My favourite part of the episode was baba Neeranjan's jump on Shlokie baby. The way he pounced on Shloke with a beaming smile made me think that whether Shloke will end up carry his baba just like a mummy monkey carries a baby monkey. When the baby monkey feel scared or threatened they jump on mummy monkeys who protect and reassure them. The babies either cling to the chest or to the back. Based on how baba Neeranjan reacted it looks as if Shlokie baby was his last hope. Actually I liked this scene a lot, I liked the piercing look that Neeranjan gave Shlok when he enquired whether Shlok remembers about what he told him, which was followed by an equal determined look from Shlok, then the contrast in their clothing with Shlok in dark while Neeranjan in complete white and finally the victory music in the background when Shlok said that he will follow his father's wishes. Baba Neeranjan was petting his bacha as if he has returned home after fighting a long war and I was expecting him to apply the victory tilak on Shlok's forehead. After he left Shlok was left with a "have I done the right thing look". I also liked the use of mirror to shoot some parts of the Shlok-Neeranjan interaction. As far as I remember they did a portion in the middle, Neeranjan's entry and his exit from Shlok's room.
I also liked the introductory scene of the party with Shlokie baby prowling around for his honeypot, I mean Miss Astha and Avdhut overhearing some lady telling Neeranjan that because of the award ceremony fiasco they lost the plot of land. Although Neeranjan was smiling I thought that he was gnashing his teeth and would have broken a flower vase on the lady's head. Meanwhile Avdhut who was standing behind that lady had a "where have I landed myself look". This was followed by Anjali again taking an aim at Kalindi's ego by referring to Tania as a girl with good upbringing and one can see and saying that girls of sanskari familes can be identified by their behavior. The way Anjali keeps on poking Kalindi's ego shows that she is a pretty good judge of character. Most probably she realized from Astha's bragging regarding her mother's teachings and ideals. I am actually waiting to see what will be Kalindi's reaction to the marriage proposal. I mean will she want Astha to marry Shlok so that she can prove a point. By the way when Anjali started talking regarding perfect upbringing, I was smiling seeing Avdhut's expression which to me said "She has again started!.
In the meantime Shlokie baby has found the trail of honey...I mean the sari pallu, the same sari that he had given Astha. He has a very proud look on his face and was also happy. He walked up to his honepot with a teasing look and then both his honeypot and him looked at each other and I had these dialogues going on in my mind
Honeypot-What
Shlokie baby-So you wore my sari
Honeypot-Oops I have been caught
Shlokie baby- I knew that you would
Honeypot slowly looking up-and?
Shlokie baby-No I am just smiling
Honeypot-I should escape when I can.
Okay now coming back to the actual dialogues and the not ones not going on in my head...Astha wore the sari because she did not have any formal sari ...yeah right and he cow jumped over the moon, that's my response by the way and Shlokie baby did not say it...and that Shlok should not pay attention to her because she is just an employee and then she gets angry later that why is Shlok not paying attention to her and why is Shlok touching his would be fiance's arm. She does want to be the centre of Sholke's attention and no wonder earlier she used to get irritated and used to deliberately poke Shlok just to get his attention. She also told Shlok that she won't say anything because she will get hurt. Very good, but what about not saying anything because her loved ones will get hurt? Astha has inherited Kalindi's ego and it comes out in her interactions with Shlok and his mother, because both challenge her. Shlok was right in saying that even if he has not spoken anything she has demonstrated everything through her actions. Honeypot leaves throwing a challenge to Shlok that she will only say after he has said (actually there was another challenge too..that why should she tell him when he is getting married to someone else)...now thats a nice challenge for Shlokie baby and form the gleam in his eyes it seems that he likes this challenge. Seriously he will be bored if Astha is not there to entertain him though various means.
By the way did Anjali give him the final push?
I loved the ending...especially when Astha realizes that her challenge might have been accepted when Shlok gives her a pointed look by saying that the girl is present in the ceremony and she drags her parents out but then meekly follows Shlokie when he drags her up the podium. I hope these two never stop playing these games with each other. Then I liked the part where Shlokie in the beginning asks everyone for their attention and Neeranjan had a "mera bacha" look, while Narad chachu's was "what is Shlok upto". This is followed by Shlok telling Neeranjan that he has learned to keep his word from his father and chachu throws a sarcastic look towards his brother, while Varad is studying Shlok with "what is now my kid brother upto" expression on his face. When Shlok declares Astha's name, Varad had "oh so this is it "look while chachu's was "again!". But I think Varad was also a bit angry, while the main culprit, that is Shloke baby had a pretty smug look which was again reminded me of the proud and smug look that my cat gives me after he has dropped the half dead mouse at my feet. By the way Shlok also gave a pointed look to his mother and he also gave a pointed look towards the Pradhans who left immediately. But did he declare Astha as his future wife or the future DIL of Neeranjan?
Now coming to Astha's parents, the saying "locking the stable door after the horse has bolted" kept on coming in my mind.
