Chapter 4 - The clock struck 12 times

James and Lily were now closer than ever.Of course they were still friends.But....who cares?

They were supposed to do Patrol Duties around the school every Monday and Friday.On one such Friday, Lily could be seen walking briskly through the Astronomy Corridor,looking for trouble-makers , accompanied by none another than a rarely sulking, James.But that day James Potter was sulking alright!!!The reason being :-

'IT'S FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!'James' loud voice rang through the corridor.

'James!!Shhhh...'Lily said in quite voice,'You'll wake up everyone and McGonnagal won't be happy!'

'But that wouldn't change my whole point!Its still Friday Night!!'he said more quitely.

'So?'asked Lily.

'So?So??Who'll want to do DOG DUTIES on Friday night???Ohh ya other than you of course!'he said rolling his eyes.

'What about me?'

'Well you don't have fun do you?'

'Of course I do!!!'

'Ya right ok!'

'Really!!!'

'Well Lily you know having 'fun' is not about doing your homework or reading books.'

'Hey it does!I mean each one's fun depends on the person right?'

'Ya but what you call is not fun!!!'

'Hey I love doing it!'

'Ya but fun makes your mind relax and not tired,'

'You see my mind relaxes if i read'

'No.Your mind will just get exhausted if it continues collecting information.'

'Wow!James I didn't know you had an aptitude for Biology!!'

'Bialaghe?'

'Oh nothing Forget it!Anyway whats fun then?'

'You are supposed relax and calm you mind,body and soul.'

'Oh ya I can do that.'

'Really?'

'Ya.'

'Well Prove it.'

'What?'

'I said Prove it.'

'Fine.We'll see.'

'Ya we'll see.'

And both of them continued the rest of their patrol smirking away to glory until the clocked chimed 12 times to tell that they had to return to their common rooms

Just when James and Lily left to patrol,Sirius and Irene slipped off silently out of the potrait hole and made it to the Black Lake.

'Sirius I don't think this a good idea,'said Irene in a worried voice as they started to walk around the lake.

'Why not?'replied Sirius.

'Just think, what if Lily and James catch us out here?'

'What if?'

'They'll give us detention.'

'So?'

'So????We'll get detention....'

'We'll get detention together!Just think about it.If we are caught here for spending valuable time with each other,we'll be given detention and so we can spend more valuable time together!!'Sirius said smirking.

'Well I can't be as cool as that I am sorry!'

'You need not,baby .I am cool enough for both of us.'

'Ho!Ho!Ho!'said Irene scowling.

'Alright ! Alright ! Lets stop this.If we get caught I'll see to that I am held responsible,'said Sirius.

'Thats choo sweet!'said Irene pinching Sirius' cheeks.

Sirius took her hands of his cheeks,wincing.

'Did that pain sweetie?'Irene asked.

'Couse!!!"

'Anything to help the pain sooth?'Irene asked in a flirtious voice.

Sirius smirked and and Irene kissed his cheek gently and slowly moved to his other cheek when halfway through Sirius' and Irene's lips met each other.

And there they sat kissing and caressing each other oblivious to everything around them ,except to the Clock which chimed 12 times to break the kiss shared so passionatly by the the two innocent couple.

They were so innocent that,Little did Sirius know that almost 15 years later he would lie on the same spot fighting to live life for this godson.And little did Irene know about the fate she had in front of her.

But they lived life for the present.So they would never mind.

'Hey Remus,'said Amy sitting next to Remus in the Common room.

'Hi Amy!Not sleepy?'asked Remus.

'No.I need Irene and Lily to get sleepy.They keep talking about something stupid which drives me to sleep,'said Amy smiling and Remus laughrd.

'Well then how is life?'

'Exhausting!!!What with Quidditch practice and horrible lessons!Its been ages since I've some quality time for myself to relax!'

'Tell me about it!Its all so completely exhausting!I never see my friends under this much strain though.I mean all of us have the same amount of us.But I never see the other maurders having such a difficult time.I mean I don't see Peter at all.But James and Sirius seem cool about all this.'

'Ya I know.Same with Irene and Lily.I am completely baffled that Lily is not breaking under this strain.I suppose James is helping her put up with all this.'

'Ya and Sirius has Irene to help him.I suppose thats the reason, they have...'Remus broke off flusing slightly.

'Ya they have people to help them to take their mind of school,'completed Amy boldly but blushed slightly.

They sat there quitely for about 10 minutes when Amy let loose what she had been wanting to ask Remus for ages.

'Remus where do you go every month?'

Remus paled.And looked at Amy with a scared look in his face.

'So that is it?You are a warewolf?'asked Amy.

Remus nodded shamefully.

'Well I thought so.A person,that is to say your mother,can't fall sick every month.I figured that this may be it last year.It explains it all.Why you don't draw attention to yourself.Why you never answer.Why you keep youself to yourself.Why you don't date,'said Amy meeting Remus' suprised eyes.

'You mean..you are not scared?'asked Remus.

'Scared?Why should I be scared?'asked Amy confused.

'Amy do you know how much what you said means to me?'asked Remus shakily.

'Remus,do you know much you mean to me?'asked Amy quitely still looking in to Remus' eyes.

They sat there looking at each other for what seemed like 10 decades until Remus moved closer and closed the gap between then both physicaly and mentally,and he did what he had never done before,he kissed, just as the clock chimed 12 times.

They broke after what seemed by milliseconds at the sound of bickering and the potrait hole opened and framed between the walls of the hole were James , Lily , Sirius and Irene.All the six kept looking at each other with suprised looks untill the 4 in the doorway broke into hysterical laughter and and the new couple blushed furiously in each others arms.
