Chapter 6: The name is Bond, James Bond

He had always been a good observer and had been proud of it, that habit of his didn't let anyone fool him easily, he knew all the gossips which were going around and he knew the truth about them too.

He was at the dancefloor, his eyes scanning the area for one person. He had finally found her, standing surrounded by her friends and admirers. He had walked up to her and excused himself and had asked her for a dance, she had accepted it. They were in the middle of the dancefloor when he heard a giggle, his trained eyes had spotted the source of it. It was Adi twirling an amused Geet, he observed that he wasn't the only person that had caught it on, there were many onlookers, some amazed and some jealous.

He was about to turn his eyes away from the duo when he saw Adi catch someone's eye, he scrunched his eyes trying to see whom he was signaling at but the person was sitting in the darkness of the bar. He saw Adi blink in reassurance to that person. They were now dancing to a slow number being played, he was so engrossed in trying to see the other person that he had lost sight of Adi. He saw that the couple were now dancing a little away from where they were but on keen observation he found that Adi was leading an unsuspecting Geet towards the exit. To onlookers they would look like any other couple who were dancing but he knew better.

Few more couples had joined the dance as the DJ had decided to play a new peppy song, he tched aloud as he realized that he had completely lost the couple in the crowd. He excused himself from the dancefloor while sincerely apologizing to his partner, he walked out making sure he caught no one's attention, he didn't want anyone to know that he was spying on people.

After a few wrongs turns he found them at the exact moment she squealed and jumped to hug Adi, who had laughed and hugged her back.

Interesting' he thought partly surprised. He followed her to her home without her knowledge, later that night when he was sure that everyone had slept he had snuck in towards her room, he could see through the slightly opened door that she had scribbled something in her diary. He crept into the room an hour later when he was sure that she was asleep, it was easier than he thought it would be, curiosity made him read the entry which was entered under today's date.

"I don't know where to begin my love for you. I wasn't adventurous, I didn't want to commit especially after learning how addictive you were. Boy! Did I fail! I was just like any other regular girl dreaming of my tall, dark and strong prince and did you deliver! Ah! As cliche as it sounds, I really wonder how I used to get on with my days without you...

There was a slight shuffling noise, Geet was shifting her sleeping posture so he hadn't read any further and got out of the room with his suspicions confirmed. He was proud that his spying skills were only next to James Bond himself and his deduction skills comparable to Sherlock.

The next day I was at a local cafe when I saw them again, they were sitting there discussing something, I was glad that they couldn't see me from where I sat. Geet had looked at her watch and mumbled something to Adi and walked out of the cafe, a few moments later Pinky had entered and took the seat opposite to Adi. Some time had passed when Adi went down on his knees and brought out a small box with a ring in it earning a gasp from Pinky and Geet who stood near the door of the cafe looking at them with a hint of tears in her eyes. He felt bad for her until he saw her grinning and running towards the now happy couple congratulating and engulfing them in a hug, confusing him to the core. WHAT WAS HAPPENING HERE???

He decided to sneak in to her room again to see how she really felt. It was 8 pm and she wasn't home yet, he was worried now. Just when he was about to call her up he saw the diary on the table. "I really wonder how I used to get on with my days without you... she had written, he continued reading it.

"It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows of course. Though it was love at first smell for me, I can't even keep count of how many times you burnt me. I'm ashamed of giving sugar too much importance too. Well, we are past that and stronger. I love the way you wake me up. Love the way you keep giving me strength to go on with my day. I could call you necessity but that would sound so ordinary and you are anything but. You, mi amore, are an indulgence. You bet your beans I'm going to indulge in you forever.

Perplexed he went through the lines again and again "Though it was love at first smell "I'm ashamed of giving sugar too much importance too "You bet your beans.... Wait a minute, this wasn't about Adi... it was about freaking COFFEE!, he realized. Thinking back towards the events of the previous day, now he was sure that the person in the shadows was Pinky who was signaling Adi to tell about them to Geet, and the hug was probably her reaction after she heard the news. The tears she had at the cafe were happy tears. It all seemed so obvious now.

Spying skills next to James Bond and deducing skills comparable to Sherlock my ass' he thought as he went to his room.

The name is Bond, James Bond: For those who haven't got it yet, it was Maan
