Anu Malik Appreciation Thread - Page 7

Some of my favourite anu malik songs:

aaja mahiya from fiza-udit narayan's one of the best songs

dupatta mera from mujhe kuch kehna hai-peppy and foot tapping

sandesein aatein hain from border-sonu nigaam's masterpiece track

yah kaali kaali aankhen from baazigar, was a superhit track in the 90s.

gori gori and yeh fizayein from main hoon naa

One thing that common in these songs is that anu malik used the tunes and beats which are in sync with what time demands. Many people love him, or even dislike him for his "musical copies", but he has been one of the most versatile musical directors in bollywood.

Main prem ki deewani hoon-this album was grossly underrated in BO.

many of the tracks- chali aayee, sanjana I love you make for good foottapping tracks but a couple tracks that really stand out are -o ajnaabi, mere ajnaabi and kasam ki kasam hai kasam se. For a modern day music, they sound very melodious and of course, romantic. Chitra's voice was really sweet sounding in these 2 tracks.

Thanks for reminding me of another beautiful album from Anu Malik!

^^ Yup, I agree 'Dupatta Mera' is a great pop track. In fact lemme play it now! The 'Agar kare dil tera...' tune is uber catchy!

And as for Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, let's hope we get to hear one of the songs of that album in IF's Indian Idol, because this time K S Chitra is in the contest.

Alka yagnik, Hema Sardesai and Kavita Krishnamurthy's voices complimented Anand bakshi's lyrics perfectly with anu malik's music. But, for me, Yaadein is only good to listen in audio, not in the video as the film was a complete mess.

And KK at what he does best-excel at emotional songs together with sneha pant-another superb track:

the song is heavily edited in the video. The actual song is double the specified time. Again, listening to the audio brings out the true potential of this song.

the film has a song "jab dil miley" which even after 9 years call it "unusual" because of the different style of singing. One positive it has-great background beats after 30 seconds t play in a subwoofer. Choreography is very good, but I still have to digest the video of this song.

The song chamakti shaam hai is of course, typical anu malik classic and the ONLY video from the movie I love, especially the dance and choreography. some people called kareena's costumes out of date, but the 70s look on her really suits well. the song has anu malik's typical peppy beat traits and complimented by sonu nigam and alka yagnik's masti-clad voices, its an absolute gem.

The more you listen, the more you appreciate Hariharan's melodious voice in this. Superb Lyrics by Anand Bakshi!

Anu Malik has been a wonderful composer for these past 2 decades. Anu has given good music to many movies, the ones which I loved the most were
