Sometimes I get writers telling me "Do not ever end at a cliffhanger. Ok. Fine. PM me next time you update." First of all, MY piece of writing, which gives ME the sole rights to end wherever the heck my heart desires.

Secondly, the lack of the word "please" really annoys me. When I was a child in kindergarten, one of the first things I was taught was: "There are four words that you must remember and use appropriately for the rest of your lives: Thank-you, sorry, excuse me, and please." & till date, I follow that. I am not really asking for a jewel if I expect you to add in a little "Please" when you request me to PM you next time around. You could also throw in a little "Thank you" if the writer made you happy with their writing.

Thirdly, I completely agree with you with regards to reading but not commenting/liking. Writers REALLY are doing this just for entertainment. We don't get paid for writing Fan Factions, we don't get awards from the show makers, we don't get called to write the next scene for IPKKND. We write because we believe it is appreciated by people.

Fourthly, I am not asking for an essay of a comment every single time. If you didn't like it, TELL ME! If you liked it but only a little bit, you can leave off a simple comment saying "Good one :)". If you REALLY liked it, shouldn't you make it obvious so I'll continue doing what I am doing?

And I couldn't agree more with your point that: "I can't be too busy if I have obviously put in 10 minutes to read the piece am I?" If you have enough time to go through numerous pages on IPKKND and FF forum PLUS time to read an update (most take about minimum 10 minutes), you surely have 5 seconds to click "Post reply" and another 55 seconds to leave a few words of encouragement.

If this is not enough, there are people who DEMAND certain kinds of writings. Writing is a creative activity. Just like you can't thrust a paintbrush and canvas in someone's hand and order "PAINT", you can't thrust a pen and paper (or keyboard of a laptop and word) in a writer's hand and say "WRITE SUCH AND SUCH." If you really honestly like a writer's style of writing and want to see them write something else, kindly request. If the writer can find the right words and can imagine things from your perspective, maybe they'll be kind enough to write. But there is NO excuse for demanding.

Now, just because I don't want to leave off on a sad note, I am honestly thankful to every reader who has commented on every FF (be it mine, yours or anybody else's). And this post does not mean I am going to send threatening emails saying "You're OFF my PM list unless you comment." It's just a matter of manners.

p.s. I am usually not this aggressive, actually never this mad. But all the criticism has made me walk to the edge.
