Chapter 2 - The Weakened Explosion.

The next week was one of the best in both Lily's and James' lives.What with everyone gaping at them like idiots whenever they greeted or chatted or even smiled with/at each other.

Lily couldn't forget the expression on her friends' and the Marauders' faces when James and Lily had been talking with each other in the train.But Lily didn't undetrstand why she had hated James so very much.He was very cool and amusing and yes a bit arrogent.But it was not that bad.He didn't even change himself, he was just the same old James Potter - the bullying toerag she had known.Except now that he was the Head Boy he had stop jinxing people around just for the fun of it.There were exceptions or better just one exception.But she didn't mind that particular exception being taunted by James as it was none other than Serveus Snape.He had been into the hobby of calling Lily 'Mudblood'.But he had always restricted calling her that when James was around (as it was James' sensitive point).But these days that is from when he had found out she and James were friends he had completely stopped!!!So her newly attained friendship with James had all advantages but no disadvantages.
But that was not why she loved being around James.Actually she didn't even know why she loved being around him.It was inevitable but enjoyable.She loved the way James waited for her in the common room before leaving to breakfast just to say 'Good Morning'.And she also loved the way he tried to catch her eye in class.She loved the way heoffered to carry her bag (but she always snapped at him when he did so).And she also loved the way he rumpled his hair.But the best thing was the way he smiled.Lily had never know why many girls fell for that flash and idiotic smile he gave them as personally it had never affected her.But the smile he gave her these days were so warm and genuine.It seemed as if his eyes were burning with the passion to live everytime Lily looked into his adorable hazel eyes.Lily wanted to be his friend forever.She needed no other relationship with James Potter.But this warm friendship.

James Potter was flying the whole time the past few days.He knew Lily was only his friend and that he had to control himself.But nothing ever crossed the limit when he was with Lily.He was expecting to do something unexpected when he was with her out of exitement.But he suprised even himself.The confusing part is how Lily suddenly seemed to liked him.He saw no change in himself.He was just the same old James Potter.The proof for this statement was that if he had changed Sirius would have taken the mickey out of him.But that confusion was always at the back of his head.He just felt that the best change that had ever happened in his life was this.Talking with Lily without any kind of bickering or yelling.He always loved talking with her.Talking with her was not that very difficult as he thought.She was just like his friends.Not like Sirius of course, maybe like Remus.But she was also a bit mischeivious inside deep down.But it was too deep down so it was to difficult for her to mess up like himself.But he liked her the way she was.Authoratative,Bossy,Punctual,Brillant,Short Tempered,Sarcastic and ....... of course very preety.
But this was not what James ever wanted.Friendship -with Lily Evans.He had always imagined her as his girlfriend or something like that.But never this.He knew he had to go slow but this was too exhasperating.But he didn't mind it though.He loved to see his 'love of life' to smile at him,to talk with him,to sit next to him,to greet him.The Preety Evans was now his friend.She was considering him.He loved to see his friends faces gaping at him when they laughed together.It was expected after all.Five years of the chasing he had done behind Lily Evans was finnally having its worth.He loved Lily Evans after all.

On Saturday morning, Lily woke up with a start at 9am and after putting up her dressing robes she thundered out of the door waking up her room mates -Irene,Amy,Alice,Kate.They wondered why she was behaving so wierd.She usually woke up late on the weekends.

'Good Morning Lily!'they heard James voice from the common room below.'Why in such a hurry?I thought you slept in on weekends.Wait!Don't tell me you came out with your dressing robe on to say 'good morning'to me!'


'Good Moring James,'they heard Lily's and I am not that stupid to wake up to wish you or anybody for that just to greet them.I just came here.... to.. er..um...oh ya to see if the elves cleaned the common room.Yeah the house elves have done a good job.Well James See you later'

And then Lily appered in her doorway and her roommates immediately pretended to sleep.

'Boys!!!!You never know what they are doing when,'she muttered to herself and went to take a shower.All the girls in the dorm burst out laughing as the bathroom door snapped.

'I knew it she is falling for him,'said Kate

'Yeah all this friendship and things are just cover ups,'replied Alice.

But Irene and Amy shook their heads.

'No I don't think its love,'said Amy.

'Why not?Wasn't this very incident a good proof???Which friend wakes up just to wish her FRIEND !'asked Kate trying to prove her point.

'Lily,'said Amy and Irene.

'Thats just typical Lily.James has been waiting to say hi before going to breakfast.So Lily didn't want him to miss his breakfast because he didn't say hi to her.Thats it ,'said Irene.

'Wierd,'said Alice.

'Yes but it is Lily we are talking about,'said Katy.

'So we can just conclude this discussion saying that Lily Evans has not fallen for James Potter YET.I think it might happen soon.'said Amy and fell back into her bed and went to sleep.

'Jamesie!!!!!You lucky man,'said Sirius.

'Yeah I am LUCKY,'said James with a dreamy expression on his face.

'About what?'enquired Remus puzzled.

'MOONY!!!!Didn't you see what just happened!Lily woke up just to say Good Morning to James,'said Sirius.

'So?'

'So Lily has fallen for our Prongs' charm!!!'

'We are talking about Lily here Sirius.Not anyother girl.This is just the kind of thing which Lily does.She didn't want James to miss her breakfast,'said Remus.

'Yeah Remus is right.It is Lily.It is just the kinda thing she does,'said James who had just snapped out of this dream about how Lily would fly into his arms later that day.

'Liltle ray of sunshine aren't you?'Sirius snapped at Remus.Who just shrugged.'Don't worry James,she'll fall for you alright.'

'Yeah yeah!'said James sadly.

