Chapter 5

It was 8 in the morning. Payal came downstairs and found some servants cleaning the dining table. "Where are others?" she asked. Everyone else has already had their breakfast, what would you like madam?" asked the servant. The girl asked for some bread and butter. While having her breakfast, she started thinking about where to start the search from.

Her thoughts were interrupted by Nikhil as he came from his room and sat beside her to talk. Nikhil asked her about her life and what she was studying. He wanted to know about Lajo but before he could ask anything, the girl said: "How do u know my aunt?"

Nikhil became a little dazed. He didn't know if he should answer or not but then decided to be quiet. "ummm aa Your...your aunt was my friend. Just a friend, I didn't know her very well."

"But the reaction you gave when u first read that letter was not supposed to be from a friend who does not know her "WELL"...Although I am unaware of what was written in it and just followed the address written behind the letter but still the reaction u gave was a little unexpected. But that's ok I wont force you to tell me if you don't want to." The girl left the table saying this.

It was 2 in the afternoon. No one was at home. Nikhil had gone to his office, while his son was in his university. The girl thought that it was the right time to look for something important in Nikhil's room. She went to his room taking care that no servant sees her. She started looking here and there to start her search. She explored his drawers, his cupboard and everything else in his room but didn't find anything useful.

She was about to leave when she realized that she left the book shelf unsearched. She searched some books and found a photo of Lajo behind which was lajo's old address written. She became happy at her baby step towards success.

As expected, her next destination was obviously going to be Lajo's old house. She now started looking for a good chance to visit it without letting anyone else know about it.

It took me forever to update this chapter but i am extremely sorry for that. I hope u guys liked it :) I'll update the next chp pretty soon coz this one took forever 😆

I read both 3 and 4 today you r a natural story teller and it is very beautiful storyline. I am so happy that u decided to write this wonderful piece here...sorry for late reply but looking forward to further thickening of plot...

Chapter 6

Payal opened her eyes to find Jay, Nikhil's son before him. He stood there with a cup of coffee in his hand.

"It's 6 in the evening, thought I should wake you up, I hope I didn't annoy you, did I?" said Jay. Payal replied saying no and that she had mistakenly fallen asleep while reading a book. He handed over the cup to her and began talking.

Jay: If you don't mind asking me, why are you here?

Payal didn't find his question very pleasing and replied in an annoyed tone: Do not worry mister; I am going to leave your house as soon as I find a new place to live in.

Jay: Oh you girls can never stop overreacting on every other matter. I just simply asked, didn't mean to hurt you. Umm...aaa I overheard you talking to my dad, who is lajo?

Payal: I used to live with her. She wasn't my mother, but took take care of me just like one. Neither do I know how your father knows her.

Jay: He never spoke about her. I heard this name for the very first time since my birth.

Payal: very strange that is!! Where is your mother by the way? Does she not live with you?

Jay: No, she died when I was only 8. My dad took care of me since then.

Payal: It's a personal question to ask but, why did he not re-marry?

Jay: Everyone asked him to, but he refused. He never shared his feelings with anyone.

Their conversation is interrupted by a servant who has been sent by Nikhil to call them downstairs.

Nikhil tells his son that Payal is going to stay with them from now on and that he should accompany her. But payal is reluctant and disagrees saying that she can't live there forever and that she will leave as soon as she finds a new house to live in.

The next morning, Payal wakes up before anybody else. She has breakfast and leaves for Lajo's house asking the servants to tell that she has gone to meet a friend if anybody asks.

hmm could be laajo the boy's mom..me very curious, good suspense...like it a lot keep it up
