Indian cinema thrives on exaggerated expressions, thanks to theatre where they body language and facial expressions are required to convey the emotions to the audience. However, with the advanced filmmaking the exaggerations has toned down. Yet we do still find forced change of facial expressions combined with poor camera angles and jarring background music. When I started watching ipk1, Barun's subtle reactions and expressions caught my attention (example his barely there half amused smile on seeing khushi in Manorama mami's style).

Today, during the last scene, I saw that subtlety again and man! I was blown away. It was a barely there change. I recollect situations from my life where I have been told things which have made me want break things, shake the life out of the person who said those things to me, but all I have done was to just listen to everything and not react. Barun did the exact thing. There was just a small change on his face when she said ghat he neither had a heart nor the destiny for relations. I was amazed how this man could be such a natural actor. I May have finally known why I couldn't move on from Barun Sobti

Totally doing a Ditto to your post Viji. Yes Barun's expressions were the main reason for me to be invested in IPK1. He is definitely an actor par excellence and he is so subtle in his expressions.

And today I too have realized after the last scene that I too may never move on from Barun. As long as he is acting, I guess I will be there be it webseries, movies or shows. This was the Advay I was sold on in the initial promos, this is the advay I am rooting for. Just hope creatives give me this advay for this whole week.

Ditto I second you both completely on the above points. We share similar sentiments regarding Barun. 😳

He is a terrific actor. As you said, he beautifully underplays Advay and gives no showy exaggerated expression. He has that amazing acting style where minor muscle movements on his face and his eyes do the emoting. I feel like capturing every single expression of his because he is that brilliant. Hence it becomes a majorly difficult task when you have to take screenshots and post caps. And the fact that he is handsome doesn't help much. So it's better to gif his face 😆❤️ He's phenomenal <3 Personally, I can't even think about liking any other actor more than him because it is those details that he brings through his acting that makes his characters so special and you can see that he is evolving as an actor. It's like you can't wait too discover new facets of his acting with each character!

Ohhh yes

BS is soo subtle...

That is the reason his acting comes off
Better on the small screen..

I have rooted for him from the
"Dil Mil Gaye days".. lord he was sooo good
As a drug addict...

I would love to watch him as a full fledged
Crazy villain on the big screen..

I just couldn't Recognise him in ipk1 initially

He's become far more confident now on screen..

Indrani is going to be a terror, once Adni marry
Without her knowing it...

& the day she gets to know ASR as Dev,
She is definitely going to try to kill him..

Bring it on...

Both were excellent in the scene
He felt pain and anguish
But he never showed it to Chandni
