Sush,

Your analysis and Shwets' collages continues to keep at least some of us hooked onto the show. I really hope you will continue writing.

Yesterday- I was actually reminded of one of Gul's replies to her bashers on IPK being a franchise and how one has to get out of high school to understand that. The episode was flowing quite smoothly until our shatir dimaag hero decided to adulterate the noodles with sleeping pills and my dimaag suddenly woke up and protested. How on earth did he know Chandni wouldn't have a helping too! This is when I realised I have to get back to high school if I need to understand the writer. (Actually, lower primary or even earlier than that, since I was always quite an inquisitive child)

Seriously! The writer thinks she is writing for school children?!😲

The noodle sedative bright idea for high schoolers and the ridiculous stance on the bed was such an assault on my sensibilities, that I forgot to lose my senses over the ensuing romantic scene- which by itself was a beautiful moment actually. I have no one to blame but myself for not keeping my expectations as low as possible when it comes to the desi soap.

Cut to the next scene- which seemed a copy from season one for the star gazing scene- I had to spend a moment, wondering at how unimaginative people become when they take forward a franchise. But full marks for the scene in the previous episode where Advaiy gently cushions her head as she gets up. (That had been very sweet.😳)

Anyway, some time on the forum today and I have bravely decided to look past these minor deterrents and try and watch in a dumbed down mode.

I think I will definitely stick around- if only for the Sobti factor. He believed in the script and now I hope the script will do him justice.

Also enjoyed the sisters teasing Chandni. This is how I had imagined the track to go, so now will wait to see if it culminates in Chandni marrying Advaiy because 1)Her mother wishes it so. 2)She is at least curious about Advaiy, whereas PP is just a prop in her life and 3) Whatever other majboor situation Advaiy pushes her into.

First and foremost did the show change?😲 Is it the same show? Where did the brooding angry man go? He has become an obsessive seductive lover. By hook or crook he wants to marry Chandni

Forget ASR even Chandni has changed. She forgot her past?😲😲😲

The calculator new suitor is the comic relief.

We complained about the intensity but looks like we should think before what we ask😕 While they are ready to grant us wish why not do that with clothes?

Enough of my first hand rant 😆 will update my previous post with today's update. If i watch as a stand alone episode i enjoyed the episode😃

So happy to see you here, Bhavi.🤗

Aren't you asking too many questions? 😲
Methinks you have to get back to high school to be able to answer them. 😉😆

What is it with plucking out stars to woo a girl?
It didn't make sense even in the first season.😕 Looked too cheesy an idea even way back then.

Flowers are great, fireflies are fine- but fake stars! Isn't it the equivalent to plastic flowers?
If someone pulled that on me, I would wonder if he has a brain at all.🥱

Regarding Chandni ... Just my POV ... Shivani isn't at par with Barun ( who is anyways 😃) ... She is quite limited in her expressions ... But by stroke of luck ( or design , I don't know which ) that limited expression suits the character ... I don't think she is in love like you said ... I feel she is confused and intrigued ... and that's on a superficial plain ...But if I stretch this a bit and try to go deep, then this is a lost numb kid without an anchor ... She lost her mom ( possibly at an young age ) , she lost her best freind Dev , she lost her dad to amnesia , she lost her so called reputation to abduction , she believes her step mom is an angel whose love she doesnt deserve ( being a step daughter ) , so she tries to please her in everyway ... Now here comes a paheli , a riddler ( in Advay ) ...she is curious and intrigued but she doesn't question him too much , because life has never given her answers ...it has always given her questions ... She has lost the habit of probing too much . So when Advay calls get Jhooti ; she doesnt interrogate him , she simply declares she needs to go ...what's the point in asking , life and surely this Pagal man will not give her any answer ... So, shivanis limited affectless face actually works in this scenario 😊 ... By the time the story reaches a point where she will need to break down / retort / seek answer ; shivani will have to take the acting up a few notch ( which Gul should be able to bring out ) ... Right now this emotionally radar less lost kid with an amicable veneer ( my daughter will make any house / home a happy one ; according to Maleficent Indrani ) is perfectly characterized in Chandni ! I can't think of anyone else playing this numb character better than her. Sorry for the long bak bak 😆 Thanks for your thought provoking post

Hi Sabrina,

Thank you for this most comprehensive and sincere write up on both Chandni and Shivani.👏
You echoed my thoughts on Shivani and explained Chandni in a way no one else has.

