Even the expressions of Gulaal didn't connect today. I would say ESPECIALLY Gulaal's expressions didn't connect...and her being the central character, not some sidey like PB...the expressions being disconnected jars more.

I don't think Kesar leaving or asking the shoe ceremony for Raman is out of character. He was never connected to his family, he was away and no one in that family ever tried to neither connect nor understand him even after his return. He was never interested in the village people or the position of Sarpanch. He was always treated as the youngest and he accepted it with grace that is why he mentioned Raman. I didn't feel that he thought about leaving beforehand but that was spontaneous maybe when he feared that his family might pressure Gulaal for his sake. He was on his way somewhere when MB stopped him to talk about their desire. Like Jezz said bravo to him for not being the charity case. Yes, it does almost feel as if Kesar's decision to leave was taken on the spot when he saw how desperate the family was to bring Gulaal back through any means even if they had to resort to emotional blackmail...they hit a new low today...Kesar was the only one talking sense there..

MB-wanting to beg Gulaal???????????? Yeah that was seriously W*F-ish😕😕

Ohhh I see...well it's good you watched that part then cuz that's the only part worth watching in the entire epi to be honest😆...I liked the Kesar-MB scene.

Agreed - Kesar MB scene were the only sound part. That, and the bit of Kesar on his tuntuna and MB looking from far - this one was REALLY well done.

BTW - I notice a kind of trend in the FBs Gulaal has had of late... although they are annoyingly missing out on so much else that could be shown - they are also sort of taking Gulaal's flight of fantasy only to the period of having lived like a wife with Kesar - with strings attached of course - but that... she's always thinking of memories where either Kesar has been 'the hubby' or her 'the wife'... so maybe that's consciously done?!

And on that note - Kesar's FB yesterday, while playing the tuntuna was of the scene where she asks him to teach her... insinuating a memory of a rare instance where Gulaal is actually going out of the way to please showing extraordinary willingness to accept him, even in a leading role...

Its almost like their FB's are not supposed to indicate the good and/or bad memories, but a trend of their wishful thoughts... of those respective elements in their bond that have remained mostly unfulfilled...

Does that make sense?! I'm coming to terms with the damage done - and trying to focus on what I can salvage of my mood for the last two episodes...

MB saw Kesar with his tuntuna?? I think I might have missed that cuz I forwarded through some portions of the scene once the FBs started cuz it felt a bit blah...so MB saw Kesar with the tuntuna and still all he could say to him later on was "aaj bhi jagah hai Gulaal ke liye tere mann mein" or something like that? *headdesk*

Anyways, you have a point about the rest of the FBs, Jzee...yes, Gulaal has only focussed on Kesar's recent "hubby-ness" with her so to speak...although ironically he's been her husband since practically forever and there ARE other moments that could be shown in her FBs/dreams...but they choose not to...ah well.

Right now, even I'm in the mood to just move on from the damage done...can't do anything about it...and let's see whatever's left.

Nur - you just HAVE to see that MB looking over at Kesar with his tuntuna moment - its brief and quick - but both actors at their best... it was THE touching moment of the day, for me!

And yeh - Kesar's been hubby to her forever... but what I meant was in a time period where Gulaal was sort of opening up to his being in that place... Undeniably gives a miss to some brilliant old scenes for a FB... I mean remember that confrontation when Kesar told her she will stifling the woman inside... or perhaps that scene where Kesar tells her she would have to love him back to stay in the house forever... or even the time Gulaal is trying to protest with Kesar and say she should move away from him so she doesn't harm him and he says every happiness in his life is because of her... or most importantly perhaps - she could have FBs from when Kesar breaks the wedding with Talli... those were some incredible 'husband in realization' dialogs from Kesar, and his consequent confession in the rain ofc... phew - yes, there is LOTS to show in FBs... but I think they're limiting it to the time Gulaal finally, with whatever resignation, sort of let Kesar step into her inner most circle, and the life they spent as a 'couple' (minus paap and chiii lol) then... because that is the phase recalling which Gulaal's realization should touch its peak, of how easy it really was letting him in, once she let go of her resistance, and how right it had seemed, despite whatever notions she had previously held... and how for that brief phase - even without her 'reciprocating love' in a sense, and at her darkest phase in general, she had managed to feel so light hearted, and found semblance of deep peace!

Arshi said somewhere - and I agree a 100% with her, that it would really really help if we saw things through Gulaal now for a while, and not look at Gulaal and/or Kesar through others... like when she comes back to the haveli - we see Gulaal through the family - if only we'd seen the house, celebration, family, AND kesar through Gulaal, it would have made one hell of a difference to the same damn scenes! It would help connect those FBs she was having, with her running state of mind... much much better...

So I've finally came around to watch yesterday's epi. I agree with many of you above. Nothing to add. While this epi was a tad better than wednesday's one, it was not enough to repair the damages done (if it could be repaired at all, perso I doubt it) There's truly something amiss from Gulaal's side, something which greatly affect how I see the show now. The toffee and the dream sequence did nothing to me at all - they were so random!! Didn't get the feelings in it - maybe because they were just so (random) or maybe because of Gulaal's disjointed feelings 😕 There were scenes I liked however. The MB looking at Kesar one because it was well portrayed - you could get the pain a dad could feel seeing his son this way. And I like the bit in which Kesar reiterated that he doesn't want to be pitied and that's no one needs to force her for his sake.
I was one who was disappointed by Kesar's decision when seeing the precap enough thought I understood his reasons behind it. Like JZephyr said it felt like he was escaping. But seeing the scene now made me see it in a new light.. I agree with surithy. Now I too think it was a spontaneous move triggered by both his state of mind and the family's incredulous plan to force Gulaal back into his/their life. Which make more sense and is still so Kesar.
Ps: I didn't like that again vasant was brought back into the picture. Once again it was like MB and PB wanted Kesar to filled Vasant's void. The scene went like they ask him to LITERALLY step into Vasant's shoes!! Couldn't MB just tell Kesar that he'd like him to take over the responsibilities, replace him without bringing Vasant's name in it?! But I guess for them to think he is worth taking their dear son place is a great proof of faith

Oh here you are !! I dont care about the episode anymore - its gone and irreversible ...but I do care about your post and analysis as they are ever so full of life and reflections, observations ...I was sorely missing your post and going into pits ...but now that I have found you here , its just great !...well, dont expect any brilliant responses from me , but I am going to read all that you write ..
Cheers !
