wow... just wow... even though i am completely in love with Omkara Oberoi, to the point of obsession, u have written Anikara so awesomely that, just this once, I'll let it go [;-)]

But if u plan on getting Shivika back together in the end, May i please suggest my name opposite Om? ☺️

Rudra to me is such an underrated character. He is basically the comic relief but theres so much more to him.

I don't think you sound horrible or pathetic at all! I went to a talk by Bryan Cranston who played Walter White in Breaking Bad- I'm not sure if you've seen it but he is the epitome of the antihero and although if you were to just hear about what he does throughout the show, you'd be disgusted and hate him, when you're actually watching his journey... you want him to succeed. The objectively good people who get in the way are the ones you actively root against. Basically, Bryan said that it doesn't matter how something makes you feel, only that it makes you feel something. Art or writing or film or TV is only good so long as it makes those observing feel something. If it's making you hurt for Shivaay, then that's brilliant because I really like to really try and get into the minds of the characters and so I hurt for him too, even when it's pretty much his own fault.

I think in the show, Omkara and Shivaay are as close as Star Plus gets to antiheroes (I suppose unless we count Ek Hasina Thi 😆). If we look at it from an outsider's perspective, ACP Randhawa is the good guy. The one who is certain that these two billionaire's have gotten away with murdering someone and are using their power and money to hush it up and so will expose it at any cost. But because we're so invested in the lives of Omkara and Shivaay, even though the show is hinting that Omkara has killed someone... we don't want the ACP to realise. We want Prinku to pull herself together and keep her mouth shut to protect Omkara. We want Shivaay to step in and ACTUALLY use his power and money to hush it all up.

I so genuinely want a happy ending for all these characters, so I don't know if that will give you comfort and I suppose it's not really a guarantee they'll get one... but I can't possibly end this story leaving Shivaay in the bizarre limbo he's currently in, so there's that. 😆

I actually thought about this myself as I was writing the chapter, so it's a very valid question that you asked. So when I was writing I was thinking "Why is Shakti saying all this now when it would have made more sense to do it two years ago?" so I do actually have an answer for you which I hope you'll find satisfying 😆

If we think about the Oberoi household in the run-up to Shivaay's wedding, i.e. the show as it stands today. Everyone knows there's something between Anika and Shivaay, but as far as they know, there's something stronger between Shivaay and Tia. All his moments with Anika are private. Their own little secret. All the adults ever see are moments of attraction, sure, but they don't know that it's more. Anyone can find another person attractive, but that doesn't mean they'll marry them.

Shivaay's treatment of Tia is all for show, and that show is for Tia and his family. It's testament to OmRu's closeness to and understanding of him that they don't fall for it, but for people he deliberately keeps at an emotional distance, like his own parents, it's fair enough that they would think that Anika is just a small speed bump and that he'd be more than happy with Tia once he was married. After all, in the show even Tej and Jhanvi are currently happy- in Consequences they only deteriorated after Omkara left.

For Shakti, it was only over time that he realised how miserable his son truly is and perhaps it took him even longer to link that misery to Anika. In my mind, he caught wind of Tia's affairs and for a long time believed it to be related to that, maybe it was Pinky herself who made him realise that it has nothing to do with Tia. And why that night? Maybe I like to think he felt a little tug towards his son, something drew him out at the same time as Shivaay that night and they bumped into each other and he provided the firm fatherly words Shivaay had needed, as well as the listening ear that Omkara and Rudra had previously been.

As for Omkara's marrying Anika and whether he was conflicted over how it may affect Shivaay... I'll let you read all about that in a later chapter. 😉

But coming back to your wonderfully gut-wrenching story, giving us some insight on Shakti was the best thing you could've done because like the angsty side of Rudra, the slightly one-tracked Saumya, the ever-quiet Priyanka, the loud Pinky, the drunk and depressed Jhanvi, and the ever-crass Tej, Shakti's character is very much left unexplored, giving you a lot of scope for development in his track.

