Morning turned to evening and evening to noon...he couldn't come up with anything... he was leaning in the terrace when he saw geet having a walk in night and alone... he ran down and followed her. He shouted to geet to get her attention...

M: geet !!

G:Hey...officer,...what's up...!!

M:-fine! How are you...!

G: well alive and all fine till now(laughing)...so you called me out ...koi kaam tha?(some work??)

M(oh shit!!):no ...nahi...bas aise hi... saw you having a walk...socha join karlu...hope you don't mind...

G:no no...not at all...was just wanting to see the dunes(sand dunes) at night time...let's go

M:hmm lets go...after you...(acting all gentlemen)

Well they had the normal chat, talking about friends, family favourites, life, goals and what not... having a normal chat ...a deep conversation on a topic here and there... and than maan very tactfully brought up the topic of marriage...

M:so what do you think about getting ...,married...

Geet raised her brows at him...

M:I mean you have got your dream job...earning good...don't you want to get settled...i mean with your boyfriend or something...

Geet gave out a full hearted laugh

G: dude m single yaar...you think a person like me can actually have a boyfriend. Come on who would be interested in a girl like me who is so tomboyish...,has her on ideologies...her own thinking and so strong headed...a guy would never take up a girl like me...in short ...i m not a marriage material...

M: Hey! You are an amazing person...anyone would want you by their side...you just have some wrong opinions about yourself or you just happened not to meet the right person(maan thinking in mind "thankgod mujhse pehle koi nahi mila")

G: (serious) you think so??

M: hmm...it's the truth geet...

G: (mocking serious) will you marry me wolf guy...

M: (all shocked and dumbstruck)...(and at loss of words)

G: what cat got your tounge...

That bought maan out of his state of shock...

M: no...no...,I would anytime....

Geet not at all believing his words laughed...

G: you are very sweet. You kept my heart...(acting all dramatic)...Thanks...but i would pass...

M: what ...!! i m serious...

G: and i m a secret spy from Russia...lolj...

Maan giving his famous angry expressions...

G: ok ok no more jokes...

M: so ...am i not your type...

G: no...it's nothing like that...

I am not just sure...It is like ughhh!!.. I don't know ok...

It's cool hanging out with you, you seem a good listener, a good friend... but you see I have not given it a thought in that way... i have really never thought of getting married...it was never a goal of my life...

And please don't take offence from my words...This is the only question i have no answer to and besides I think any girl would be happy to get married to a man like you...

M: you think so...!

G:hmm..!!

And then silence fell over them...

M: well thanks...your last statement saved my heart from breaking...(trying to lighten the mood_)...

And both of them laughed out loud...

G: you know what wolf guy... I guess we can be friends and keep in contact, even after I leave...

It's good talking to you. I am leaving tomorrow...

Here this is my number stay in touch...After so many years ..I guess i would love to have an actual friend..

M:sure...And count me in!! This friend would never leave you(in his heart never ever...) or hurt you...

After sitting down for some more time and discussing random topics both returned back to their quarters...wished each other good night...

NEXT DAY

Next day morning, geet was putting her luggage in the jeep,some officer has offered her to drop her to the station. She then bid adieus to all other officers she has befriended...and then walked to our fallen guy who was all this time standing at the last...

M: so ja rahi ho Miss Handa...(Maan in all his teasing mood. He has made up his mind,how was he going to seek her...)...

G: hmmm wolf guy!! It was really good talking to you last night..

Keep in touch ...okay!!

M: same here...by the way what is this wolf guy you keep calling me...

G: well keep that for later...baad mein baat karne ko bhi to kuch hona chahiye...Am getting late...I need to leave...

M:hmm!! So how are you going to the station...

G: here Adi offered to drop me off...

M: (oh no...!!)Come i'll drop you off...Anyways I had to go there to take up some parcels...

G:ok!

Maan told Adi that he will drop geet off...

On the way to the station both were silent. But this silence was a good silence, a silence that was comfortable...A silence geet enjoyed having no know of...

They reached the station and maan helped geet loadging her stuff in the train. They still had a few minutes so they stood at the platform...Maan had no words to say and nor did geet...

And then came the time of parting...

M: (not wanting her to leave)... so you take care ..ok!! (strictly)

G: yaa...sure and you too...

Maan then suddenlly kissed her forehead..

M:take good care of yourself princess and keep in touch...We will meet soon...ok!!

And geet all stunned with the act of affection so simple yet so powerfull just nodded her head in positive...

M: your train is going to leave...bye

Geet came out of her trance and got up in the train...

And maan could'nt see her going. He turned and walked out of the station.