Sirius glared pointedly at Remus and muttered to him,'Thanks to you Remus.Now we have to listen to his Lily waffeling all day.'

'Not if I can help it,'Remus muttered to Sirius and then addressed James,'Hey James so do you think Lily will attend the Quidditch tryouts today?'

James face brightened.

'How could I forget about Quidditch?Maybe Lily wil come
after all Amy is in the team,'said James returing back to his original balanced self again.

Remus and Sirius heaved a great sigh of relief and went into the Great Hall.

When Amy,Irene and Lily rushed down to breakfast that day thinking that they missed it,they were relived that breakfast was still on.
They looked for a seat and sat next to the Marauders.

'Good Morning Everyone.Seeing you all just now after a long time after I woke up,'said Sirius brightly and shut up at the glare he received from both Lily and James.

'Good Morning!'said Irene helping herself with porridge.

'Good Quidditch conditions Captain,'said Amy to James.'Can't wait to get out.'

'Yeah.We need a new keeper.Hope we find someone who fits with the team,'said James.

'Hope we get someone who was as good as our ol' Gary,'said Sirius who played Beater.

'Hope you get someone who looks cute,'said Irene.

'And whats that supposed to mean?'asked Sirius icily.

'Oh!I just meant that we need a new face.No Offence,'said Irene realising what she had said.

'Doesn't a new Chaser on the team mean there is a new face,'said Amy looking up from her toast and found Irene and Sirius in their embrace again and started talking with Remus about Palet Hitrok (a monster like plant which both of them admired.

Lily and James were left alone and after an awkward silence Lily spoke up.

'James where is Peter?He is usually behind you guys.But these days he is not around .Why?'

'I dunno.He is not that intimate these days.He's not like before,'said James.

'Oh,I thought he had no one else apart from you guys.But looks like some one takes him too.'

'Yeah.Sirius never liked him as he thought he never had the qualities for being a Maurader but he always made a good friend.Dumb but good,'said James.

'Isn't Sirius himself dumb?'whispered Lily into James' ears.

'Nope.He is brilliant.That brain of his should be studied.He is.... just like me,'James said proudly as Lily snorted.

'Hey!!I am brilliant.Ok Ok stop laughing.Are you planning to come to watch the Quidditch tryouts?'asked James.

'Yeah.'

'Good.Lily why didn't you tryout?'

'Because I don't know to fly.'

'WHAT?'

'What?'

'You don't know to fly?But you had flying lessons!'

'No I didn't.I was in the Hospital Wing at that time as I was hexed.'

'You were hexed?By whom?'

'Does it really matter now James.It ahppened 6 years back.'

'Funnily enough it does.Who hexed you?'

'Snape.Who else?'

'Why didn't you tell me?'

'James you are so amusing.It happened so many years ago.I just remembered it now myself.'

'When I see that slimeball the next time he is....'

'James it happened long ago.And you are not doing anything to him because of me.Alright?'

'But...'

'Alright??'

'Yeah ok.'

'Well talk about something more pleasant.'

'Yeah.I just wanted to pass on a message.'

'A message?From whom?'

'James Potter.'

'Ha ha.Lets hear it then.'

'You are expected to stay back after the Quidditch tryouts as you are going to be given personel Quidditch lessons.'

'WHAT?By whom?'

At this James came close to Lily and whispered to Lily,'Really,Lily.Will I let anyone let you near you other than me????Bye and Meet you,'and Lily blushed furiously.And then he addressed the Maurders and they all left the table before Lily could say a half - hearted 'NO' to James.

Well well the next chapter is up and You have probabaly just finished it.Well if u've not.Pleaseeeeeee read it.

Then reason I was late.NO 1.My Fanfic has been rejected by mugglenet.com!😭Well now thats a demotivation.The reason they gave was that i had spelling errors.Well I have to say i was never that good at spellings.So I was thinking maybe it was bad but when i visited this forum.WOW!Thanks a lot u guys!!!!U MOTIVATED ME!👏.Then No 2 I am sooo soo very busy!!!!!I am 10th now and they r making us working like donkeys at school and tution.NO 3 I needed insipration.Any way I'll warn you right ahead.I'll post just around 1 chapter a week or 1 chaper in two weeks.But I'll c to that they r worth the waiting.And please Review this chapter too I loved the response!

Next is I am vaishu's frnd.We both study at the same school (but different sections)and tution.She's in 10th too i am sure you know.And vish in case u r reading this.I AM SOOOO SORRY!i didnt finish reading ur fanfic yet.But i am going to finish it now.alrite?

Well then I really didn't mean to make Sirius/Irene like Ron/Lav but I didn't even realise doing it.But since I did it I thought I'll go abt with it.

And I have a GREAT cliff comming up maybe not this soon but after Lily is reallly confused whether she likes James just as a friend or in the other way.Oops!Let out a secret.Well no prob.I meant to let it out.Well wait for the cliff it might come between the 5 - 10th chapters!!!!

Well the next chapter will probably have some mild romance in the Quidditch pitch.But remember this is my first fic so I might just blow this whole thing up.And it will probably be called 'In The Qudditch pitch' but i dunno.Well thats it for now!pls review.

You know Aparna generally I don't read fan fictions but then today I am in agood mood so I was reading your fan fiction. It was brilliant . You know I was wondering if this is by a real author or not 😆 😆 .Spelling doesn't matter in the fan fiction but the matter matters 😳 . I lubed the part whr Lily woke up to call James and when James was angry on Snape because he hexed her 😊 .

Btw Irene and Sirius jodi sounds a bit Hermione-Ron story to me 😳 . Actually when Irene said we need a cute keeper and Sirius was angry at her statement reminded me of Hermione-Ron fight 😛
