JK actually becoming instrumental in bringing GK back home - Oh I really really don't think so! ... Irrespective, JK's reactions here on, and her decisions will be very interesting to watch. Like I said elsewhere, her sons have become the cross of her life, and she has only herself to blame!

@Reemz and Ganga - oh shush you two! My mommy *cough* watches that show too *cough* Well, at least 3 times a week... *looks away embarrassed*... I did try to sit and watch one episode with her, and by the end of it, I was amazed to find any hair still sticking to my scalp. When I asked her why... she told me she likes the 'MIL' character only, but very much *looks to the heavens for mercy* I didn't think it was good idea taking my interrogation further about her 'likes' ... 😆 Then again, I reasoned my mommy was much better than many others I know who watch every Kekta show, and its likes on TV ... most of which my mum is disdainful about as much as I am - so I've forgiven her the lapse of this one show, every mommy has to watch something crappy! It's a mommy thing! 😆 There is something called 'generation gap after all... 😆

Oh btw - news update from the show that must not be names forum - someone 'dared' to put up a post saying the actor's acting was somewhat bland at times. So this topic maker did not criticise at all, in fact said that the actor had really risen to the role in time, but at times was still mildly disappointing... the first reply to her thread was from someone who told the topic maker that she was her son's age, and too young, so wouldn't argue, but only smile at her... 🤢 Then, this same 'mother of the son' aged older member went on to make a 'counter' post saying she was 'thankful' the lead actor was so expressionless, because its demand of his role... Okay, I know I must be demented, and oh so jobless, to not only stalk such a forum, but read its mindless posts and then actually 'report' them here - but since I was mad enough to go there and 'read' the posts - I just had to vent... Someone needs to ban me from that forum for my own sanity, because clearly, Sunday nothingness makes me slightly masochistic 🤢

Oh my maa watches it religiously everyday even though she disses it most of the time. 🤣 Don't the channel ever think that the people watching these shows may be giving them trps but they're also laughing AT these characters where as the viewers of Gulaal actually APPRECIATE the beauty of the show.

I saw that topic :) One cannot diss those actors as they are the only angels to have walked the earth! I wish those blindly defending the actor would actually witness some real powerful acting... maybe that would act as a wake-up call.

Jzee suppose you are right. I suppose I should not pitch such high expectations up on JK...and like Reemz mentioned, JK migh appreciate what Gul has done for Dushyant but she will definitely not be happy about Kes spilling the beans...😕

I read this recent interview somewhere - an Ajay Devgn interview over his recently released action flick Singham... (randomly found it I dunno doing what, and this one quote which was highlighted caught my eye and made me read the article) The quote was about how in recent years somewhere the concept of cinema had begun to change and people in moviemaking begun to come of age into believing that making mature/meaningful/intelligent and non repetitive cinema was the dawning trend. It was a challenging change, one that not everyone could deal well with, and so it wasn't adopted instantly - but started seeping in nonetheless. Then we got Wanted, Dabaang, and Ready - three in a go, mega blockbusters at BO, and suddenly, the incoming change came to a halt and the subtly growing conviction in favor of sensible cinema making a hit with current generation was dispelled as a myth and here we are - back at churning out 'entertainers'.

I realized reading that interview - what a sad but true plight it was! Those who bring in change are always rare and count few. Those to counter it far and many between. While there is always a segment of audience to appreciate 'quality' - market can snub any positive quality raising change from coming in, easy in a snap! Because think abut it - making a show like Gulaal, vs making yet another alpha male knight with armor and damsel in distress show and imagine the difference of 'creative input' that goes into making both... If one can hit a jackpot with the easier way out... what is the motivation to try harder?!

You really have to be one for who personally so passionate about quality, that all else comes later. And that, inevitably, is a rare rare occurrence!

It is sadly true. The only way to get meaningful cinema across to the masses is to make it in an entertaining manner and the only man who can do that is Rajkumar Hirani! He entertains and also makes the common man think.

@BOLD: Exactly! No matter how tried and tested certain formulas are, they will work and therefore the writer's won't bother trying anything new. At the end of the day sab ko rozi roti chahiye and if expressionless angry young man v geet copy cat works then WHY NOT heh?? Yet the fans will still claim that yeh love ishtory zara hatke hai!😉

CONGRATZ on becoming bogey coloured!😛
