Nice job done by Shaan and Bhavya!
Though the song is not a very good number and popular one, yet it highlights the good singing none-the-less.
I hope Bhavya gets more opportunities to show case her talent. I wonder why Anu Malik did not give her a song in any of his compositions.

^^ Yh, aaja lehraate is quite a bad song! Unfortunately Anu doesn't have many projects in hand these days, so he can't give Bhavya any songs! His last project was Kambakkht Ishq (released in 2009) which he completed in 2008...

Kambhakt Ishq is not something to go for. I don't want to go into the details that why. As it is an appreciation thread. But, still we can comment that what went wrong with Anu Malik after Main Hoon Naa. His graph should have risen, but after giving s good number of songs in Jane-mann, he has not been able to rise up to the level of Main Hoon Naa.
One of the reasons can be that Anu Malik has not been given enough opportunites. Also, there is a tough competition among the composers in the industry.
I wonder why there are less opportunites for budding singers like Bhavya, Anwesha. It is a great tragedy.

It really is a tragedy that singers have to struggle so much! As for Anu, it's a tragedy and a paradox that he lost support in the industry after giving his biggest musical blockbuster Main Hoon Na. Although I think Jaanemann and Umrao Jaan were far ahead of Main Hoon Na in terms of melody and especially orchestration. The arrangements in both these albums were really some of the best of the decade.

Kambakkht Ishq was quite average though...

Anu Malik as a music composer showed remarkable talent in several movies ....
I noticed people have talked about many of my favorite songs ...from refugee, Virasaat, border , Baazigar, Main hoon naa , Fiza et al....
Here r some more of my favs which r coming to my mind right now
Akele Hum Akele Tum......1.Dil mera churaya kyun
though lifted( 1st 2 lines) from famous George Michael song ...still I love the way he molded it ....
2. Raja ko Rani se pyar ho gaya ....beautifully rendered
Krishna Cottage ..Suna Suna Lamha Lamha...
Yadein....Nagmain Hai Shikhwein Hai...Loveeeee this number 👏
Last but not least ...who could forget Sonu and Anu's one of the best collaborations??😛
Mujhe Kuchh Kahna Hai....Rabba mere Rabba Rabba ..Iss pyar ko main kya naam doon...
Another positivity about Anuji's composition is to make a song hit irrespective of the lyrics ...we do make fun of him with compositions like Uchi hai bulding Lift teri bandh hai, Ek garam chaii ki pyaali ho ...But that's not his fault that he got those lousy lyrics😆 ....He made those lyrics hummable ..that's his credit....
Heard he also helped the struggling artists in their intial stages ...that's really commendable ....BUT
As for Anu Malik as II judge ...well..this is his appreciation thread ...so why not I end it right here right now 😃...
Nice topic..mazaa aa gaya ...

O yes Umrao Jaan, a great album in terms of arrangement, I completely agree. 'Salam' is an excellent track. But one thing is for sure, that Umrao Jaan cannot come up to Main Hoon Naa's status on the basis of popularity because Umrao Jaan tackles with a genre that is not widely listened. An average listener would definitely go for Main Hoon Naa.
Janemann had great numbers as well, like i love the song 'Sau Dard Hain' and 'Ajnabee Shehar'. Still there is not much variety, the same mellow theme goes on. Just 'Jane ke Jane Naa' is a different number, whereas, in Main Hoon Naa there is clear versatility in terms of theme and composition of songs.

Kuhu kuhu - great song list! Soona soona is a typical Anu Malik melody. And truly Rabba Mere Rabba is an awesome track! Ustad Amjad Ali Khan on SRGMP Lil Champs said that it was one of his favourite songs...

Soona Soona Lamha Lamha had been my favourite track since a longgggg time. It has a really catchy melody and passionate lyrics.
Yaadain, one of my most favourite albums. I loved almost all the tracks of this album.. Baatain Bhool Jaati Hain, Yaadein Yaad Aati Hain.. amazingggg track.. and then 'Aye Dil Dil Ki Duniya Main', 'Chamakti Shaam', 'Aeli Re Aeli' and of course the wonderful, passionate song 'Jab Dil Mile'...amazing songs! they created such strong waves when they reached people's ears!
Job well done by Anu Malik!

@Xobile..Thanks ... I remember Rajdeep rendered this song beautifully ( in Sonu's presence) last season....One of the few high points of last year's II....😃
I did watch Ustad Amzad Ali as a guest judge in li'l champ ...the one where Anamika sang Kuhu Kuhu bole koeliya ...right???...but I don't remember his comment on this song ...cool....
