I do hit Like button whenever I read any FF/OS, and do comment.. it may be very short..I normally dont write long comment or analyse/predict.. But I make sure I posted comment, just to appreciate their hard work.. Anyway, nice poll..

The criticism I was referring to here were not criticisms to any of my writings but rather separate posts telling all writers that we are doing a bad job by going the way we do with our writings - in other words, making Arnav repent. I felt that was quite unappreciative of whichever writer the person had read.

I can't help but chuckle at how we get caught up in our emotions!😊 For a reader to be so moved to the point of 'calling out' on how a fictional character is depicted in a figment of someone else's imagination just goes to show the writer must be doing something right to evoke such sentiments!😆

It is the writer's prerogative how they depict a character; to your point about Arnav's repentance, why confuse fiction with fiction & get bent over it? If a writer chooses to make him repentant, & make Khushi stronger than she'll ever be shown on TV, so be it! Read & move on! I personally like writers who have touched upon this characterization in their works...It just helps me put the show in perspective & it reminds me why I watch this show. I am an ArHi fan first & foremost, but I want Khushi to have redemption, & I want ASR to atone. Dunno if I'll ever get to see it on TV, but your collective 'take' on what this may look like helps me a lot!

you know, maybe writers can just not PM folks? Just a thought.

I never asked you (Mary) to PM me for your FFs, but since I commented on almost each part, I'd just go to my inbox, and it would be one of the more recent ones. So I'd just check to see if it was updated since I last commented.

That's what I do for all FFs I read - not that I comment so I could keep track of it, but my commenting helps me track the FFs progress. So maybe you guys should just stop PMing altogether.

That way, you save your time and invest it in another FF (oh, we'd like that), and save yourself the heartache of parsing through your outbox looking for silent readers on your PM list. It would also save you the hassle of asking folks to comment.

Also, those who want to track the FF's progress would then HAVE to comment, to track it.

I comment on non-FF posts also, but for the most part the more recent posts are on the first few pages of hte inbox. So it's easy to track them.

Just a thought - incase it helps.

I didn't select any option, coz although I comment on most FFs I read, there are times I read 'em on my phone or at work and get distracted and am not able to finish them, and hence unable to comment. For those FFs, and writers, I humbly apologize. If I am ever able to remember the name of the FF, or the author, I do go back and minimally 'like' and drop a one liner. But my memory is one of the worst so it's usually tough to find what I was reading and had left mid-way.

I also wanted to say - don't be disheartened. I believe I mentioned once in another post - the writers work is appreciated very much on the forum. Specially when many are unhappy with the way the serial is shaping.

That said, write for YOUR pleasure. Folks SHOULD provide feedback, that's what ANY author wants. But if they don't - let it be. You like you work, you love what you do, and leave the rest.

I know it's easier said than done. And if I was on the other side of the fence, and actually wrote, I'd probably doing the same thing you're doing. But I just wanted you guys to know that your work is very appreciated. Many a times it's so much better than the actual serial's story. Plus, I've always believed that writing is always deeper than acting - we always let our imaginations fill in the missing pieces. Whereas what you watch on screen is it, in it's entirety. Writing, and reading is multi-dimensional.

Anyhoo - this got long. But know, your work is loved. All you writers out there - you do a great service to the forum, and for all of us. Folks may have time to comment, or they may not. They may not want to comment, may be too lazy to comment, etc. But they DO come back to read your work again and again - so you KNOW your work brings them back. It's that good.

Please keep entertaining us - you're the quasi-anonymous stars of this forum. Or rather, the producers and directors of your shows, where the stars are those of IPKKND.

Love,
-S

Sometimes I don't think I am witty enough to respond to some of the wonderful writings I see on IF. At other times my brain is dead from a long day, so I just want to read up on what others have written, and prepare myself for upcoming episodes of the week.

I have had to shed my habit of saying too many please's because of the society I live and work in, as it sounds too wussy - and then they say - no sorry, please or thank you in love or friendship 😊. As fans of this show, I consider you my friends.

But it is good you have expressed what you feel. I for one, will try to keep my mind alert, and respond to writings, and make sure I add a please when requesting PMs.

I really appreciate being able to read some of the wonderful writings in this forum, Thank you
😊

It is true however that is it voluntary and I had volunteered to stop writing but came back because of requests from some of my friends here at IF. I am not creative at all in the FFs that I write. I can do better but FF is just fun so I don't put in a lot of brain work. My work goes into it in terms of time only.

I really write to converse with the other viewers about the alternatives I provided for the viewers thought the FFs. If people read my writing and many do, I do demand comments because I want to talk to them. People who get stubborn and still refuse to comment think it is because I am looking for compliments which I am not. It is not because I am fishing for compliments. Sometimes I love the criticisms more because it gives us something to talk about. This is why I reply to all the responses that have thought. I can't really respond to just compliments and demands. It is because I want to talk about the alternatives I provided in the story. So by that logic, yes, I do insist on comments. I do feel that if people like reading my work they would write me something in return. It may not be the popular view but it is what I hold. Can't speak for the other writers.

I understand ur POV hun and frankly every writer likes comments (so do i).. but however there are a few (i wont take names) who threaten their readers to comment saying they want these many likes and these many comments or they wont get an update-- is that fair?? why should the other readers suffer because of some silent readers... ? Lately there was a post regarding the same issue by another writer
We expect comments- agreed.. but should we force it out by the way of threat..? that is the question😉

I admit I have done that but perhaps not in such strong terms. For me it kind of transfers over from a real life experience with publishing. Nowadays to be get published you already need a certain number of readers who will buy your book. So I was people to comment AND like, not just like cause I want to see enough interest.
