"Dev is dead Chandni, the person you're talking to right now is Advay Singh Raizada and remember you mean nothing to him" the words reverberated in her ears repeatedly,plunging her into the abyss of hopelessness and despair.
she made her way into naani's room and naani as usual sensed her presence and and answered her silent question
"his parents were murdered chandni and he saw it with his own eyes...this is all i can tell you right now beta..anything else would be a betrayal to my grandson and as much as i love you I cannot fail him"
Chandni made her way to the patio and sat down tears streaming down her face. this man was Dev, her Dev the one she revered the man she loved and lived for. she could not pinpoint the moment she fell in love with him but all she knew was love meant dev for her. and now that she knew his true identity she couldnt bear to see the hostility in his yes for her. hi rancour rattled her made her restive.
She closed her eyes in deep contemplation...trying to remember the concatenation of events that led to the disappearance of the kashyap family and all she came up with were some grainy images of a few disjointed occurences...her telling everyone she had seen his mother flying in the air...her trying to find dev in their secret hiding place and she opened her eyes abruptly!! this was going nowhere...she needed answers
she ws so deep in thought she didnt realise the dark night had slowly turned into a periwinkle sky signalling the arrival of a new day, the dawn of a new beginning for her.
she got up sapped of all energy from all the revelation and slowly made her way to dev's room, their room she corrected in her mind
as she entered she saw dev in deep slumber and saw the strip of sleeping pill on the side table!!! so this is how he slept every night!! she went closer and his benign countenance while sleeping unleashed a tenderness and a sense of yearning and longing engulfed her in a way that all she wanted to do was enfold him in a hug and imbibe in herself all the pain and agony dwelling in his heart. she slumped on the floor crying her heart out at what her seemingly innocuous actions had let loose in his life.
she remembered his seraphic smile while hugging adi, his care and love for naani, pooja and maasi and she knew dev was not dead! her chimerical paradise was real...dev was with her and she would not let him fall into oblivion
With a newfound resolve she got up. she knew what she had to do. chandni took out her phone from her bag and dialled a number...seconds later a voice from the other end asked her "banno kaisi hai" and she knew some of her queries if not all would be answered.
so hellooo folks!!! this was something i wanted to write from chandni's perspective.
