Chapter 5: May the Force be with us

A boy whom she recognized as her senior stood in front of her adjusting his glasses

Listen... hehehe, you've heard about the InterSchool competition, right? We have this...' he struggled to find the words extracurricular, you know quiz where it's all about books/movies and series and stuff?'

The Quzzicle' she had offered to answer and he had nodded a yes in response.

My partner fell ill, so I was wondering ifyouwouldgowithme' he had told in a single breath. She had understood exactly what he had told, as in one of her favorite series the protagonist had asked his crush out to the Yule Ball in a similar manner.

But why me?' she had asked,

I'll be honest with you' he had told, he was nervous and to her it seemed as if it had taken him every ounce of his courage left to make this conversation I had once seen you wear a Princess Leia t-shirt' he had mumbled adjusting his glasses again.

What she lacked in Maths and Physics, she had made up for them in her love for literature, movies and books.

Okay!' she had agreed.

I'm Geetika' she had forwarded her hand

Aditya' he had replied taking her extended hand.

The quiz was 2 days later, so they met up outside school to discuss about it. Adi, as she now had started addressing him was a transfer student from Kerala, at first, he seemed like a shy person but once she got to know him she learnt that he was a fun guy. They had won the quiz much to their surprise and a friendship had been forged between them.

May the Force be with us' he had told that day when they were leaving school.

PRESENT

Uhh... umm... Geetu right?' he had asked adjusting his glasses

He was no longer a shy-nervous boy with neatly oiled hair wearing a huge spectacles, he still wore glasses but they weren't as mammothic as they used to be, his hair looked gelled rather than oiled and you could say he was still a bit nervous and yet he had confidence too.

Can I have the dance with you?... or should I say "Wangoballwime , he had told with a mischievous smile.

Her face broke into a beautiful smile as she heard the lines from Harry Potter and it didn't take her a second guess to know that he was Adi, she took his extended hand accepting his offer. After dancing for a few minutes and updating each other about the on-goings in their life,

What are you upto these days?' Adi had asked.

I'll be joining The R&K as an intern somewhere around next week', at that he had given her a bemused smile and had told

Looks like the Force is still with us', before she could ask what he meant by it, he had twirled her so fast that all she could manage was giggle.

P.S: I know this is a short chapter, but i'll try and give another update this week😃
