In any relationship both parties have to work hard to keep it alive and life is unpredictable, you get both the good and the bad, it's how you deal with the situation around it defines who you are and what you can be capable of.

Thank you so very much :) - true our actions define us.

Aptly said that there are diff couples who have a diff life altogether and no one couple is similar to the other ..and ONLY n ONLY the one who experiences the pain has a right to judge how n wht he or she wants ...

Having said tht sahir TILL date has been shown to be a man who is firmly grounded to his roots and has been given an upbringing tht makes him RESPECT women n I hence refuse to believe tht he will lead ARZOO on when there would be hope for Zeenat to get back to him ...

I strongly believe there is much more than wht meets the eye ..n his having feelings for ARZOO or even being attracted to her HAS to be a trigger to the fact tht Zeenat n his relation might not have been very intimate one or to say a happy one atleast ...which can be on account of anything ,,

STILL the man punishes himself cos he feels he is attracted to ARZOO which could be wrong

N hence I want to see wht the Cvs have planned n see how this goes

Also I know the PH makes good show's n I for one will wait for this to unfold

Cheers

Thanks :) - I too hope that the story unfolds in a manner that stays true to the characters of Sahir and Arzoo as it has been portrayed up until now - two people who are intrinsically honest and good at heart.

its pretty justified on sahir's part to keep this pain of betrayal to himself...he is human afterall...not god...a person who is cheated by his own wife...he doesn't even know where he went wrong as a husband...he deserves some answers...and those answers lie with zeenat...
it takes a lot of strength for any human to keep his betrayals...his pain...his sufferings all bottled up... an easier path for him would've been to let the world know...get their sympsthy...and just walk out of the relationship...

but...it does take a lot of courage to wait for the day wen his questions will be answered...

Affairs of the heart cannot be predicted. But I feel that we do not lead our lives just based on emotions; but also with responsibility towards loved ones in our life. That responsibility also falls under the umbrella of integrity.

Here, Sahir miya is hell bent on keeping it all a secret. Worse still he is shown as hitting himself- so regressive. It is like doping yourself and then cutting your wrists. Borders on mental instability. In affairs of heart; one has to beware of unstable people.

Btw, welcome to the forum. Hoping to read more thought provoking posts from you.

Thank you :). I too really enjoy most of the posts on this forum cause there are really interesting discussions on it.
"In affairs of heart, one has to beware of unstable people." LOL. I agree. But I do hope that Sahir is only extremely stressed out, depressed and wracked by guilt and not unstable :).
Though it would have been something if they showed a hero flawed or should I say someone with a weakness beyond his control. But nah! I'd rather read about them in books and watch them in movies. In my rather limited daily soap quota, I want my hero to be tall, dark, handsome and who, despite his faults, comes out defeating the dark forces and winning his 'true' love. I want my 30 minutes of fairy tale romance :).

All i want to see how strong the makers are going to unfold Sahir's past because that is something which is going to justify the now well portrayed character of Sahir Azeem Chaudary - ! Fingers crossd I am keeping my hopes high 😛

Thank you :)
My hopes are high too :) - for Sahir's past and the way things will work out in the future - I am kind of guessing that things will work out! Right? Or do they do the whole art movie thing in TV land too and let things end depressingly sadly ... I so hope not!

Thank you for this post, Junoonian. Brilliantly written and much needed point of view. It hasn't just been here but even elsewhere I've seen when a character shows the slightest bit of attraction for another while still in a relationship (even though it's only in name) they are termed as characterless or immoral when they don't even act out on those impulses. The matters of the heart are far more complex and subjective than being black or white, right or wrong. In real life you do come across stories of people who met their soul mates while being married or in a relationship with other people and over here Sahir's wife has been in a coma for 7 years and from what we know so far it doesn't seem to be the most loving or successful of marriages. Plus he seems to have taken a lot of pains to guard his heart and deny all joy & other emotions from affecting him so far. And now after all this time finally someone cracks through that shell and he himself is left confused at the feelings Aarzoo elicits in him and severely punishes himself for it. Like you said, you can never predict when love enters your life but all that matters is how you handle yourself in such a situation. And from what we've seen so far of Sahir he has been honorable hence will do right by both Zeenat as well as Aarzoo.

Of course it remains to be seen whether the makers/CVs will do right by these characters and their story. However it turns out this track has definitely piqued my interest again in this show.

Thank you for your kind words :)
You have said it - this would have been just another humdrum love story I guess... this triangle where the heroine could just be the other woman... while heartbreaking in a way... also lends the story that much more depth. Somehow it adds more pathos and drama to Sahir and Arzoo's love story, Even I am hooked cause I really want to know how things are resolved. I hope it is not treated in a banal and superficial manner but treated with maturity and intelligence. I also hope that things are resolved and Arzoo and Sahir do end up together. Die hard romantic that I am :)

u know...love is something that just happens...u just have no control over it...
ppl spend all their lives living like a "happily married couple"...but if u just notice them a bit more deeply...u realise...its more of an obligation they are trying to portray...its not love actually...

very few ppl in this world r blessed with someone whom they actually love...and someone who loves them back in the same manner...

all other so called perfect relationships in this world r a farce...obligations that ppl r forced to live with..be it for family...children...husband...wife...etc...

sahir...is a person...who has lived in that relationship...a relationship which has marred both his past and present...he's hurt...he's broken...and if he finds love in aarzoo...there is nothing immoral or wrong in it...

he has been betrayed in life...he needs somebody to hold him...to help him gather the pieces of him...and move on...

Thank you :)
You know Vandy you have nailed it when you said that in many cases marriages are more an obligation rather than the loving union of two people. I am guessing this very obligation is going to be played out in Humsafars for a while now.
I had read somewhere that right and wrong, moral and immoral are man-made concepts. It is an interesting thought. Of course these rules do act as a guideline and help us co-exist in a peaceful manner in a modern, 'civilized' society. But still I think, in matters of the heart, there is so much of angst and pain in some cases cause these so-called rules don't take into account emotions that are not bound by logic.
Anyways... I hope the Humsafars don't end up being Humsuffers :)

Yes true this! I didn't even think about it - about Sahir talking about his pain. That would be so against the character right! A weaker man may have.
Sahir is too used to bearing the burdens and responsibility of life. In that he and Arzoo are so similar - she also wouldn't talk about her problems to anyone and everyone - remember her mum being ill in Lucknow and the interrogation by Anam.
