Basically coddling and pampering is all Malini responds to and understands....you take that away from her, she's like an addict with withdrawal symptoms.....that is what we are seeing unraveling these days I guess cuz seeing Imlie get attention makes Malini feel like she isn't getting exclusive pampering anymore.

Bilkul theek.. this was the woman who wanted attention while dying too 🤣 that will never be any less funnier to me how she was like whatever I can't do anything to save myself either 🤣 first give me pep talk and then I will see and try maybe but other than that am resigned 🤣 I know koi toh aake mujhe bacha hi lega at some point now that imlie is here and rescue will be here

for awhile I was still latch to have faith in her, ignoring what she do her tone, her face expressions, because I don't want to believe this kind soul could be this mean!

I was really amazed by her selective memory and flips , and how come she ignore all that!

but after last episode I gave up on her, it was super clear, that sweet mask was her last layer which peeled away now!

she is insecure, possessive , want to be center of attention all the time by the whole family, even at the dinning table when they ask Imlie Admission, she didn't let her speak, she directly snap the chance and jump to tell the family!

so yes I think she is will written and will played by MD , it is just us and our wishes and assumptions, we need to see her in fresh eye, I just need to rewatch the show from #1 so I can understand her character much more!

and also I now suspect that she forget the lame jock too, and that is why she have been this aggressive toward imlie putting it, but they are not showing us now, because she don't want to accept this till now! because once Adi come clean it will be a fact which she can not ignore anymore!

like what they did with Adi realization, they never show us his attention to every detail he remember about imlie!

Now Adi has recognized his true self and is owning it completely. His real self is a more positive/open version of the suppressed self he was living for so long....while for Malini, unfortunately, her real self is turning out to be the polar opposite....much darker, vindictive, elitist, insecure....all the emotions she suppressed for so long with a sweet facade are now pouring out in the worst way possible. Yes, now she has to fully walk this path that she has chosen to decide if she does indeed want to live through her mom's version of herself or choose something better for herself in the long run.

Moments of crisis are the true test of character....Adi has made many mistakes but ultimately in moments of crisis, his conscience never left him....he ultimately did recognize right from wrong....that basic moral grounding was never lost....yes, even as he was mistreating Imlie, his conscience did prick him many times. While for Malini, crisis is revealing yet again that she was never anchored correctly from a moral angle....her sense of right and wrong is totally dissipating as she acts on her worst impulses. She will not move to a better place unless she finds the courage to face who she truly is....not the sweet facade she has been presenting. Adi had the courage to face his true self after a lot of denial....remains to be seen if Malini will ever have that.

Imlie is the only one here who has been comfortable in being her true self always. She is the purest soul of the three for that very reason.

@bold - absolutely. And that is what Imlie recognizes too. Apart from the fact that he was her husband and his space in her life sealed, she saw him for what he was. A man with blemishes but one who does not hesitate to do the right thing. The bullet incident was that - however much she thought he disliked her she saw that he did not let go until she was safe which she thanked him for later. A lot similar to Satyakam, the only male influence in her life. This is also why people accept Aditya’s redemption to a large extent.

Malini on the other hand has consciously decided to go down the wrong route - because her mother is her only significant influence. Dev has been too weak to have any impact on her other than being the reason why she is weaker than she thinks of herself to be. It will be interesting to see how far they push her down this dark path and if they ever bring her back enough to atone.

And the contrast could not be more striking - Malini the modern woman with privileges many can only dream of and Imlie with setbacks that everyone prays to be defended against.

