I voted conditional. It can't be anymore clear after how he has started behaving after the rejection. After Ajinkya fiasco, he said he would love Sai whether she loves him or not and promised Pulkit that he would never mistreat her or let anyone in the family mistreat her. Well, he clearly is very selective in keeping the promises he makes!
His priority is keeping the one which would boost his savior complex or like I always say "Maryada Purushottam" image. Sai had freed him from the "zimmedari" he took after her accident and she still does not want his money, but hey how will his ego get boosted if he does not say that?

I'm appalled to see here on this place who claim to be fan (I don't cos I'm open about my bias for Sai & hate for Virat respectively) just sees only from Virat's side lmao. Virat is anything but a victim? He's the root of everything, miseries in everyone's lives including himself. He infuriates me so much on top of it the blind defence & mollycoddling for that insufferable man-child boils my blood further on this place when I come across such anticipatory bail for him to self-victimize him further. That dude's an abuser of the highest order, extremely extremely extremely toxic & is patriarchal, MCP and sexist who will put restrictions, rules, limitations to maintain decorum, the code of conduct of a marriage & it's institutions, to be mindful of having male friends, refrain from letting her have normal college life friends circle, enjoy it, she has to be a typical "good girl & Bahu, patni" for him & his family to serve him. A docile, meek, doormat, slave like his mom, can't talk to & meet any guy, will be obsessed, keep track & trace of her friends mobile numbers, where do they live but would hold hands with his obsessive ex passionately at cafe in high fever, has all the understanding & patience, tolerance in the world for that woman who's an abuser of his own wife, knows her intentions, why & what Sai feels about her and their past together, what she's recently done, their past being brought out in public, how everyone sees them in bad light together goes onto tell her you never have been the reason for our misunderstanding, soooo much softness, playing bff dosti card with that person, yet goes onto meet her secretly at cafe, then protecting her image from others, whatever she demanded there then when Sai spots them together, Sai's not supposed to react? And tells her off by saying he won't explain, give her clarification & justify whatever Sai saw & makes out of it. That loser forgot what he did during Ajinkya fiasco also says idc whatever you think of this. Hate hate hate him sm. Will give clarification & explanation to his bff for the 100th time on same thing which he's already given countless times in past but not for his wife... Scumbag...
Our society no matter how much they claim to be progressive, broad-minded can't tolerate a strong woman standing upto men who are in stronger position in power & society...
The entrenched toxic masculinity, it's glorification & skewed power dynamics in a husband-wife relationship has always been there in ITV. It's been normalised, yet I see sympathy for such MLs of ITV. Disgraceful.
The only thing I can say is that in defence of those members who slam sai so much and defend virat, they seem to more easily remember sai's blunt and rude attitude towards virat and her open-as-a-book narration to all of the nature of her marriage with virat, as sai's this behaviour is an almost daily occurrence and often her speaking brashly to him is for no reason sometimes (that is the only critique I have ever had of her where some of the attitude she has given him in their bedroom could have been avoidable especially), but then they often don't seem to realise or remember on a whole the reason why sai acts like this with virat and others in the family and the justification for it.
Sai has always since the start been a blunt and open-minded girl who has always felt no fear in hiding what she feels and neither seems to like to hide her emotions. She's then thrust into a marriage with a man who told her he will only be her husband in name and be responsible for her but he loves somebody else so she cannot have expectations from him besides him taking responsibility for her needs.
So subconsciously the feeling of stepping into a relationship where she is a third wheel was put into her head, and so she too has constantly since then for both her own and virat's sake convinced them both she will only stick around till she becomes independent so as not to be a third wheel between him and the girl he loves forever.
But then anytime she realised pakhi was interfering in her life and insulting her was because of Pakhi's jealousy of virat-sai's marriage, sai would go on the defence and lash out, because pakhi's this behaviour and virat many times not reprimanding pakhi for her behaviour towards sai would frustrate sai and be a reminder that virat-pakhi have a relationship whereas she just feels like a third wheel.
She felt it was infuriating that pakhi was constantly trying to show her up in front of virat and virat defending pakhi, and pakhi interfering in sai-virat matters all under the pretext of friendship when virat's words to sai before marriage had convinced her that this friendship that virat-pakhi were claiming was all just for show to hide the real nature of their relationship. This dynamic that sai is stuck in made her slowly bitter towards what she saw as virat's dishonesty, feeling her self-respect was constantly attacked because of virat's equation with pakhi which she had been pulled into by virat, and then the frustration and confusion of growing attached to virat who she thinks she has no right over and belongs to pakhi and so to shield her feelings she constantly pushed virat away by denying to him that she feels jealous with pakhi-virat's equation or has any feelings for him.
Then you have virat who does and says some very awful things in his angry outbursts at sai that are far worse than sai's actions, but because his these actions are not a daily occurrence like sai behaviour, and because often some lose sense of why sai is behaving with virat the way she is, sai gets criticised a lot even when I am able to understand where this behaviour of hers towards virat is coming from most of the times.
The anniversary outburst of sai I understood too why she did that, even despite the fact I felt her reaction was very much over the top and unnecessarily rude. If you take into consideration the point I made about sai feeling like a third wheel despite her being the wife, her anger made sense towards virat lying to pakhi and family about the purpose of mahabaleshwar trip and hiding from pakhi and everyone that he is actually wanting to celebrate his and sai's marriage anniversary, because as of right now sai doesn't feel her status in virat's life as his wife has rightfully been given to her (this will remain until virat clarified to her that he did love pakhi before he married sai but has fallen in love with sai and he only sees pakhi as his brother's wife and friend) and she still is under the misconception that virat still loves pakhi and is still committed to pakhi, so sai misunderstood that he was fooling pakhi and cheating her by celebrating anniversary with sai behind pakhi and everyone's back and felt he was betraying the vaada given to pakhi that virat himself holds no importance for as he really does only see pakhi as a friend.
I posted same question some time ago. His love is definitely not unconditional. Right now I even question his conditional love. Is there any?
One cannot just act rude and mean in front of one you love... indifference doesn’t mean rude and selfish!
Ofcourse it's conditional. But generally speaking, keeping fictional characters aside, all love is conditional isn't it? The only unconditional love that I have seen is the love between a parent and child. I would never want a Sai to fall in love with a Virat because he doesn't really respect and trust her. So there's a conditionality attached there as well.
Virat does not love Sai… not according to me. It is a combination of entitlement and attraction - as if given the “sacrifice” he made in marrying her, she should love him never mind whether he deserves it or not.
please no chappals or war of words on this, this is my humble opinion. Given that Sai does not have anyone else, he gets away with it. But Sai also stays with him, she should have divorced him after he threw her out of the house. But round and round we go……
this will never change because of off screen dynamics. Patralekha would have gotten some comeuppance if they had even followed the original story and they are not even doing that.

