MY god! I can't beleive this! I just now saw your posts and so delighted. Yes, I had Othello in my degree class as English Drama. In our college, boys enacted this great drama on stage on Annual day and you know a handsome boy acted as Dedemona as girls were shy to act on stage. Othello was played by our class mate who was very fair but colored himself black for this role. As we had wonderful lecturer who used to teach this we used to be mesmarised. I always cherish those days and have a soft corner for Desdemona.

Anyway I know that the film " Omkara ' was based on Othello. But here how come there is no similarity between that and GKD? Why this bauji fitted? That means Iago also will come or what? I liked Omkara very much and first time liked Kareena kapoor. How come you know about Othello?

Well, we know about Othello because we have read it😃😆...no big mystery here

As far as Iago is concerned, he is present in GKD in the form of BJ...........you won't have to go too far to find the parallels: her tragic and violent widowhood (real or imaginary, remains to be seen) /his perceived sense of victimisation, her feeding tripe to Avi about revenge, Arpi etc/ his insinuations about Desdemona and Cassio, her two-faced monologues/his sinister real face vs the public persona of honesty.

Haven't watched Omkara, so cannot comment on it, but GKD is definitely Othello in the making. The jealousy track, though in the background now, will really take the centerstage once BJ's other schemes to separate Avita fail.

We can just hope and pray it has a different ending than Othello!

So, do you think there will be a Cassio?...and if so who is it?...I think it might be one of the gang....but having said that, I'm sure they won't follow Othello rigidly......so Arpi might doubt Avi or vice versa (currently it's looking like Avi might doubt her)....but it won't last long...and certainly not have the othello ending.😊

I think Cassio might be Kanoo, of all the people😲......remember when he touched Arpi's feet right after the wedding and BJ gave that glare.....that scene seemed odd at the time but I suspect may gain significance at a later time.

Btw, how are your kidlets ?....I was rotfl when I read that😆😆
