"dada (brother) ki leela dada hi jane"
By precap, it looks like his father is not that angry,... NA wants Astha to get married with shlok so that her father will support him fr getting approvals.. or at least wont oppose him..

Thank u , purva!

Agree with everth u stated here! Niranjan is more like a horror book..u open it with the fear of being spooked !! Now lets sew whats avdhoot opinionon this!

Angie,

I am trying to pronounce "flamboyant" and its coming out like french 😆

Myra, trust you to make everything french.😆 Or maybe it is coming from French. But it is flam-boy-ant (the last syllable like that insect ant).

Actually i like shlokies style better than dead-silence daddy.. or behind the scenes as u call it..
Trust u to notice the editing..i didnt notice! Well, the editing was because suddenly from Shlokie dragging her, she was shown crying in her mother's arms. Now the parents knew that she disappeared and Shlok was going to look for her. So they never showed anything about Astha explaining her whereabouts to her parents.

But I too like Shlokie's style. Actually I like daddy's style too. He is like those mafia bosses who gives a cryptic command and the heir apparent follows it. He is Don Corleone of this Agnihotri clan - the same corrupt style and vindicative personality. When that woman was going on about the lost plot and Avdhoot was there, I felt as if he is just going to give orders to bury Avdhoot under some concrete.
Yup i love it when neeranjan says mera baccha.. dnt laugh but to me It sounds sweet like a grandpa would tease his gandkid.. I am not going to laugh because I too find it sweet the way he calls Shlok "mera baccha". It is both an endearment for him and also a way of manipulating Shlok. I don't think it is pure manipulation because he does love Shlok. Of course, I have a hard time imagining Niranjan as a sweet grandpa.

You are right, anjali doesnt know exactly what her kids want.. shes blinded by being in the good books of neeranjan..some times she has an expression of brainwashed! She is definitely brainwashed both by abuse and also does things in her need to please Niranjan. But she is also dense the way she behaves with her kids. Unless it is intentional to provoke Shlok, I fail to understand why she would keep on behaving this way with him when she knows very well that he reacts badly to her. But then it is the same she does with Sojal even after seeing that it turns off Varad - the only one besides Vinayak who gives her any sort of respect. Or maybe she can't help it as Sojal is her punching bag.
Liked ur obs about the kirloskars.. wonder how can they breath being so much time with their heads in the sand?!
Kirloskars are unbelievable the way they behave even after seeing Astha's weird behavior. Their daughter brings an expensive saree (something that can not be borrowed from a friend) and wears it to an important function and Kalindi is just mildly curious. Misti used the right phrase for them "closing the stable after the horse has bolted". The other day they were mad at Shlok for making Astha work so late even after she was almost raped. Now, who has not worked late hours even once in their career especially when it is a new job. Wouldn't the appropriate thing be to tell Astha to stay put if she was going to be late and that Avdhoot would pick her up. Instead they were berating Shlok and not taking any responsibility for taking care of Astha.

Couldnt agree more!! The only thing i truly liked in ashta was her hair! The sari a big No! I love Sojal style! so i agree they should dress ashta the same..
I am with you on this. Sojal has a great style. Somehow I am not liking saree style on Astha. So Shlok looking spellbound at her wearing Saree scene did not look convincing to me. They need to change Saree style and blouse style on Astha, because that style of blouse did not look that great either. Shrenu is a pretty girl and I am sure would look good in a saree too. They just need to dress her differently in different shades, material and style.

Thank you dear , It should have been me who should have succeeded after watching this all manipulation , but enjoying the yours favorites also
.I think Astha is always singing the songs about her mother being the perfect ,and many times she has rudely replied her back . Agree she is from loving ,caring, liberal family but she is immature , This may be also the reason , Anjali is talking specially about sanskar , bringing up and all . She has seen Shalok is protective ,that may be only for Astha,s eyes only .
In our place ,if you see your own wedding in your dream , its bad omen . but other dreams are meant to be true if are in early hours of morning .
Astha,s all this childish , immaturity is her plus point , Her parents are really something , any guy will first ask permission from the parents , but egoist Shalok does not feel any need of all this as he now owns Astha and that girl also went with him like lamb .

Myra, Shlokie was giving the wedding anniversary gift to papa dearest - one that was making him happy. Of course, Niranjan was frowning at Shlokie's flamboyant style as usual because it contrasts with his "behind the scenes" subtle style.

Before talking about the episode which for the most part was good, let me get negatives out of way. That was the editing part where the continuity was interrupted from the time Shlok dragged Astha to drop her and from the time she reaches home. In their hurry to show the last scene, they edited some important parts.

Coming back to the episode, my favorite scene was the last scene the way Shlokie baby was surveying the entire room and its occupants with an air of satisfaction. He got the effect he wanted. Of course, Anjali's reactions provoked him to do it. But then he had to do it in his style. The other favorite scene was Shlokie and Niranjan where Niranjan started with his usual trademark "mera baccha" and asked him to fulfill his wishes, with Shlokie telling him that he would do exactly what his father desires.