Don't you think we are being overly critical to the show???
About noodle things, let think in this way that Advay got to know that Chandni is making noodles for her sisters only or, take it this way, even if she ate the noodles at that time, Advay will think of plan B ...as simple as that...Because Advay arranged those chand-taarey after mixing the drug in noodles...
Anyway different people have different aspects of analysing scenes!

Yes. I am being overtly critical, as I have confessed in red.
Chandni was actually eating the noodles when sh entered Advaiy's room- so it is difficult to think she was making it only for her sisters. However, if creative liberty says Advaiy is a mind reader and fortune teller, I am not going to question that.
If she ate the noodles, she would be fast asleep too, na?😕 Yes, he could have postponed the star scene to the next night or injected her with an antidote- I agree with that. 🤔

The only disconnect is from her back story...which should have made the part of being charmed more difficult forcing Bituwa to be gentler in his approach...more sensitive...

Yup! It's like they just established the back story in week 1 for the sake of it and then bam! Forgot about it 😕 She doesn't seem to be that anxious at Advay invading her personal space anymore, at least not as anxious as she SHOULD be. The only satisfaction I get is that though she's charmed and mesmerized during the ten 'rabba ve's' we get per episode, she doesn't forget all the perplexing things he says. This is why it's frustrating we don't get her POV at all 😒 I want to see if she's starting to connect the dots, picking up on the double meaning of his words - that he's out to DESTORY her. She asked him last week 'aapko mujhse kya dushmani hai?' and I cheered! That was some progress, so we know she AT LEAST is aware he has less than friendly feelings towards her. I wonder why doesn't question him, 'why do you wanna marry me Advay?!' She just seems to be too easily playing along in his 'game'.

*sigh* 😡😆 I'm just frustrated at how poorly they're developing her character is all. It sounded so, so good on paper and I'm not blaming the actress in this because she's doing a damn good job considering what SHODDY writing is being put together for her character at this stage :|

Well, I think we will get her POV also...Write now she is being shown as confused over Advay's behaviour...

^ It's not even just her lack of POV. it's how her character is shaping up. This is just the start of the show and they've already forgotten to integrate other elements of who she is as a person for eg., a Sanskrit teacher (they showed ONE scene). All we see is a scene with sisters, her confusion at Advay's actions/words and subsequent three seconds of contemplation, her eating noodles or her practically worshiping her two-faced mum. Idk...maybe I'm just expecting too much lol.

Anyways, maybe it'll all come forth after she gets married Advay for whatever reason. Kya kya socha tha, but they've already got a marriage track happening three weeks into the show, perhaps the development of her character will start afterwards. I hope so :)

Nice post Sush.

On one hand there is this numeric clown/price tag PP who Chandni has agreed to marry only for her family, and then there is this strange man Advay who is trying to woo her with all his charm. Though Chandni might not accept it yet, but she is getting affected by Advay's charm as seen in yesterday's episode and that's not surprising at all. Some women do go weak and fall for such charmers even if their mind warns them otherwise.

Some may feel Advay-Chandni romance has started too early, but I wouldn't call it romance. Advay is only trying to win her over. He is here on a mission. The real romance with sweet moments will start much later in the show.

I really liked the sisters scene yesterday. They asked Chandni if she is happy with the marriage alliance. They also spoke about Shikha's friends engagement. The flow of scenes and the continuity of story has been really good since last week.

PS. I like reading your posts, please do continue writing in this forum.😊
