And the OP's comment about the cleanliness of the sheets?! Really? Oh gee thanks for being OH SO considerate and assaulting me in a clean environment. Heaven forbid the sheets being dirty. Now THAT would have made it a REAL violation of personal space and human decency!

I know, right? Hey, Shivaay, since i haven't ever slept on such soft sheets at my home, here's a gift for you.
*gives Shivaay my wrist*
Today, you can twist it and mark it as much as you want because i am so well rested.

Let's play a hypothetical game. Say you went to attend a wedding. Say the bride ran away. Say the groom now keeps a gun to your head and asks to marry you because he is so upset and life has been so unfair to him. That would be wrong, no?
Dekho, if Richa wanted to marry Shivaay, it would have been okay. I don't judge people. To each their own. But she didn't. She was forced. She asked for help. If I attend a wedding and I come to know there is something fishy going on, I will speak up. Be it dowry or a child marriage or a forceful wedding. I think it is honourable to help the people who asked for help. Again, standing up for what is right is not some mahaan thing. It must just be basic human decency.

Regards to the criminal activity, I suggest you check out coercion, undue influence and extortion under Indian Penal Code. You will see that it is illegal and it makes Shivaay a criminal.

P.S. I'll be sure to check out Criminal Minds. 😊

Coercion oh I know. Extortion too.

Sahi keh rahi ho tum.

BUT.

Honestly, I would agree if a dude as hot and rich as Shivaay said 'shaadi karo'; duh, main kar loongi😆😆

and i asked my bro too, we're all for it, so I'm sorry, I guess business families have a different ethical code😆

Haha. Well, I come from a business family as well and even though I wouldn't mind myself a hot, rich banda, the point is that I should want to marry him.

That is my whole point. If you are in a situation that you are okay with, well then good for you. God speed. If Shivaay had asked Anika, tried to make a deal in a way which would have been acceptable to her. May be a future for Sahil or his operation or whatever. If Annika would have given her consent, then toh panga hi nahi tha na. I am not against business marriages or open marriages or what-ever other kind of marriage anybody has. The only thing is, both parties should have consented. There has to be respect, if not love. And being violent is no way to earn any kind of respect.

I partially agree with SOME of your sentiments, but I think you really REALLY need to read more on both sexual abuse, what implies crime, and what is okay in terms of social responsibility;

The fact you said: I do not live in India and so it does not impact me directly,

shows your privilige. That takes away your right to judge who and what anyone needs to watch, firstly.
Secondly, if you think, you are some sort of savior who will show us how irredeemable our male leads are, please contextualise, at least, that.

The point of the show IS to see it from BOTH the male AND the female points of view. IF anika helping a girl realize her dreams or whatever the hell she was realizing is okay, then it is equally valid that the audience understands where shivaay was coming from and how he dealt with a situation.

If you, or your sort of view point, cannot pin point problems that express social issues that are predominant enough and yet, available enough to be expressed in this sort of popular culture, then please, re-evaluate, re-read, and please, re-acknowledge other kinds of knowledges, and other kinds of experiences that do not involve liberal middle-class pseudo-white feminisms😊

You could have replied wthout these insults. My intention afterall was never to insult anyone.

So, apparently if you grew up in India and no longer live there, you have no right to say anything whatsoever. Well I suppose Indians really should not have cheered when Donald Trump won and people around the world really should have no opinion on Donald Trump. And privilege? Really? I don't think its a big accomplishment to move out of India, but you seem to think that people who don't live in India are all privileged. Weird.
Neither do I think I am some sort of savior. But right is right and wrong is wrong. If you are going to sit there and tell me that I am wrong in thinking it is morally deplorable to manhandle women, and threaten them to do their bidding...then I don't see where we go from there because we disagree in the fundamentals of our beliefs.
Oh, and the problem isn't understanding where Shivaay's reasonings for behaving in this manner...that's quite obvious but the problem is that what is he doing is plain wrong.
I agree that
Liberal middle-class pseudo-white feminisms? I was exactly like this when I lived in India too and I will always be like this. I suppose I was fated to be a liberal middle-class pseudo-white feminist before I was even born and had met any pseudo-white feminists.
I suppose I better be off reading up on sexual abuse, social responsibility which apparently is going to be tell me that forcing women to do their bidding is your social responsibility as a man. 😃

@bold: YEAH exactly, and thats what you're not doing.

@blue: I totally agree that anika cannot help BUT be a savior, it's fine, it's her character.

@italic: aww darling, reread, and reread, and again again.

@bold: I am not saying I don't have nothing against a manhandling man, just that there are issues that ALSO need to be understood ASIDE from 'manhandling', and it's easier to point them out when you, no, we, are in a more privileged situation

@blue: No. and i do not appreciate this sarcasm here😳.

I'm sorry you're not able to understand this Nisha😳

I think she made it clear that it isn't as if she has not watched or enjoyed gul's shows in the past...made it clear that she can separate personal morals and watch such shows and read such novels...just that she can't condone such behaviour...and as much as I remember of her posts in ipkknd forum she never supported the lead character when he manhandled. She criticized it with much vigour,in fact.
She didn't even bring feminism here man😆...you two are doing that.

You really should take geet's advice and read. Why would you assume I am a feminist? Besides, as I stated above fiction is purely entertainment for me not a reflection of my personal morals at all.

Did you guys really want to have a conversation regarding what was going on in this show since mocking people, and insulting them is not a way to have a civil conversation with anyone.

Look I don't know any of you personally, but this is conversation is going no where so we should just stop. Unless you guys enjoy mocking people who have differing opinions from you.