Lord I love the side characters in the show and hope they get more screentime in future. They all have such interesting stories and potential. Tbh I'm low-key hoping someone on the forum writes about the adults in the story when they were younger. Erm, would I kill to read a series of Oneshots from Jhanvi's PoV about her relationship with Vikram Rana, being seduced by Tej, fleeing her wedding, marrying Tej, the deterioration of her marriage to Tej and finally, that moment where she finally saw Vikram again... Yes. Yes I would kill for that.

Moving on the Priyanka, I'm going to assume that she isn't going to London to meet her brother, and the woman she wishes would become her bhabhi, but to meet the man that has been paying very close attention to her blog, and I'm very much excited to see more of a rebellious Prinku in the future.

THE PRINK LADY AND ACuriousPerson UNITING IN LONDON? COULD IT BE? 😆 WHO IS THAT SUSPENDER-WALI MAN STRIDING ARROGANTLY TOWARDS HER?

Last but not least, getting to the arc that you teased in the prologue, RumYa in a hotel, in London, and finally kind of, sort of accepting their feelings for one another, and acting on them in the most drunk fashion. It shall be interesting to see their dynamic slightly shift, as it often does, and to see how they act upon that.

Oh RuMya. I 100% think relationships based on a strong friendship where both already know each others' flaws, especially in a friendship like RuMya's where they've been living with each others' flaws for years will be able to weather any storm in the long run. That is, if they decide they want to...

Is there a doubt in anyone's mind that Sahil is the way to Anika's heart? Shivaay insulting Sahil started Anika and Shivaay down the hatred track and we are all so keen for Shivaay to meet Sahil because we know how important his reaction to Sahil will be to Anika and to his relationship with Anika. For Omkara, a man who sees everyone as an equal, welcoming Sahil into his life and giving him respect and not treating him as disabled or different would come naturally. And that nature is precisely what I think would warm Anika's heart the most. Don't we all want those we care about to like each other?

Moving on to RuMya, lord knows how excited I am for their track to play out both in your story, and in the show because they understand one another on a deeper level, and you know that no matter how the other stories play out, theirs definitely will be the most comparable to a summer rain, which is a refreshing change from every single Indian Drama having us believe that you go from hating each other to love in an instant.

I am curious how they're going to go from the betrayed and hurt Rudra of today to marriage so soon, but I am guessing copious amounts of alcohol will be involved. And can we just... Rudra turning back to give her water even though he was so so upset almost made me cry. RUDRA BABY IS SO GOOD AND KIND AND PURE OMG. I don't think slamming Soumya up against a wall was consistent with his character, I think that was just a Gul Khan Classic rearing its head. It was the only thing inconsistent with how I thought he'd react, I thought he'd just sit down and force her to sit down opposite him and we'd see his anger through his expressions (Leenesh's nuances are a GIFT) and clenched fists and slamming of hands. Maybe even a broken phone 😆 But I guess physically trapping Soumya against a wall makes for more compelling/ dramatic TV. 🤔

I'm a little impatient when it comes to waiting...That's why I prefer to read completed Ff's than ongoing...but dear your ff made me fall in love with it and it seems like I'm waiting for the loved one instead of an update...Waiting to read more and more...
The Update was amazing Rudra's turmoil and POV is amazingly written,loved it

You are freaking fabulous my dear. You have left me confused😆 I am a very ardent Shivika shipper actually so when i realized that Anika is actually married to Om i considered not reading the rest. Oh boy thank god i did🤗 Despite my Shivika obsession i believe that you can fall in love many times in your life. As life goes on you tend to meet people who touch your heart differently. I adore the way Om has touched her heart, while they way Shivaay and her still somewhat belong to each other gives me chills(The good kind)

I don't know what endgame i need here( Yes, need not want🤣) but i sure know that Shivaay realizing that he has lost his Anika forever is going to kill me😔

And Soumya are Rudy are so awwh. When he said he " Now if possible" This was me- ☺️

I am pretty sure your updates are going to hurt me🤔 But i know i will love it anyway❤️ Looking forward to them.
