This is happening exactly what was anticipated --- "There are few Indians, too conservative and narrow minded, who had disregarded and disrespected the contribution of Nepali-origin people despite the nepalese have contribute so much in making India free from British, maintaining law and order and serving community from door to door security to anywhere they've got opportunity. After Prashant win the title, these rude mass of India are obliged to call him Bharat ki Shaan, but their Shaan will be happier in concerts in Kathmandu and Pokhara."

Now I see this happening in these threads.

True he is 100% indian. We should feel happier to get honors from a foreign nation. His fame is spread over boundary, that is good. Lets cheer up for him.

prashant is a nepali babu, nepali banda. and nobody can change the truth.

Not an educated logic....

First of all, Indian idol is not a title awarded by Indian government, is it?

Prashant is an Indian citizen, not an ordinary indian citizen but a proud member of Indian police veteran, who lost their family member for India. It is Indian government's responsibility to look after Prashant's family. But, instead of having good life at the cost of the main member of his family, Prashant's family faced severe financial crisis. That is how Indian government supported Prashant. Prashant got a complementary job position when he turned 18, and whatever he got from Indian govt is the return of his service.

I now knew, Nepalese people also serve for UK's army, French Army, Brunei Army, US Army etc. But India is the least rewarding for their veterans. I feel sad for loss of prashant's father at his 10 years of life.

Nepal is abusing the fact that Prashant Tamang is from Nepal and he is Indian Idol. Why did they have to wait for him to be crowned Indian Idol??? Why couldnt they make him grand ambassador anyways. win or loose he was the first Nepali to participate and reach top 5 in Indian Idol, No they had to wait for him to win. Why didnt they just declare him grand ambassador like Amit Paul. No they wanted to benefit from it.

No, you can't say Nepal is abusing in this case comparing why didnt they just declare him brand ambassador like Amit Paul. You know, Amit visited Meghalaya before winning the title, Prashant visited Nepal after winning the title. The honor was awarded when they were present in the place.

It is hypothetical to talk, had Prashant visited nepal earlier, would he be honored or not, however, Amit grew up in Meghalaya and was unnoticed by the local state until he was in the final of Indian Idol show. Now here is my point, the governments run after the people who are popular.

Why should ..... 😃😃😃 ohh, everybody tries to get benefit, isn't it? Why should SONY take indian idol contestants to concert in nepal? Why should Udit Narayan come to sing in India? All they do is to benefit themselves. So, Nepal want an Indian Idol to be their tourism ambassador for the benefit of Nepal. Isn't that so simple?

OK dont be technical with me you know what i mean.

Anyways its 4 in the morning here so i need to sleep. We can argue all our lifes and not come to an agreement but I still stand by my POV.

Prashant is an Indian by nationality, destination and employment. Prashant is an employee of Indian police fraternity. Prashant is,was and always be an Indian.

Prashant won Indian idol only because of people of India, Indian police fraternity and sony India. Prashant owes only to these people. So prashant should always work for the betterment of Indian government, Indian police and people of India. So he shouldnt accept this tittle as grand ambassador of tourism for Nepal because he is Bharat Ki Shaan not Nepal ki Shaan or if he decides to accept that tittle then he should step down as Indian Idol.

Is that a part of contract that states Prashant can not accept any other honor while being an Indian idol? Otherwise, why should he step down? He is Bharat ki Shaan, not Nepal ki Shaan, he has not won a nepalese idol contest.😉

I think he should gracefully accept that. and why not? after all he is nepali. Living in India doesn't make a nepali an indian, does it?

They must have a set rules, procedures, and minimum qualifications.

I seriously hope that you are not as naive as you make out, have you ever known any government to do anything without expecting something in return - it may be an honorary title, but it is something that they can fully exploit for their own gain. 😉 call me a cynic if you must, I can never see any Government being transparent about their politics.
