I totally understand what you are trying to say. My mums diabetic and she wasn't understanding what happened to arnav and she said that they should get the facts straight because people can get offended.

II completely agree with your post. They always had been showing it wrong. Not taking pills will not make Arnav faint it should be the other way round.
Just to correct one fact that you mentioned,Type 2 diabetes need not be always due to obesity or weight. It could also be PCO induced or inherited. In this case you will never faint if you just have pills even if 1gm of Gloconom SR.I am a type2 diabetic and on insulin 3 times a day and used to be on pills earlier.I have fasted the whole day but never fainted while having pills but with insulin I need to carry food alongwith me always. One more thing is you should never give sweet to a diabetic even if has dizziness because it will push up his sugar levels suddenly leading to fluctuations which are harmful. The earlier concepts said that but now they ask you to take normal biscuits or fruis which have very light sugars.

Thanks for posting...I too noticed that the facts didn't add up. And don't feel old...I am well over 25...you are a baby! I am not a doctor but was a biology teacher and my husband had type 2 diabetes. I find that often on this show the writers don't bother to research the scientific facts. This is just one instance. Long back the thing about putting sugar in the gas tank was totally incorrect as gas tanks have filters to keep impurities from getting to the fuel injection...anyway, you would think they could pay someone to do a simple Google search to find out the real facts...but I love the show and the point was to show that Khushi was wrong and give her an excuse to tend to Arnav...so I guess we have to other look the mistakes...but details do count, don't they?

😊 so happy to see that other people were thinking about this too😊 Even though this is not a medical show, diabetes is so common that they shouldn't be making stupid mistakes like this.
On a side note, so cool to see so many med students, residents, doctors, and pharmacists on here😊 so next time my mom complains about spending too much time india-forums when I should be reading JAMA or other medical articles, I can be like I am not the only one who is hooked to this show😊
oh and ps-i don't feel so much of senior citizen now-thx guys😊

Maybe he has mature onset diabetes of the young (MODY) which can be managed with oral sulphonylurea drugs. It's a monogenic condition. Google it if you want more info. :)
