...

Also, MODY (maturity onset diabetes of the young) is rare accounting for like 1-5% of cases of diabetes...so again, if exception is the rule then sure our Arnav Bitwa may fall in the 1-5% category and may have MODY, the fact remains though that their definition of what causes hypoglycemia is kinda screwed up...maybe Arnav was delirious from low blood sugars and asking for medicines instead of sugar 😃😃...and Anji has no freakin idea of what to do anyway...she is so oblivious in her make believe world all the time anywa, so thank your lucky stars for Khushi my boy or you'd be passed on not just passed out...

if the creatives of the show read what we are discussing...type 1, type2, mody etc etc... i dont think they will even understand one word of it...because I think most of them would be school drop outs or would have studied for the sake of it...so forget it
on the brighter note...see how these people have us hooked on us intelligent doctors/ pharmasists and many more to this stupid stupid show...so they are the winners.

This is soo strange becuase my mum (who is a doc) said the EXACT same thing to me whilst we were watching the episode!
I don't know much about diabetes but I'm still quite annoyed at them!
Gawd, CVs get your facts right...and get a brain whilst you're on it!
