It was still drizzling. A pair of black kohl eye was hopping in the soggy streets from the glass window of a moving bus. A crow with its soaked feathers was sitting beside the stove of a road side tea stall trying to find some warmth. A bulb was flowing in the water logged muddy water in the streets! What if it breaks, anyone can hurt them while walking there. The concerned black eyes kept looking at the bulb from the bus's window till it disappeared from her sight. That day was her first day as a Doctor in the most famous Oberoi General Hospital. She needed to be on time, but the traffic seems to have some other plans.

"Moksh" ... People with huge beards, wearing saffron dhotis were smoking marijuana on an open terrace. The red bricks, cement and limestone powder were peeking out from the 70 years old decaying building. A tall man with long hair and beard crawled upwards through the half broken stairs with the help of moonlight and fade lights from the street. Somehow he manages to join others on the terrace. His legs were shaking; he was not in his senses. He took a hookah himself and smoked letting the vapor fill his mouth and as the smoke touched his vocal cord a word escaped his mouth, "Moksh"(Relief).

It's fifteen minutes past five and luckily she landed in the hospital before time. She got the night shift at start and luckily she has no family to oppose. She has done loads of hardships in her 25 years long life being an orphan. She needs to be independent.
An hour later, after knowing every rules and regulations of the hospital and signing in numerous forms, she entered her cabin. Her personal cabin. There was just one chair behind the desk and two in front of it. There was a shelf hanging loosely on the wall, lights were dim and the room hasn't got coloured in years it seems. After passing the internship from Medical College Hospital, it is the first place to work as an independent doctor. A huge pile of files were on the table. She sat on her chair and looked at the files, for the first time she will handle cases by her own instead of assisting someone. In no time she got lost in the files.

Sukhi Dhoop jaisi yeh aankhein
Na hain aansoo, na koi mamta
Baarish ki boondon se bhi gila nahi hote
Duriya itni bana li apne rooh se hi humne
Ki hazar war kar lo dil pe par hum nahi rote
"Wah! Apne likkhi?" She came forward to meet a tall, long haired man. "Hi, I'm Anika. Your Doctor!" She gave her hand to greet him.
"Om. Omkara" He said trying to smile a little.
After doing the check up she said, "How do you got hurt? You have broken your legs, injured your hands, Have some other minor fractures too!"
"I slipped from a terrace" Om said. Clear from his tone that he doesn't want to move ahead with this conversation.
"You will be fit very soon!" Anika assured him. He smiled. This time genuinely.
"Take care" Anika said before taking a leave.
Rona aaye to ro hi le
Phir se mehsoos tu kar wo gam, wo khusiyan
Aankh utha k dekh to le
Roshni abhi bhi mehekti hain galliyan galliyan
-Anika said standing at the door turning to him.
"Goodnight Doctor" Om said looking straight at her eyes.
"Goodnight Om" She smiled before leaving.

8pm is the time to go on a round over the hospital to look after the patients. Anika came back to her cabin after forty five minutes. She has never stayed anywhere at night other than ladies hostel after she left the orphanage. She still has flashes of a night, stormy night. Fire, Abuse, Blood and then pitch black. Emptiness. She has a fear of dark. Although being a mental Doctor she doesn't have any proper explanation for her nightmares. This night is another stormy night. Rain hasn't stopped from then and it's now raining heavily with thunders and storms. She took the file and started reading from where she left it. Suddenly she heard a flickering sound and within seconds the light was gone.
She gulped.
She panicked.
Her breaths heavy.
She tried to on the torch of her phone, but her phone was dead already. She pressed on the buttons hopelessly. Tears stared forming in her eyes. She shut her eyes tightly and put her folded hands on her chest.
"Please no flashes, not right now. Please God!" she tried to divert her mind.
"No flashes, no flashes" she chanted. "NO-O-O-O" she cried. Tears were rolling down her cheeks.
"Save me, save me" She shouted. SA-A-AVE ME" She screamed making her throat sore.
The door opened at the very moment letting some light from the corridor to come into the room. A silhouette ran towards her.
"Shhh...Shhh... nothing happened. Nothing happened." The man said cupping her face, the voice calm and assuring. She relaxed a bit holding his hands over her face.
"Light" her trembled voice blurted.
"Someone bring some damn light here." The authoritative voice shouted.
You come with me" he asked her with equally calm voice. He held her and guided her outside the room. She was amazed to see his control over his emotions. At a moment he was angry, hyper the very next moment so calm. She relaxed when she came to the lightened corridor.
"Would you like to have some water?" he asked.
She looked up at him and saw his greenish blue orbs for the very first time.
"Hmm" she nodded tying to not get lost in those eyes.
"Go and finish the lighting properly NOW. QUICK." He told looking at the mechanics who were about to enter Anika's cabin.
It should be done by now. Hope, it will get done before the Doctor comes. He said to himself while glancing at the cabin.
Before the Doctor comes! But I'm the Doctor? Anika thought to herself.
He got a glass of water from the nearby aqua filter. She sipped some.
"Where is your bed? What are you doing here at this time of night?" His voice stern.
"My bed?" she asked, confused.
"Yes, your bed. Who's your Doctor? What's your bed number?" he asked again.
"But I'm no patient!" she told shocked.
"Don't say you're the psychiatrists?"
"Yes, I'm"
"And you feared of darkness!"
She lowered her eyes.
"Look, I can't hire someone like you" he roared.
"But the HR team selected me. I signed for a 3 months contract too!"
"Do hell with your contract. What Shivay Singh Oberoi says is the last word here" he roared again.
But Sir! My fear for darkness doesn't prove I'm anywhere less. I'm sure you will be proud of me one day if you give ..."
"Leave" he cut her words. "Pack your belongings and leave I say" he growled.
"But Sir!" She tried to say something.
"I don't want to see you here again!" he said before leaving.
She was shocked. She was dumbfounded.