Another favorite scene was Shlokie, who was just tolerating Tanya, suddenly engaging her in small talks once he observed Astha spying on them. Then his display of feelings of satisfaction that Astha is now completely in him the way she reacted. He was right that what was the use of stubbornly holding on to not confessing anything when she had indicated in every way that she was infatuated with him. She confessed her feelings when she decided to wear that blue saree he gave her.

Anjali and Shlok scenes were as usual good where he fumed at Anjali demeaning Astha in front of Tanya and her family. Or his fury at Anjali pompously telling him about making a right decision in case of Swati. When will Anjali learn? I am actually not sure about Anjali. Anjali is now aware that Shlok wants Astha. Shlok did tell her directly that Astha is his and she had a very thoughtful look when she saw him dragging Astha from the house. I am now wondering why is she pushing Shlok towards Astha...just for the land or is it also to do with the fact that she has realised that there are chances that Shlok might actually be happy with Astha. I mean she has seen how possessive SHlok is about Astha, maybe she thinks that he will protect her from others. I am waiitng for the layers in Anjali to be revealed. She does love Shlok so chances are there that she might support his choice too...she won't do it directly but might indirectly. If Shlok can forget Swati and move forward with Astha then as a mother shouldn't she support this marriage.

Niranjan did look stern when Shlok announced Astha's name. But I feel that it was more his disapproval of Shlok's way of announcing it than anything else. Or he was just doing it for a show. I thought it was the former one that again he is not doing it the way he wanted it to be done. Shlok is very independent. Although he might listen to his father but chances are that he will do it in his own way. Vinayak did look sarcastic when Shlok said that he has learnt to keep his word from Niranjan. Then Vinayak was glancing from Shlok to Niranjan when Shlok made his announcement, trying to figure out Niranjan's plan. Vinayak knows more about his family members than he lets out.

Anjali on the other hand was furious. I actually did not find her surious..she did have a stern look but if she now wants Astha to marry Shlok then she won't show that she supports this marriage. She too in some ways is like Kalindi and Avdhoot who has her head in sand. Why has she not figured out that Shlok reacts to her adversely. Why was she feeling satisfied that Shlok will not do anything after she had told him that marrying Tanya was the right thing to do? Does she know so little of her kids? Maybe she does. That's why she keeps on mistreating Sojal and Kavya despite Varad's anger. I think facing Varad's anger is a safer choice than facing Neeranjan's anger. I still think that in some ways she does try to protect Kavya and Sojal.

Speaking of Kalindi and Avdhoot, both parents are amazingly blind. Their daughter who was missing for the most night comes back and is distraught, and they take her words at face value because it is convenient to do so. Astha brings an expensive saree home and wears it to Shlok's function and Kalindi is only mildly curious. Then Shlok drags their daughter by hand publicly and they are keeping quiet. I have given up on them Angie. How can a father allow his daughter to be dragged like that is beyond my imagination.

Overall, a good episode despite editing problems. Yeh saw the editing problems and as you have said it is all about their hurry regarding the ending. to Sojal looked the most pretty in her saree. She and Anjali continues to be the ones who are most elegantly dressed. Actually, today even Kalindi was dressed up well. Shrenu did look pretty but I preferred Sojal's style of dressing. Acting wise it was Avinash and Manish for me.

sorry for jumping in Angie.

Misti, I love your jumping in. So no issues with that. You have an interesting point and you are probably right about that. Anjali is not a fool though she does have her pride and ego. Also her dealing with her kids problem is convoluted, but she does care for them. So her way of protecting Jyoti is to treat Abhay with respect and to want to give him what he wants. So she wanted Ashram property for him so that he stays put and does not mistreat Jyoti. It is another thing that this kind of solutions never work. She also loves Shlok a lot and there is more to Swati story.

I am in two minds about that just as I am in two minds about Niranjan inflicting physical abuse on Anjali. And I agree that she would find it easier to handle Varad's anger/disapproval than Niranjan's. Also she did let Sojal comfort Kavya the other day when she administered that punishment.

Also her taunts to Astha are not without basis. She did rightly tell her that this was a glass house and would hurt her. Also not to mistake every glittering thing for gold. Then as you wrote yesterday, she was observing Shlok dragging Astha and now has seen his obsession with Astha.

Regarding Niranjan, I too think he disapproved of Shlok's methods. Also he is getting concerned that Shlok is losing sight of the goal where he should not be emotionally involved with Astha. Previously, he had left Shlok alone to deal with Astha. But now he is having these daily chats with Shlok to remind him to keep in sight the goal and not to loose himself. Then he was taunting Anjali about having a hold on Shlok, but also seemed to be convincing himself that he came first for him. It is interesting that Niranjan is so possessive of Shlok that he is happy about Shlok breaking ties with Anjali. How vicious he would turn when he finally realizes that Astha has become quite important (for whatever reason) to Shlok.

Thanks Myra, Misti and Angie for your contributions everyday. Without you all I can't understand some of the nuances.
Astha's parents are good actors but they are a bore now. Why can't they talk to the daughter. Each time they think they can talk to her in the morning and they never get to the bottom of things.

Every time I see Avinash as Shlok I am dumbfounded. What a transformation from previous role.
