well we all know that snape had family problems and that he was poor so he could not afford a new book therefore his book was purchased second handed

^^^Yeah Snape's family was really poor..what with his dad n mom bickering at each other! But I dun think he brought a secod ghand book..It must have been his mother's book..Coz Hermione says in HBP end that she had been right abt the book once belonging to Eileen Prince, she was Snape mother!