Agreed. She has totally suppressed the bridge incident which was the clearest proof of what Adi feels for Imlie....I feel even the writers likely waffled a bit on that front about whether to begin Malini's unraveling from that incident....remember that precap they gave us and then totally cut out from the actual epi? 😆....where Malini was indeed maaroing sugary taunts about Adi-Imlie ka sabse gehra rishta? lol so I guess the writers wanted to walk it back then and save it for now......I guess they wanted Adi's realization to take precedence before Malini fully unleashes this side of her.....lol

Yes, the exchange with Sundar on VD was quite telling too....when she suspected that receipt of being proof of her suspicion, she was talking very condescendingly with Sundar also....and then later reverted to sugariness with Adi when she was "confessing" what she had suspected about him gifting that outfit to Imlie😆.....it is still staggering to me the level of twisted she is😆.....and LOL@ Adi being hilariously clueless back then also thinking ki "Moon samjhengi"....hahahahaha

Oh I remember that chop 😆 I am so glad they waffled. This series of incidents actually make the progress more seamless. Her shakki bits until then were just her omnipresent need to just follow Aditya around.

I hope they use that VD bit some day for Aditya to tie it all together. He was flummoxed that Imlie knew Malini’s reaction to the gift better than he did. And was that the first internal tamasha she took to an outsider? Asking someone else directly about her doubts on Aditya? Sunder has some gumption toh he was able to respond with a straight face. Anyone else would have faltered very easily.

I thought it had more to do with with him trying to earn brownie points and become the fav but then he dropped that formality with adi too very soon even though adi hired him and initially his whole goal was to get adi ka approval and be ahead of imlie.. which means he probably felt that formality way too soon and knew where to not mess and warned imlie too.

Sunder was actually very prescient immediately after. That interaction spurred him on to go to Imlie with that small counsel of his. That is what being a nice person actually does - people actually let you know when you need some guidance so that you do not err. Imlie’s goodwill is what will always save her in the form of karma.

Which is why Malini will find herself isolated at the end of it all - she already is in a sense because everyone around her walk on eggshells. Like has Pankaj ever wanted to hug Malini with the warmth that he displays with Imlie? That’s why Sunder too obviously decided that it was not worth crossing her after the VD incident

How can we forget that 🤣 Who does that! I mean they did make it seem like she saved a few other people before getting to that place of no return but that disinterest in her own life even when help comes calling was so funny.

@bold +1 Everything is just that. Everything for her all the time, in the exact way she wants. Basically remote controlled robots running around her catering to her needs according to her frequency.

I am so happy the way malini’s character is developing. She took charge of her relationship instead crying for her love. It’s about time 👏👏👏

Do you really think that this is the right way to take charge of a relationship? If yes !, then she should earnestly ask questions to her husband about his absence and current behaviour with her but she demands ' haq' and not bothered about his ranting about ' hum bhi 7 saal diye '.She is targeting the weaker one among the two suspects . I'm sure that she will forget all of this if her husband starts pampering her and making her his sole business. She is trying to take inspiration from a broken and failed marriage which will result in another failure.

She is keeping tab on her husband and trying to be noticed by him --- how lame is that ! She is not targeting accusation to her husband as if she has hopes that they will be reconciled in the future and she can't make him bear the burnt at present . Asking questions to her husband will not bring catastrophic result to her marriage . Unfortunately she never asks but deviate from asking the right thing at the right time.Who will tolerate that her husband is saving their household help but not her !! Did she had the guts to ask her husband ? No !! This proves her intention of being desperately trying to be in the good book of her husband. She gets angry seeing that her husband is taking medicine from another woman and not grateful that someone is taking care of him .She is basically insecure of her place in his life ( watch epi 8 or 9 ) . I don't think this is the empowered version of Malini 2.0 but the destructive force of her own marriage.

Same, I am still not sure even the writers wanted her to come out the way she did, I think to the general audience she’ll remain only ‘the victim’. Many tend to ignore the other aspects of her personality or not see them at all because of how used to we are of being spoon fed stuff like that with constant monologues etc maybe. But maybe they did write her the way we’re interpreting it because I remember one more scene in Malini’s wedding her friends ridiculed imlie saying something like the servant’s looking like a bride? I don’t remember the exact words but aisa kuch tha and malini’s reply was stop it guys or something right? Like we would say stop joking and roll our eyes at something we don’t care about on the inside but want to seem like we do on the outside. I don’t really remember though, I want to watch the episodes from the start too it’ll be interesting seeing her in this new light.
