In yesterday episode Saagarika was insisting Bunty to bring Ammaji to her father place, because according to her, Pinto is upset. And she is not ready to hear any explanation from Bunty. And that she is also adjusting or getting accustomed in Bunty's house.

How many of you think Saagarika is right in her Point.

According to me I find little stubbornness in her. Keeping Amma's ego and insecurity aside, there is this view that an Orthodox Bhramin cannot eat or drink in a place where Non-Veg is cooked, off course the situation will be different when he/she has to eat in a restaurant where no body knows how the meal is cooked. I think Sag's is a little bit haste. Bring in your views guys.

I think we can give correct solution for this cross culture situation.

I did find Saagarika's insistence on bring Amma along a bit unreasonable but only because she was adding to Bunty's woes, not because of the reason given by Amma.

In fact, a vegetarian can safely go to a friend or relative's house who is a non-vegetarian as they can be trusted to keep the sanctity of their word whereas, in a restaurant, you never know which spoons, cooking utensils, ingredients are used behind the scenes. So I found Amma being obstinate and unreasonable on this too.

I also don't think that Sags was unreasonable.
Vegetarian or Non Vege, the heart should be golden. What about the groceries she buys, is it from the Vegetarian shop, touched by only Vegetarian peeps?
If this is the case then Ammaji should take Sanyaas. Everything will be smelling pure then.

Ammaji behaved exactly like my mother would have done.
but she visited all such places.& restricted herself to only Cold Drinks & Desserts.😛
but Sags was right to insist on calling her MIL.One has to try to move on with times. 😃

I think Amma could go without eating anything... have some bottled juice or cold drink and namkeens.
She's a big fusspot 😛

thank you for your response. But still I think Sag's should give some time to Amma though Amma is not giving any time nor she is trying to understand Sag's.

Sometimes to win over somebody a step backwards may help.

I can totally get why Sagarika did what she did. I am like that, I would take insults from my MIL and keep quiet but I cannot take anything against my parents, thats where the line is drawn. It is so hard to see your parents get insulted. Hence Sagarika's reaction. She did mention that seperate dishes will be used to prepare vegetarian food and Amma should show respect by going there. Even if she doubts them she should just go there to meet them if she doesnt want to eat anything. She just showed how stubborn she is and just making her self feel important by saying all this.

I feel she is right.

Anybody insults me, I can deal with it, but if insult my family I take it personally and it will be hard for me to forgive the person.

Sagarika can take insults but insulting her father will hard for her to digest.

I am a vegetarian and I have friends who are all non-veg. They know I am veg and they do cook veg meal whenever I visit them.

My neighbors are Americans and they invite me for Thanks Giving, I take rice and beans with me and eat with them😆
