I have mentioned this on other threads -

Sai is a highly evolved character. Her circumstances made that possible.

Virat's character is yet to grow. For him to evolve he has to face challenges. That has begun when he openly proclaimed that Sai will be the bahu.

Ab sach jhoot mein fasa hai let's see what he does.

And it is human tendency to love and look up to an ideal. Sai is an ideal character. But was it really her journey? Partly yes but greatly no.

She did what she had to.

That might be Devkit, Amay, Rajiv Shivani, Mohit, Ninad Ashwini

Her actions were no less than shockers for CN wasis. Have they learnt their lesson?

NO.

It is not her journey. She's the guidepost.

The day they learn their lesson the show ends.

Here I'm talking about the hidden layers.

On surface it seems that Sai's life has changed dramatically. But the truth is she's the same eccentric girl from GC.

Had it not been Virat's and other CN wasis journey

"Virat Sai Chavan" wouldn't have shocked them out of their wits.

Otherwise these characters had great potential

Sai, Virat, Pakhi, Samrat, and Bhavani. I'm dying to write an FF on them.

If you ask me the only character they've done justice with is Rajeev 😂 Jo bhi ho banda kaafi consistent hai 🤣

To me the issue is not that V is flawed but that he doesn't learn from his mistakes or reflect. He is the poster boy for "oversell but under-deliver". Make tall promises but screw up. He also keeps contradici g himself. With pp matter, One day he claims he only had infatuation, then he claims he was genuinely in love, then he is back to brushing it away as just attraction or friendship....he has no certainty. He thinks he has lot of conviction and knows what he wants but he really doesn't.

Sai is flawed too but she consistently evolves and adapts. She has become less mufat, calmer, less impulsive with time. She has become more forgiving of people who hold opinions that she essentially considers wrong or unacceptable. All this at the cost of not compromising her own pov or her core personality.

@red - my theory regarding this is - in the initial episodes they tried this stunt just to test waters to keep real couple significant. I have a strong feeling they really tried to sell Virakhi and even would have made them the end game. But viewers rejected them hands down.

You can clearly see the shift after the episode when Paki returns from her maika. I have felt that Virat completely shook Paki off from his sub conscious mind after that incident.

My reasons to believe this - 2 scenes

1. After Paki leaves CN , that night Virat during his conversation with Sai makes that infamous pyaar-dosti slip-up , which is clearly caught and registered by Sai. Thats when she decided to go to Paki's house to say sorry and manao her to come back to CN

2. Next day after Sai returns and Paki calls (thats when Virat finds out Sai went to Paki's house), there is an immediate change in Virat's demeanour. He uses terms like "Sai aur Mein", "Hum chahte hain", which definitely irks Paki. That was a major shift I felt.

Also, after Paki returns, there is that scene in front of the mirror in Paki's room after she comes out of the shower in that red night dress. Paki keeps looking for Virat's expression in the mirror and is disappointed to see that he has absolutely no reaction! 🤣 This was the scene which marked that Virat has moved on. And the makers too threw out Virakhi for good.🤣

Post revelation of Mr and Mrs. Chavan hotel check in, sairat bedroom convo while sai packing her stuff.

Going from Sai Joshi to Sai Virat Chawan is a journey. She has gone from being a protected child to having her only family gone. Getting herself bound into a relationship with a man who told her hes committed to another, dealing with family who sees her as being lower in status and branding her as akkhad, disrespectful and brash. But shes much more. And in her journey she has managed to evolve her own personality but also grudgingly get the chavannis to do the right thing. They may not have changed entirely but they cant help but admire her. They wont admit it but they know she's right. In her journey she got herself attached to a man she was supposed to only consider a deal- partner but she fell in love with the man because she sees his inherent goodness which she values even though he screws up so much. And ultimately its about how she faces the situations with or without him. This is the story of Sai. Her pov evolves based on her life experiences but she has a core personality that is extremely charismatic and powerful. Virat is a big part of her journey as her husband, friend. But it is Sai who has impacted the lives of everyone around her. Virat and chavvanis contribute either by tagging along or creating roadblocks.

Wow you have written beautifully ❤️. Virat is writer’s delight! You can’t define him in one sentence or paragraph. He needs understanding! Unlike sai who is mostly one dimensional character and can be defined with few adjectives that are mostly positive. Virat needs analysis of situations around him . He has seen more world and situations and learnt to deal with them.

While sai believes in immediate justice and correction, virat believes in change and rehabilitation. The way he tolerates pakhi is an example! It is not his previous feelings or relationship with her that makes him like that, but his inherent belief that people will change, life will change! It is very subtly shown. He has acceptance for people and their frailties. Which is a good trait.

My purest assumption - they wanted to portray Virat as a layered character. But that never really came in execution.
