Hello registration is not required in lot of places , when I got married my marriage was not registrated. We only got registered when we had to come to USA . And even if registration is required in places and you don't resgidter you will get a fine your marriage will not get nullified . Same goes for marriages in villages where most of them are not registered.
If you haven’t registered your marriage in the court, you still have to go through the same legal divorce proceedings to officially separate from your partner. The Indian government recognizes all marriages that have been officiated under religious rituals and ceremonies.
So ideally Adi should have nullified the marriage with imlie before marrying Malini , he didn't do it so his second marriage is illegal and Malini could slap case againt him on concealing the marriage .
This divorce is needed for Malini for her and her society they need to go through either divorce procedure or case against Adi ,
