I loved what Lyraa99 & lilmzsunshine had to say about the whole thing.

Seriously why dont u guys{FF writers} stop PMing people. I sooo get wht an effort it is. Maybe u shd just send one PM at the beginning of ur story and if ur readers are serious about following it, they'll definitely show their appreciation by commenting.

I have never, ever asked for PM's and yet I follow around 6-8 FFs'. The only reason I may not write a comment is when I'm hard-pressed for time or when I feel I have nothing to say. I like the updates most of the time unless I really didnt like it😛.

The TM in the other post[which Lyraa linked to] had a point. And I'm also speaking from personal experience here...

This FF writer buddied me our of her own choice[please note I didnt mind] and then demand for x'' number of likes & 'y' pages of comments only after which she will update again. In the beginning I didnt mind the 'nudging' and I wd unhesitatingly comment bcoz she wrote well. She wrote around 15 chapters & then one day she got pulled up for plagarizing...can u imagine how I felt. All she did just was change the protagonists names to Arnav & khushi in the story for which she used to harass us so much for comments.

Another FF writer who on her own decided to buddy me followed the above procedure[not the plagarizing bit]. Every PM I received reflected her dissatisfaction abt the number of comments she receives[and she used to get atleast 15 pages of it but was never satisfied]. And it always ended with her THREATENING to unbuddy us. I KNOW THAT IT WAS NOT EVEN DIRECTED AT ME BECAUSE I HAVE COMMENTED on her work but it left a bad taste in the mouth. Finally I unbuddied her to end the torture.

Honestly I ask...do u really feel satisfied receiving comments which u have forced your audience to make???? I myself have profile on another platform and receive a lot of comments but I have never gone out of my way to get those comments. I mean...whts the point😳????

And finally I do hope u know this is not directed against U at all because I havent read ur work😊. You sounded genuinely puzzled and so I thought I'll tell u my perspective.

People whom I don't even know, typing in comments like "How dare you stop there!! Continue soon, woman!!" just p*sses me off so bad, I could actually PM them and ask them to remember the manners that were taught (Or in their case, untaught!! 😕) in the Kindergarten classes!!

@All - I dont know but I enjoy it when people go completely ballistic when I leave at a cliffhanger or something! Just gives me immense pleasure that my writing could rile them up so! :D

And I love their ideas etc even though I may not use it...because it shows they are involved.

However I do get irked when the comment is just "Update soon". Now THAT pisses me off. :s :/

Couldn't agree with you more, and have myself taken a huge dislike to people who post those selfish and demanding two words, in every chapter. "update soon"

As far as the criticism goes, I take it with a grain of salt, unless it steps over boundaries. One of my readers got a lovely blog post dedicated to her, because she told me what I SHOULD have done with my story, and that's where I draw the line. You can bash my characters (I have a lot of my own characters thrown into my stories), get annoyed with them, love them and all of that, it just shows how much of an impact the story is having on you, and how well I'm doing my job as a writer, but don't ever tell me how my story should go, or shouldn't go.

One thing is for sure, (and this is for all the young writers out there, who dare to take risks, yet feel bad when they're put down.) if you believe enough in your story, your readers will eventually believe it too... I learned that well with the FF I just completed, and it made me start to write it's sequel immediately. It's not mushy, or gushy and the leads spent most of the story apart instead of together... And, at the end of I don't know how many chapters, people still loved it. So, just keep writing and to hell with the rest.

Having said all that, I haven't been on IF in a while, and lost the link to your work, but I found it now, and will be stopping by to read (and comment) more often.

Keep up your great posts... I always love them.

You may not believe me but actually thought of you today Ann. I was wondering, what happened to senior writers here? Like HeadOverHeels who would have all the witty posts and FF pieces. When I came in new I would look at your posts and hope that mine would get as popular and then I started seeing you are not here as often and today I was missing you 😊

It probably has to do with life and how badly IPKKND has been doing, isn't it?

A compliment from you means a lot, thank you. You are one of the best writers here. Also definitely one with the most unique takes on the show. I miss those. There's so much to make fun of these days, you should do it if you have time. Some cynicism would be fun.
