criticizing by sweet talking doesnt help all the time. there are certain contestants who are below average and they are building castles high in the air about being indian idol. having dreams is not bad but what is bad is when it really gets into their heads and they are not even trying to listen to us, then this is where they need a reality check. you have seen one of the contestants, that pseudo superman himesh guy who came for auditions, we are trying to tell him you are not good, but woh chala hi jaa raha hai, and its because of criticizing by sweet talking, ke aap sub ko topi pehna gaya aur hum log ke saamne se woh ticket lekar chala gaya. uski baat chodo, there is this guy who claimed that he had worked with me and he didnt even look appropriate for indian idol, his tune was not in sync, humarey lakh mana karne ke bewajood bhi woh gaye jaaraha hai gaye jaaraha hai, aisey logo ko inki asliyat dikhani chahiye, and that truck guy, mein maanta houn ke woh humble person tha, but he was not good for singing, all i did was tell him what his singing was good for, he can sing while driving truck but cannot sing for indian idol. this is a cut throat competition and we need to be real with them. if i dont criticize them then half of the contestants who had come for auditions would have never even left the venue and would be harping on giving them one chance again and again. if you tell these contestants their mistakes, they would not put as much effort that they would have otherwise put if they were criticized harshly. again i will say this is a professional platform, you should be ready to take every thing that includes good or bad that comes your way

i'll give you another egwhen i strated cooking for the first time my mum used tell me of nicelyabout where i went wrong but when i was still making the same mistake i used to get a right telling off by her and she used to say stuff like "look at girls in your age they know how to make this and they do it without there mothers help"etc etc....and trust me them comments really hepled me, know whenever i cook i give my 110%.....so basically how long can you say to some one nicely that you need improving.....even my driving instructor used to shout at me to get best out of me😛

hope it all makes sense😳

The judges used to taunt a lot during the audition round......even to some exceptional contestants......but anyways we are not discussing whether judges did criticize or not..........we are talking about whether criticism is good or bad..... im not uptodate with II1.........but i from what u wrote, i wanna say just check my first post im not saying they should not be told.........i am saying they should be told but not CRITICIZED.

im not saying we are parents😆........you mean if you point out the mistakes sweetly it would take long time to correct it............and if you say it harshly they would correct it quickly......but theres no point......suppose one II contestant is told tht he is gud but this n this needs to be improved so tht he can do his best......wont he work on his flaws?......but if he is told he was rubbish he had no sur nothing thn he wud spend most of his time being depressed......and thts the fact which we have already witnessed in II many times...........and yes you are right...........thts the world today people wither say good or bad.......they never say to improve..........and for tht they may loose someone or something tht has the poteintiality to improve.

well like i said earlier NO PAIN NO GAIN!!!!!!!

criticism is part of the game honey.....no fame comes without criticism........life does not give chances again and again.....all am trying to say is if you love to hear praises you have to have courage to hear the criticim aswell..... 😳😃 all these big stars hate getting criticized but they only give there BEST when they actually do get criticized.....so criticism does help as i said before 😳😉

great topic 😛

I think it is very important for the judges to criticize the contestants so only then they would be able to find out what is it that they need to work on! Also, most of the time critisizing makes contestants want to work harder to impress the judges and the audience in the future! It is the critisizing that helps the contestants in figuring what is their performance lacking.