💯 I agree even I think similar. I have done u favor by marrying u and taking responsibility . Now I love u u must love me back. Since I love u , u must listen to me, have no opinion of your own , adjust to my fam toxic behaviour and tolerate my obsessive bff ex if not I will throw u out or withdraw affection. Borderline gaslighting mostly. Sometimes more

Aila almost everything I ever taught about sairat u have articulated so well
My cousin said I am too harsh and see life from a very cynical pov.
But I find this like u skewed relationship..plus I feel sai has bit of stocklohm syndrome. I mean here he has not physically imprisoned all the time but time and again using power as husband or emo manipulation he tries to make her do what he wants and she believes at some point it's his care and love
This is just my perspective from real life experience pov
Love is unconditional when you don't want anything in return not even the love of that person whom you love. And the mere fact that he will love and live with sai only when she will love him in return. Sometimes I think makers have shown pakhi's love for virat is unconditional no matter what virat does and declared his love for sai but she still loves him 🤣
But pakhi is selfish and love is not selfish, and that selfless love is what we call unconditional
It's definitely conditional.... His motto is, "It's either my way, or the highway" as we have seen multiple times. Infact, he is even doing it now! Sai rejected him so he decides to not even be cordial with her! Way to handle rejection Virat from a 19 years old girl.
virat is a selfish person , he only loves himself , he never loved pakhi or sai or his brother.
If he really loved his brother he would not hide things from him and even now even though pakhi say she will never love samrat he wants to push her on his brother (maybe he loves all the attention pakhi gives him) , he wants his wife to love him but does he not feel his brother also deserve a loving partner and not a partner who is in love with another guy, and with sai also he is not in love it is like obsession , when a person get rejected serveral times the obession to own it , is what virat is feeling for sai, sai has rejected him and always told their marriage is a deal now she has become a challenge to him to own her.
He and jagpat are the same they harass sai because she didnot love them but only difference is one harrased her physically and another emotionally and mentally.
