Anything on BR Mahabharat and I am here. 😊

I am watching it everyday on epic channel at 6PM once again.

Right now Drona is Senapati and war has started...soon there'll be Abhimanyu vadh, for those who aren't watching it.

It was the first ever Mahabharat on TV and this was how I learnt about this great epic in school days. 😊

I was re-watching the first epi just now! 😃
Harishji had so perfectly captured the eternal essence of time!
Nowhere else have I heard such a true definition of our dear MB!
Yes, Mahabharat is one book which has the solutions to ALL our problems. Just tweak the situations a little, and they'll be perfect for our age as well!
Personally I think, BRC's put a little more emphasis on the 'Andhe ka putra andha' comment than was required by the story.
But they got Bharat so well. Yeah, that was a beginning.
So sweet, how Shakuntala reminds the King that Kanvamuni is like his Grandpa!
And, her blue saree looked so cool yet graceful!
It was so cool how they maintained the sweetness of relationships all the while, but never lost focus with the main story.
How sweetly did Bharat convey Shakuntala's complaint to her Father.
Bharat-Shakuntala's convo was so nice; a good way to put forth Bharat's POV on the succession issue. Loved his reason- his subjects were his children as well!
True, the loss of democratic sense was the most grievous mistakes of the Indian civilization. They lost all peace owing to that.
The Pandavs did everything, but I'm afraid, they forgot (willingly perhaps) to reinstate this notion of democracy during their reign. They were worried about the future of their lineage, but they never sought a good human outside their family. Kuruvansh could have done with an outsider.

Rishabh Shukla and Kiran Juneja were fairly good and Shantanu and Ganga, playing their parts to perfection!
Also, I'd like to congratulate the cameraman, who had achieved the feat of recording all those deer who were supposed to be hunted down by Shantanu, if not for Ms. Ganga devi. 👏 I wonder how many days it took them to get those! 😲
Now now, Shantanu is soo handsome and he looks just perfect with Ganga! Pity, she had to leave.
Okay, ignoring the shock-repeats, the baby-drowning scenes were well shot! Loved the echo effect given to the vachan reverberations!
Rishabhji portrayed Shantanu's helpless pain so beautifully! One's heart would flinch automatically on hearing his reply to his minister!

Very true Pro :)
BRC Mahabharat is one show where each character has been captured perfectly.

Loved his reason- his subjects were his children as well!
True, the loss of democratic sense was the most grievous mistakes of the Indian civilization. They lost all peace owing to that.
This is something we see nowadays too :/ Our democratic sense is haywire.

The Pandavs did everything, but I'm afraid, they forgot (willingly perhaps) to reinstate this notion of democracy during their reign. They were worried about the future of their lineage, but they never sought a good human outside their family. Kuruvansh could have done with an outsider.
I agree with this too, Pro. They should have reinstated the notion of democracy :/

Also, I'd like to congratulate the cameraman, who had achieved the feat of recording all those deer who were supposed to be hunted down by Shantanu, if not for Ms. Ganga devi. 👏 I wonder how many days it took them to get those! 😲

Jai Shri Krishna!
Bhuyaad Bharat Pankajam Kalimal Vidvanshi Nah Sreyashe

[May this lotus of Mahabharat, the destroyer of all sins of Kaliyug, be kind to us]

Pranaam everyone! My name is Semanti. I'm a teacher by profession and a mytho-lover by passion. Glad to meet so many MB lovers here 😊

Regarding roleplay: I'm fine with it if everybody agrees. But please let me play Yudhishthir's role then 😳

Regarding OS: Nice idea. I'm in 😊

Regarding Krishna: I have a very strange relationship with Him. Sometimes He seems like my son, sometimes father, sometimes brother and sometimes Saviour. Actually that Blue Beauty is a multi-talented personality. He loves to play various roles. Also He is the universe's best mind-reader. He reads my mind and gives me the opportunity to love Him in my desired form.

Regarding the first episode: Beautiful analysis Proteeti 👏 I too love King Bharat's neeti of treating praja as children. Agree with you regarding democracy. IMO there could be a better ruler than Parikshit who could have continued with the Raj Dharma of Dharmaraj. Still, I think Pandavas were worried about their grandson's life as they had already lost almost all dear ones in war, not just because they wanted to see their own blood on Kuru throne.

I have the DVDs of almost every mytho serial out there, but for BRC's Mahabharat I still have only the VCDs which are horrible quality.

Can anyone recommend which DVD set is the best for Mahabharat? Which one has the least number of edited out scenes, also preferably without an ugly watermark?

I'm dying to watch this show again.

@Semadi: Hello! How good it feels to see you here!
Yeah, They might've missed it; it's wasn't so popular right!

@Jhulan didi: Would you join us in the discussion?

@Janudi: I don't know, I've been looking for them myself. I'll let you know if I come across any. 😃

@Rakhidi: Do join us, will you?

@Everyone: How many in favour of role-play?

Me Me me! *jumps up and down excitedly*
If we do do it, I wanna be Kanha or Bhama :P
If you had to do a role Pro, who would you play?

^I'd take Radha, or Rukmini.

Waise, what about taking up roles episode wise?
Like, if we're discussing episode 1, then we'll need,
Bharat
Shakuntala
Kanva muni

Shantanu
Ganga
Mantri

For epi 2,

Ganga
Shantanu
Bheeshma
Satyavati etc.

What say?
This way we can include the possible POVs of the characters, and also discuss the aesthetics.
