Kesar vs. Vasant

The old episodes had so many signs that one day Kesar would become Gulaal's husband and fall in love with her - so many many signs and dialogues. It was such a pleasure to see Gulaal to naughty playing pranks, what a change she has gone through. She was a young innocent girl, with lack of confidence, Vasant made her confident and optimistic and over time she became so opinionated. Vasant once told her, it is okay to lie if it makes others happy, while Gulaal was all about right and wrong, no grey area. Over time Gulaal has found a balance between the two - she lies but does what she thinks is right.

A young Kesar was just so cute, who adored the ground Vasant walked on and loved Gulaal like crazy. He is like a laddu and I felt like pulling his cheeks. I can see how Gulaal cannot see him as her husband, he was just a kid when she got married and she was motherly towards him. Kesar is my favorite character, and his presence bring a spark to the show. When he was young, he was just so funny, and I kept wanting to watch him in all the scenes. I wish they had showed young Kesar more before killing off Vasant. He is still my favorite character and is the only one who brings some fun. Like today's dance. Hahahahahaha... I am in splits thinking about it.

Vasant and Gulaal literally set the screen on fire, their chemistry sizzled. Vasant is so strong, well-built, and tall, while Kesar looks like a kid, is shorter and not as well-built. Vasant is practical and taught Gulaal so many things, while Gulaal taught Kesar. Gulaal was so in love with Vasant that she wanted to elope, but Vasant was not as impulsive. Kesar, however, is impulsive while Gulaal is practical. It feels like a role reversal with Kesar and Gulaal.

Can Gulaal love Kesar? Kesar is Gulaal's second chance, only chance at true love for the rest of her life. If someone can make her happy, it is Kesar. Gulaal deserves to be happy. She is busy fulfilling Vasant's dreams but has forgotten the two most important people in his life who's happiness meant the most - Gulaal and Kesar's. Vasant told her clearly that he wants Gulaal to be happy in the house, and he wants Kesar to be happy and successful in life. Gulaal has put those aside and focused on other dreams. I do hope she remembers that.

I am confused about Gulaal's feelings. Of late it seems as if all she cares about is her promise to Talli, and Talli. Why? Doesn't she care about Kesar's feelings? She keeps thinking that Kesar will torture Talli, but what about Kesar? Which husband marries someone to torture that person, that also someone like Kesar? Does she not think even once that Kesar doesn't love Talli and his marrying her will also mean that his life is ruined? Gulaal, who loved deeply so much so that she has forgotten her life to keep her lover's dreams alive, herself cannot understand Kesar's love and his not wanting to marry someone he doesn't love. I am confused about Gulaal. She also lied to Vasant about Dushyant's intentions - granted she didn't want to cause a rift, but she needed to tell him rather than lie - but that still would not have prevented Vasant's death.

All in all, its such a beautiful story, and its amazing how we viewers can relive Vasant and Gulaal's sizzling chemistry through Gulaal and Kesar, since the latter two also have amazing chemistry.
