Was listening to Ek Mulaqaat from Sirf Tum in the train this morning and well just penned down a whole scenerio with AviTa..
Read at your own risk..
Saans aati Hai saans jaati hai, Sirf mujh ko hai intezar tera
Aansuon ki ghataen pee pee ke, ab kehta hai yehi pyaar mera
Arpita sat looking blankly at her mendhi printed upon her hands, she saw as the tears fell one by one in drops.
Her wedding had been decided and she couldn't do anything. Her groom had been chosen by her father and now there was no going back.
Avdhesh would be coming but days had passed since his disappearance and despite holding back for days she couldn't anymore. It was decided that her wedding would take place the following day.
Ek mulaqaat zaroori hai sanam, Ek mulaqaat zaroori hai sanam
Zinda rehne ke liye teri kasam, Zinda rehne ke liye teri kasam
Ek mulaqaat zaroori hai sanam, Ek mulaqaat zaroori hai sanam
'Arpita' called her mother..
Arpita didn't make any attempt to reply.. She just continued to sit in silence absorbing the atmosphere around her. Her tears streamed down her face upon her hands.
Her mother looked at her and felt a wave of guilt overcome her, she knew she should have done something to stop her daughter from marrying a vile and cruel man, whom she knew would only use and discard her. She had never wanted her own fate for her daughter but was to weak to do anything. If she stepped out of line, her husband would kill her and this marriage meant alot to him as it was merely a business deal.
If only she had the courage to tell her husband how selfish and disgusting he was. She walked closer to Arpita and looked as her tears washed away the mendhi that had been applied to her hands.
She wiped her tears and wrapped her arms around her trying to comfort her daughter the best she could.
In her mind she begged forgiveness from Arpita, she knew her daughter had high hopes but everything was ruined. The one chance Arpita's father had been waiting for had arrived. He would sell his daughter for land and money and become rich whilst making his daughter the poorest woman alive.
Arpita's phone rang and it read 'Kanoo'
Arpita looked up and answered quickly.. She tried to speak up but her voice was stuck.. What news did he have for she thought? Will Avdhesh be coming?
She needed to meet him once.. just once.
Listening silently to everything, she hung up and placed her phone on the floor beside her again and turned towards her mother.
'Aai' she mustered herself to speak.
Her mother looked into her daughters' red eyes, and knew it was Avdesh she was waiting for, before Arpita could say anything her mother placed her hand on her cheeks and smiled.
'Jao.. Mile us se.. Main koi bahaana bana du gi, tum jao'
Teri ishq ne yun deewana kiya, Teri ishq ne yun deewana kiya,
Zamaane se mujh ko begana kiya,
Arpita cried hugging her mother close, she moved slightly back and told her mother that Avdesh would be coming back the following day and she wants to meet him.
She explained how Avdesh had been arrested and kept on the low key by some influential people for many days and that the court had finally allowed his bail.
She promised she would go through with the marriage just she wanted to meet Avdesh.. just once.
Her mother, didn't know what to say? Her bharat was coming the following day.. How would she be able to get out of the house? It would be impossible..
'Mandir main, Shiv Mandir main'
Her mother nodded silently and walked away.
***The following day***
Arpita was awoke by her mother, who handed her the wedding attire.
'Pehn lo beti, tumhe Mandir ke liye bhi nikhal nah hai haina?. Aapna shingaar kar lo' her mother cried helplessly.
Hours later, Arpita walked out in a beautiful lengha.. she looked like a princess but her face was lifeless. She had no excitment whatsoever. She kept looking at the clock hung on the wall.
Finally the time had arrived when she would be leaving for the mandir, part of her didn't want to go. How could she face Avdesh? It would break her heart to leave him, but she knew that he deserved an explanation.
Deewane tere pyaar main bada hi bura haal hai
She mustered her courage and placed her hand on her mother cheek before getting into the rickshaw.. She drove upto the mandir looking for his car to arrive.
The mandir was empty and overhead was the coming of a storm. The lightening began to strike usually Arpita would have been frightened but today nothing scared her more than facing Avdesh's questions.
Mera pyaar khoya hai jaane kahan, Mera pyaar khoya hai jaane kahan,
Use dhoondti main yahaan se wahaan, Use dhoondti main wahaan se yahaan
Milan ki mujhe aas hai, nikalti nahin jaan hai
Main kitni majboor hoon yeh kaisa imtihan hai
The rain began to fall viciously and the dark clouds overwhelming the sky. Again Arpita's phone rang. It was Kanoo again..
'Hello Bhabhi..'
'Hain'
'Bhaiyaji poonhne wale hai, jaana maat'
Arpita disconnected the call, looking around helplessly. The rain poured down even more.. It was as though the God's were crying with Arpita too.
Ek mulaqaat zaroori hai sanam, Ek mulaqaat zaroori hai sanam
Zinda rehne ke liye teri kasam, Zinda rehne ke liye teri kasam,
Ek mulaqaat zaroori hai sanam, Ek mulaqaat zaroori hai sanam
Arpita cried looking for Avdesh but in the rain she couldn't find him anywhere, the streets had began to flood and cars, rickshaws, bicycles went past in hundreds.
Arpita ran and fell before Shiva's murti..
Ek mulaqaat zaroori hai sanam, Ek mulaqaat zaroori hai sanam
Zinda rehne ke liye teri kasam, Zinda rehne ke liye teri kasam,
Ek mulaqaat zaroori hai sanam, Ek mulaqaat zaroori hai sanam
'Jab taak aap mere Avdesh ko nahin behjte main ganthi bajathi rahoon gi'
She got up and held on to gong and rang the bell hard as possible, more tears rolled down her face as she remembered Avdesh in the mandir during their third meeting..
'ARPITA' she heard calling her..
She didn't stop, she was sure it was him but she didn't want to be wrong..
'ARPITA' he called again..
Her hands were bleeding but she continued ringing the bell,
'ARPITA' finally reaching near the stairs she heard his voice clearly..
She took a deep breath and turned around.. Soaked tip to toe was Avdesh.. The same as she had last saw him. The maroon kurta, the bullet pendent, everything was the same.
She ran towards him and stopped an inch away.. He looked at her hand that was totally covered in blood now. He shook his head and wiped her tears.
She wrapped her arms around him, holding him tight not wanting to let go.. Not now.. not ever.. He tightened his grip of her, she was cold and wet and so was he. He enveloped her taking her in.. It had been days since they had met and he felt a wave of pride overcome him knowing that he was with her. Arpita felt safe for the first time in days, she wanted to stay were she was but she knew she had to go..
She let go and cupped his face in her hands. She kissed his cheeks and forehead and placed something in his hand before leaving him standing alone in the rain.
'Mujhe maaf kar dena'
Avdesh looked into his hand to see a folded peice of paper.. It was letter.. that Avdesh would read when he could understand what had just happened. He didn't understand what had just happened but knew that his heart had been broken by the one girl he had only ever, truly love.
