I hope you aren't the last to comment on this thread. I would like to read more compliments about Barun from our friends here. Hey I just replied to your comment and you lost your last position.

Excellent quotes from Morgan freeman and meryl steep. It makes me want to wish Barun to achieve such recognition. Oh he so deserves man.

Apne hi Akka ke thread pe...lets say, probably the last one to comment. Cheers to me!!!

That being said, regarding the post, you've had me at the title, Akka.
It indeed takes a Barun to do what Barun does.

I am not saying there aren't any actors who cant act as good as Barun. No. I am just saying that, Barun belongs to that pedestal of actors, whom we take up as an example to compare.

Two of the most phenomenal actors of our millennium, the ones that I really admire and respect for their exemplary work: Morgan Freeman and Meryl Streep; have time and again said give quite wonderful quotes regarding their profession. But the ones that have held me bound are:

It [acting] is not about how loud you act, but rather how true you stay to it. One should let the stillness and subtlety do the talk. That's what makes an actor a magician.
-Morgan Freeman.

Acting is not about being someone different. It is finding similarity in what is apparently different, and then finding myself in there.
-Meryl Streep.

Dont you think Barun's acting walks along these lines? I do. I've always did.
I've loved the freshness of his acting. Of the detailed perception he has of his characters. Of the grip and wisdom he has, as to when to be what he is needed to be. Subtle yet powerful. Still but all over the place.

And with time, he is all but evolving into a better and much better master of his art. His finesse and precision, his command and control, over both his character and the screen space is simply beyond commendable!

It indeed takes a Barun.

Meryl Streep explained that by saying that "I am curious about people. That's the essence of my acting. I am interested in what it would be like to be you."

I think Barun is intriguing as an actor because when I watch him I feel that he is not simply emoting, but he is following the goals of the character. He is not giving a forced emotional feeling that any scenes require, rather he knows how he had planned the character to behave and react in those scenes. I feel as if his inspiration comes from all the work he has done in planning how he will play the character he is cast in.

As Johnny Depp said: "With any part you play, there is a certain amount of yourself in it. There has to be, otherwise it's just not acting. It's lying."

It's takes a barun sobti...
To play ASR and make him epic
To stand there still and make statement
To convey volumes without uttering a word
To make anti hero seem like your dream man

I love him.. I never been fan girl . Never cared about screen hero..
During first season. One I thought it's ASR it's just the character that had me.. I know barun gave life to it.. still the character made me go crazy..

But know who am I kidding... Five years and never watched other show.. I read his each interview.. rewatch all the segments..
I really like him a lot...

It's true .. it's takes a barun sobti.. to make someone like me to go crazy over a TV show!!

Damn you barun!!!

Hi ,.
It indeed does take a barun sobti..
Any actor can act and give emotions.
But this one just plays with ur psyche.
I can give u thousand example but the scenes which stood out for me ( I melted into a puddle )
1. Bhph
I know many would not have watched it. But my favourite scene is were shravan confesses that he slept with his wife to tara while she was proposing to him with ring
The scene was a very average scene.
And I remember I so was rooting for him to be slapped.
His character was very selfish and childish in that show .
But the moment she tries to put ring in his finger he says a very vulnerable no.
In that no everything was there.
The guilt, innocence and plea for apology.
Every freaking thing. You urself won't realise when u start sympathising for a jerk like shravan and he did not even fall on her feat and beg or something
2. Ipk 1 :
I loved the kissing scene between arshi. The cheek kiss.
First one during payash marriage.
I don't think u could get any hero intrigue you and turn u mush with a simple cheek kiss as barun does. The way he kisses her was orgasmic. It was nothing but cheek kiss. But dayum he was sexy.
3. Tanhaiyaan ;
The look which Haider gives Meera after risk liya song when her head gets hit. That look of admiration. I am in love with that look. His eyes.
No words.
4. Ipkknd 3: the entire o oh Jane Jana.
I loved the way he was actually so into her. I really had butterflies in my stomach after watching it. Both of them were brilliant there.
His pupils dilate when he does a romantic scene . I don't know how he does this.
Love u to moon and back.
Sobti boy
