Whether it was for viewers or selling Virakhi...

The character V believed at that time that he is in love with Pakhi. That he sacrificed his one true love. And that's also why he wants Sai to be like her and learn from her (although by this i mean be more accomodating to the whims of family like Pakhi has and not be like her exactly). So that even though the marriage is a deal, V wants Sai to be accepted.

But story wise, his supposed love affair to Pakhi was not going to happen, he was bound to fall in love with Sai and realise later that this was mere infatuation and not true love.

The cafe revelation relates here because he mentions Pakhi as purani galti to Sammy.

However strong his feelings were for Pakhi, his emotions and attachment (connection) with Sai dominated them. period. And that is the beauty. His first surge of feelings for Pakhi might be so strong that he made a vaada to remain celebate, but the affection for Sai not only made him fall for her all over again, but erased the initial feelings he had for Pakhi, rendering them unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

Sai holds a place in his life, which no woman can take. There is a beautiful dialogue in KD in post confession talk, which Vankar removed 😡. Rono says to Emon, she is not only his love/wife, she is much more. I tried to understand his feelings for her and tried to express it in my OSs. But his feelings are product of several emotions.

There is this strong 'connection' from the beginning that he says he has with her when he visits her at safe house. Then there is 'admiration' for the person she is. Then there is 'protectiveness' because she is his Guru's daughter. Then there is 'pride' for owning such a woman who is head strong, intelligent and kind. Then there is 'attraction' which makes him possessive and territorial. So many things define Virat's love/attachment to Sai. Thats why I finally define his feelings for her as 'Pride' of having this unique woman for himself.

Kamal Joshi introduces Sai to him as his 'Pride' (Guroor). Thats why I zeroed down to "Pride" when it comes to Virat's feelings for Sai. Because Virat and KJ has same value in Sai's life (In KD post confession talk she explicitely says it)

And the synonyms for pride :)

pleasure, joy, delight, gratification, fulfillment, satisfaction

Why did they remove important dialogues like this? Vanku copy paste bhi dang se nahin kar sakta

I'll be talking technical here. Apologies in advance.

Purely from ideation perspective. Not execution.

Story and character development need conflict. Inner and outer.

What is more interesting but unseen? It is the inner conflict.

Sai Joshi and Sai Chavan has faced outer conflict. Her journey is easily understood by us in 3D world. Exam mein fail ho gaye, pass ho gaye, accident ho gya falana falana

Virat faces inner conflict. That might be pakhi samrat kamal sai ninad ashwini now bhavani. His journey is hidden and promises greater stakes. He is repeating his mistakes because he is unable to perceive the repercussions the way sai does. And from character development point it is deliberate. Sai has stated it time and again that Virat doesn't see the intention. Yes he doesn't. There's a reason. It is his inner conflict and journey.

He understands only from his alter-ego.

Technical aside, thoda life philosophy pravachan

Life is 99% inner work.

Most of it happens behind the scenes ( not the IG reels but real life) and that's what is happening with Virat. Bande ne jhoot bola, now there's a new entry who's equally khadoos as Bhavani.

Theres no meaning of all that inner conflict and alter ego if he doesn't evolve as a person. I personally do not see his bravery , strength of character come through when it is time to make the difficult decisions in life. V manages to consistently make ALL the bad choices. And later it comes to reflecting on them and learning a lesson- hes not doing that either.

He matters to me as a viewer only because he is important to Sai. If Sai had chosen to walk away, I personally wouldn't care to see what V did after that. She chose to stay with him, she loves him and because I am invested in her- so I care about him by extension. I have expectations from him because of what I as a viewer want FOR Sai. When I feel disappointed in him, its because I feel Sai deserves better. So to me, this story is ALL Sai. V is important only as long as he matters to Sai.

You can clearly see the shift after the episode when Paki returns from her maika. I have felt that Virat completely shook Paki off from his sub conscious mind after that incident.

My reasons to believe this - 2 scenes

1. After Paki leaves CN , that night Virat during his conversation with Sai makes that infamous pyaar-dosti slip-up , which is clearly caught and registered by Sai. Thats when she decided to go to Paki's house to say sorry and manao her to come back to CN

2. Next day after Sai returns and Paki calls (thats when Virat finds out Sai went to Paki's house), there is an immediate change in Virat's demeanour. He uses terms like "Sai aur Mein", "Hum chahte hain", which definitely irks Paki. That was a major shift I felt.

Also, after Paki returns, there is that scene in front of the mirror in Paki's room after she comes out of the shower in that red night dress. Paki keeps looking for Virat's expression in the mirror and is disappointed to see that he has absolutely no reaction! 🤣 This was the scene which marked that Virat has moved on. And the makers too threw out Virakhi for good.🤣

This is my interpretation.

They did try selling Virakhi but I don't think they were then that these two are together irl.

Regarding the rest of it except that red night suit scene coming out of shower post Pakhi's return. It didn't exist in KD rest all were copied from KD. Scene by scene dialogues by dialogues were lifted. Maybe modified a bit but over-all it was same.

Wow, wow!! I will read it again to absorb it. Virat's character is indeed interesting...and Sai's too.

The reason I got hooked was these two characters and the entire dynamics of their families too. And I am not able to get out of it. 😆

I will wait for you to continue.

Get well soon🤗

Very well written … enjoyed it thoroughly.. I cannot agree totally .. but I am quite there with you in many issues

Just read the first post

I agree virat is a lion .. because they are innately selfish , proud .. and think high of themselves ..

they stay in pride where there are many lionesses .. so virat is essentially that .. taking care of his wife , old Kaku , mom , pakhi , Shivani Bua and also shruti ..

They may be loyal to only one .. don’t know about that .. but every lady has their space in the pride ..

And lioness does most of the hunting . Sai is the queen in that .. even Kaku ..

Lion is certainly not as hardworking as a tiger or a leopard ..😀😀
