So imho , Imlie’s love is not less , Aryan’s is more.. somewhat like , the only way to make a line seem shorter without erasing it , is to draw a longer line next to it :)

I think this is the most charitable and positive spin we can put on Imlie's love 🤗... Bec by any other standards she is failing

Purandas track: she also wanted to prove her babusaheb innocent and no one can deny that

Arpi track: more than aryan or Arpita she was obsessed with pushing sundar into the family

The JO track: for dost madhav and for cheeku rights. At no point she felt her marriage or her relationship with aryan was in danger bec he does not let her feel that way.

I just want one track where she defies all odds for just him and only him. And not saving his life track bec let's face it, she will risk everything to save the life of an alley cat. Something which she wouldn't do for anyone else.

So i can root for this couple and not just root for aryan to be happy.

so true! what I find frustrating is that I feel aryan has been lost as a character ever since he got married to imlie. she has taken over his life and it is all about her missions, her priorities, her needs, her lectures. where is he in all of this besides being her crutch? does aryan have the power to step back and say 'no' to anything imlie decides to do -- why does it feel like she will whine and cry and get him to do it eventually her way? it feels like more and more, aryan has been disappearing -- that is what happens when one person loves another more, while their partner cares but does not return the feeling with the same depth.

like jaz said, we didn't get to see her fall in love. the duk duk, the awareness, the frizzle, the sizzle. it was like arranged marriage ho ga ya love. just all of a sudden happened. imlie feels like she is doing her duty and is appreciative of him but I don't feel like she has done anything for him. she loves him but is not in love with him.

yes, she runs around like crazy when he gets hurt but as blue aunty pointed out, he gets hurt because of imlie. all of these things happen because imlie lives like a single woman and refuses to inform anyone what she is up to. blue aunty says a lot of snarky things but many of them seem on point. that is a problem when you as the audience are agreeing with a villain's perspective that imlie is not in love with aryan the way he is.

we don't see aryan having a life of his own and making decisions for himself. instead, he is there to tag along and support her. where is she supporting him in what he does? when has she allowed him to make a decision and stuck by it?

she won't even tell him when she is stepping out. that is basic common courtesy when you live together in a house even if you are just roommates. instead, she continously lies to the family about her activities. basically she acts like a single woman who is stuck with a meddlesome family and has to lie to go have fun with her friends; why do you have to lie about where you go? that looks rather dysfunctional. 🤷

yes she loves him but not in love with him the writer focuses on ayan side and they forgot about imlie and to make matters worst there was no realisation no build up to imlie confession it just happened and the connection is lost with the character the same audience have seen her love for akt and were expecting to see her process of falling for ayan but nothing it get frustrating you known if they were writing ayan as a character who is in a one-sided love I would have understood but that is not the intention in jo track they have the opportunity to show that aspect of her been jealous but they spend it on how to murder imlie in different ways

so true; even jo kept displaying signs of jealousy whereas imlie never did. there is blind trust but come on, we never saw her even see jo as a threat to the marriage. it does feel like one sided love from aryan's love -- we got to see his heartbeat race, his awareness, the frizzle and sizzle. everything was from his side. we never saw it from hers. she just randomly accepted his love because she was so grateful it seemed like.

Aryan does it because

1) he wants her to never feel alone like in her prev relationship. So he becomes her rock her support sys. She had so many hang ups about being accepted that she became a people pleaser and goes to any extent for them. He on the other hand gives her that acceptance without any effort on her part. The sad part is that she doesn't recognise it

2)he loves her so darn much. Even in this guddiya track, he takes her to Malini's house because he says he wont let anything come between them. Today also he was like i will never leave you... But here the sad part is that losing aryan or messing up her marriage is not even in Imlie's mind. All her thoughts are about guddiya guddiya guddiya. She is just not bothered about how all this is affecting their relationship. It's not even a passing thought. He can see it and is trying to stop it but won't be able to bec she just doesn't care

he is a giver and she is a bottomless-quenchless taker. with some people, that works for them. they are both happy in such dysfunction. in this case, at some point, aryan will snap and we already see his patience getting frayed. we can see he needs more -- which is why it is very frustrating to watch imlie.

a healthy love requires give and take from both sides.

in this case, it does not comes across heathy or equal. I really want more for him. because it is one sided, we feel like imlie does not love him as much as he loves her.

this gudiya track has got me out of the addiction and I am unable to root for them too when ayan was going through his I am not the father phase his priority was clear same can't be said for imlie all that she had done for ayan had other people involved for her the writer focuses on words not actions when BL took the slot leader in trp I went to watch it out of curiosity the connection no matter how shitty the story is or bad the actor if the audience can connect with the characters is a win

Good that you made this thread. Yesterday, after watching the below scene, I wanted to make a thread to the CVs on how hard they are trying to make Imlie connected to the audience using Aryan. Which itself means that, CVs too know Aryan behaving as a normal human being connects well with the audience.

https://twitter.com/i/status/1548002089137164288

But, that doesn't mean Imlie is wrong or she doesn't love Aryan as much as he does. She herself in the last track voiced it out that Aryan is another name of Love to her. We should not forget how before the Jo track, Imlie was seen praying to Sita Mayya to give her a break from all the sort of negativities happening around her and how she was literally pleading with Sita Mayya, before the confession, to let her have atleast few moments of happiness. So, it's not that she doesn't want to enjoy a happy life. She does. But then, considering the way she was harassed as an abandoned child by her villagers, the moment she sees someone in need or pain, her childhood insecurities gets triggered and forces her to go out of the way. Making it look like she is always on a mission. 😔

shabia -- loved what you wrote ❤️; I agree with your post 👏. I cannot relate to imlie's constant mahaan either. no matter the psychology, I feel that imlie is not right for him and I want better for aryan. if it wasn't for aryan, I would have dropped this show altogether.

and yes, I keep seeing her so emotinally manipulative that I feel sorry for malini. people may hate her but am able to see how imlie's actions had such a destructive impact on her where she has lost all sense of goodness. basically imlie has taught malini that if you are good and fair, people like imlie will turn it around, emotionally manipulate you and then stab you in the back.

I hate how imlie cries and whines and aryan just buckles. it feels very unhealthy and I hate that they keep showing it over and over again.
