Just after the trial, Zara lost it completely and fainted. Rishi ran to her, not letting her fall down. Zara's tear trickled down her cheek and all she could say was Rishi. Those tears and the broken sound of "Rishi" for once jarred his hatred towards her. Soon he was brought back by the doctor who had come in to inspect. Rishi moved away still looking at her and then Indira and was totally numb. He was lost as to who he should be with, Indira, his first love or the one who is ready to do anything for him, who even killed someone for... He stiffened and realized that Zara had killed Savita and that was it, the end. His thoughts were interrupted by the doctor. The doctor told him to relax. The doctor proceeded towards the witness box and told the judge that he needs to run some tests on Zara and her sudden outburst may very well be a symptom of some temporary insanity. The judge allowed to do so and the court was adjourned for an hour. Later, the doctor told the court that Zara indeed is temporarily insane but can be brought back to normal in a few months or years time which would depend on how much she cooperates. The judge then announced the decision. Rishi was sitting with his fingers crossed , little did he know the answer to why were his fingers intertwined. Judge announced that Zara being mentally unfit would stay under supervision and medical treatment until she is no more a threat. Rishi sighed and left the court room to have look at Zara who was already being treated in an ambulance. Rishi, not being able to look at her in this condition, looked away and left the compound.
Back at SN, Rishi started blaming himself for it. He always was lost in his own thoughts and behaved randomly.
Few days later, Munna came up to him and consoled him. Munna said that he totally understood what he was going through but he was not the one responsible but the situations. He said that Indira, even though is his first love but Zara is his wife and he has some responsibilities towards her. He added that Zara does not know of her past and in the present, Rishi has been the only person who she knows and who she loves and on the top of that she is unwell mentally and he should tend to her. Munna offers him some whisky which he rejects. He thinks of what he had promised her when they came to Delhi post marriage.
*Flashback*
Rishi says, "mujhe manane ki kya kya kya planning ki hai aapne?"
"Sab kuch mai hi karungi toh aap kya karenge Mr. Rishi Kumar? "
Rishi swayed his hands like he is going to recite a romantic poem "Maiii..." he said "...subah se sham tak , shaam se le kar raat tak , raat se subah tak aur fir subah se
raat tak" Zara is nodding all the while and Rishi says "apse pyaar karunga" in a go.
Zara says "banduk nikalu? "
Rishi cutely replies that "aap har chhoti chhoti baat pe aise banduk nikalengi toh kaise kaam chaalega"
Zara tells him to go and when he starts leaving , Zara stops him and says "jaldi aiyega."
*flashback ends*
Rishi " aur mai kabhi wapas hi nahi aaya shayad"
He rushed to his bikes and leaves for the hospital.
He goes to the doctor and asks him about Zara and doctor explains him how it was not really Zara who was at fault but her illness. The doctor tells him that Zara is not really cooperating, she just sits alone and keeps reading and writing but there is still an improvement, she has started realizing her fault but sometimes hurts herself for the same reason. Rishi asks him if that means she is O.K. and can be taken back home. The doctor tells him that in these cases they don't let go off the patient without the court's permission and that too without being certain that she is perfectly O.K. and that Zara hitting herself means she is not really back to normal self yet.
Rishi goes to her room and looks at her, writing something in a journal. He enters and Zara turns around to find him. She had tears in her eyes and she immediately tries to leave the room. Rishi holds her back and hugs her. She tries getting out of embrace because of the guilt. Rishi hugs her tight and caresses her. Zara ultimately stops fidgeting and gives in and sobs endlessly. Rishi kisses her hair and pats her gently. She closes her eyes and keeps sobbing. Rishi pulls her up to make her stand on his shoes. He realizes that she had grown weak. A tear trickled down his cheek. He carries her to bed and sits down with her. She kept sobbing and drifted into sleep. He gently made her lie down and that is when he noticed the journal. He thought of opening it but decided against it. While keeping it aside , something fell down. He noticed it was their picture which was torn apart and Zara had scribbled all over her own figure in the picture. He looked at it and tears made his sight hazy. He kept it back in the diary and noticed it was 14th February and she had written all about how beautiful as a person Rishi is and how she ruined everything in his life. The page was scribbled all over in frustration. He turned to look at Zara and promised to return soon and that this time he meant it. He returned with a bunch of flowers and sat beside her.
Zara woke up and saw Rishi sitting beside her. She sat back and Rishi rushed to help her. She looked up to him and before he could look back took her eyes off him, unable to face him. Zara "S...Sor" that's when Rishi placed his hands on her lips not allowing her to speak further.
Rishi says "I am sorry , shrim..." he stops and continues "makanmalkin ji ki bhalai dekhte dekhte mai apka dhyan thik se rakh hi nahi paya"
She swayed her head sideways trying to tell him not to say so. Tears made their way out of both their eyes and they slipped into each other's arms. They broke away from the hug and rested their forehead on each other's. Rishi softly said "I love you Mrs. Zara Rishi Kumar, will you be my valentine?"
Zara says "you still love me?"
"True Love never comes to an end, it might have to face tests though"
To this, Zara looks at him with pain visible in her eyes. He wipes her tears and adds " Will you dance with me," to cheer her , he added ".. my not yet confirmed Valentine?" he winked.
Zara was still reluctant. Rishi says "I was just trying to be gentleman, but if you want me to force myself then be it... shadi ki hai apse... ab mujhe dance ke liye bhi kya ijazat leni padegi" with fake anger.
Zara keeps looking at him admiringly.
He helps her get up and grabs her waist and gently pulls her close. She rests her head on his shoulder.
He sways about but he could feel his shoulder getting wet.
He closed his eyes still swaying here and there and then whispered "mai hamesha apke saath hu... hamesha"
Hearing this, Zara hugged him as tight as she could and he just caressed her back gently.
"Kya aap mere sath nahi rehna chahti"
She was confused and looked up to him. He said "fir aap apna treatment karane me kotahi kyu kar rahi hai"
Zara said "par apko meri ek baat man'ni hogi "
"shart... koi shart wart nahi hai..."
He thinks "ek baar shart ki wajah se kya kya bhugatna pada hai... is baar Rishi tu nahi jhuk sakta"
Zara says "kyu? ap mujhse milne nahi ayenge"
"oh! ye shart hai? aunga na... mai zarur aunga"
Making sure that Zara will now let doctors treat her properly and get back to normal soon made him happy. He smiled at her and made her lie down. She asked him about the family and kept crying in between whenever she realised what she had done. A little while later, she took her medicines and slept because of them. Rishi looked at the journal again and even though he did not want to invade her privacy , with a hope of understanding her better when she needs it, he stood up and started reading it. It had an account of each event and day they had been together. He kept smiling till it mentioned of Indira's arrival. He read it and realized how much Zara had gone through and how each obstacle they had faced had a magnified effect on Zara. He felt responsible. He threw himself on top of her and cried his heart out. Zara woke up suddenly and patted him. He said "mujhe maaf kar dijiye, mujhe kabhi pata hi nahi chala ki aap par kya guzar rahi thi... mujhe maaf kar dijiye". She saw her journal in his hand and understood what he was talking about.
Rishi trying to convey his apologies and Zara trying to tell him not to take the blame hugged each other as tightly as they could.
