I too young for this, but being a Biology student I have some fair knowledge of Diabetes, and I do agree with you, however I have this friend of mine in my class, who is just as old as I am, even younger (14), and has daibetes, not by birth, but only recently she got infected with the disease. She does not have any obesity issues, so my question, could Arnav not have fallen in the same category? I mean I have seen her like him, passing out if she doesnt have food for a while, and we happen to give her something sweet too, to normalize her glucose level. Even she usually faints, because of nto taking her dosage of medicines. How do you connect that with Arnav then? Isnt it preety similiar that way?

I am a doc too and believe me much older than you. been a doc for 10yr after graduation... I have been thinking of making a similar post. the only way he will faint is if he takes his medication and doesn't eat in time that his blood sugar level goes down..

For his age he should be type 1 or insulin dependent diabetic. the only thing which was consistent was that when he lost his voice medication for allergy can affect his blood sugar.. May be by accident they said the right thing that steroids will increase the blood sugar if given for allergy..

Thanks for making this thread, was going to do it myself..

Fainting in diabetes happens due to low sugar and it happens when u don't eat in time and continue to take medication. 14yrs of age is actually a normal age to diagnose diabtes and she will be thin as people who have type 1 diabetes will be thin. The term type 1 means the pancreas which produces insulin is damaged due to autoimmunity.. that is our own bodies immune system act against the cells which produce insulin and this will result in no insulin and high sugar.. so these people will need insulin rather than medication..
Hope this helps

its actually common knowledge that when a diabetic feels giddy they need to take sugar asap...the cvs dont need any medical degree for that!!!

one more thing i find funny in serials is the way they show docs making house visits ..these days no doctor does that particularly specialists..unless they r close friends

Here in UK we still make house visits if patients are unwell, even in the middle of the night...

Much needed post.
I would just like to add one thing here - Type 2 Diabetes is also caused by stress and unhealthy life-style.
And not taking medicine on a timely basis can lead to blackouts.
Being a type 2 diabetic, I have faced a few blackouts myself.

Arnav has type 3 type of diabetes!!! 🤣

I have the prior knowledge of diabetes too, since I'm surrounded with soo many!! But thanks for pointing it out. . . . ⭐️
But I have heard that people can get hypoglycemic in the absence of treatment for diabetes. . .

But the type 1 and type 2 thing that you pointed out is very true!! 😃

i know one thing my cousins have Type 1 diabetes & they are not on Insulin..they control their sugar levels with the medicines..i don't think when someone has diabetes from a young age, Insulin injection is compulsory..medicines would do too & proper care should be taken..i know this because i have my very closest relative having type 1 diabetes..

i agree the way Arnav's medical condition is shown in the show, it has it's fair bit of glitches & inconsistencies..but then after all it is a show...shayad CV's didn't research properly on diabetes.. hehe...😆

I think it would've made more sense to show him fainting because he hasn't eaten anything rather than linking it to his diabetes. I have a completely different condition, but I have spells of fainting and dizziness whenever I don't eat properly.

from what I know a diabetic patient can not have juice as it's sugar content is way higher then having a fruit in natural form.

So good he did not drink juice and they should know show it.

Agree if he has type 1 diabetes then he should be taking insulin injections with blood thinner medication.

If they are showing this in way they will create awareness of this disease.
