I'm actually extremely glad about Arzoo losing this challenge because Sahir was very right, that without a label Arzoo is who is virtually a nobody in the fashion business, cannot do anything. Talent isn't everything and ripping the blindfold off of Arzoo's eyes was so important for what's to come next.
But here's what's even more interesting, it's that Sahir
likes this. He likes pushing Arzoo to the best of her limits, he likes forcing her to show who she really is and how hard working she truly is, because that is how she surprises him. Despite himself Arzoo's already got a hold on him and it's because of how amused he is in her presence, how much he does not know her and through testing/challenging her
begins to know more of her. And Arzoo only continues to learn and break her ego because of his challenges. We're seeing Arzoo go from a headstrong girl who, although completely believing of her capabilities, has no idea how the real world works, and Sahir is
willingly paving that road for her. I can't help but believe that he sees something in her he once used to have in himself, a spark of some kind that he can't deny her.
Sahir is so quiet in his authority and even more so in how he continually helps Arzoo despite her hesitations. And now with her throwing her resignation at him in a moment of impulse she's caught between her turmoil of ego and being the breadwinner of her household. The more Arzoo fights what Sahir is intentionally teaching her, the less she will learn and the less of him she will understand. Sahir is her boss and he isn't going out of his way to make her life miserable which I love. Because time and time again the boss is written as malicious and taking underhanded means to ruin the female lead, but here we have the exact opposite. Sahir is going out of his way to make sure Arzoo gets the exposure she needs to becomes the person she wants to be. I can't handle it I squeal so much about this because it's just so refreshing to me. Sahir is the mentor she needs but definitely does not want.
So now what does Sahir do upon reading her resignation letter? He promotes her! To junior designer no less. If at this point Arzoo doesn't believe that Sahir isn't her enemy I don't know what will change her mind, because her biggest problem right now is her ego and I can't blame her because of the way Sahir presented his point, by humiliating her. But a part of me can't help but think he did it on purpose, to see how she would react, to see what she would do next. Promoting her to junior designer after seeing her resignation letter only proves that not only does he respect her and her talent, but he wants her to be better and to strive for nothing less than the best, because he is fully aware she is capable of success. He knows now that she is hungry to be known, hungry to be at the top, is ambitious and will not take lightly to disrespect, and so he does the one thing he knows will show her he does respect her, and thus promotes her.
It's so telling how calm Sahir is and how ferocious Arzoo is because where Sahir thinks with his head, Arzoo thinks with her heart and he knows she needs to be sometimes ignorant to her emotions in order to be successful. He is the patient man behind the successful woman, and I have no doubt that in the future he will stand behind her with all the joy and compassion in the world as she climbs her way to the top. Oh how I wish we see this, Sahir being her road to success and Arzoo in the fore front with him backing her up with the utmost pride. They are such a powerful dynamic in that he will make her realize the truth of the world and she will make him realize the truth of his heart. Her extroversion will heal his internal injuries, and his introversion will rip the blindfolds off her rose coloured but peculiarly jaded way of viewing the world. In her healing of his heart, he will not only continue to stand by her side and push her to the best of her abilities but he will prove that not all men are the same, and sometimes when it's right the man does stay. Always by her side, proving to be her strength, he is truly in so many ways her humsafar already. And I'm so overjoyed that this is happening before the reveal of his past, because to have this and then go into the knowledge of Sahir's past it will be interesting to see how Arzoo comes out with the same knowledge.
Sahir is beginning to show us just how important he will be to Arzoo in the future, let's see if the writers can do the same about Arzoo in regards to Sahir's past.
