Hi! I know while reading the magical books of Harry Potter nothing can distract you. And these the most flawless and amazing books anyone has ever read. But in Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix I think there is a little flaw. I have heard about other flaws, but I found explanations and answers for those by myself. But for this one I'm not sure if I had missed anything or not. It's about the book of potion that helped Harry, which was actually was Snape's. But Harry found that it was a 50 yr old book and that's why he thought that it can;t be his parents or any of their friends. Then howcome it can be Snape's? When Snape was same old as his parents? I know it's not a big deal. It cannot even hamper a little of the greatness of the books. But as it's the only flaw that I found that's why I'll be very glad if anyone can clarify this.

well is the book 50 yrs old??? 😕 I must have missed it.... 😳

But if it is, the explanation is that it first belonged to Eileen Prince. Hermione says that she had been right abt the book once belonging to Eileen Prince . Eileen Prince was Snape's Mother. He must have inherited it from her.

The book in question belonged to Eileen Prince. She later on went on to marry a Muggle Tobias Snape. She later on gave it too Severus when he went to Hogwarts.

So that explains why the book is 50 years old and why it was Snape's.

and yes as lrl_rocks said very rightly the passage that you mention is from HBP and not OotP as you said.

Oh right 😳. It was my mistake. I read the last three in a row, that's why I mixed up. Thanks anyway.
