Smriti Mandhana’s close friend and teammate Radha Yadav has quietly unfollowed Palash Muchhal on Instagram, adding a new layer to the conversation around the postponed wedding. The move caught attention soon after a wave of social media posts claimed that Smriti had also unfollowed Palash. Those claims were later checked and found to be incorrect. Smriti and Palash still follow each other on the platform.
Palash has been at the centre of online chatter ever since news broke that his wedding with Smriti had been put on hold. Both families stated that the decision came after Smriti’s father suffered a sudden health issue. At the same time, unverified claims about the music composer’s personal life started circulating online, creating more noise around the situation. In the middle of this, Radha’s decision to unfollow him drew quick attention from fans tracking updates closely.
Despite Radha’s step back, Palash continues to follow her. The discussion around their social media activity grew mostly because earlier reports claimed that Smriti had also unfollowed him. These turned out to be wrong, and the cricketer has not made any online move hinting at a fallout.
Amid rising speculation, Palash’s cousin Neeti Tak stepped in to address the growing narrative. She shared a short note urging people not to jump to conclusions. Her message read: “Palaash is going through a critical condition today, you all should not judge Palaash as wrong without knowing the truth… Technology today has come much ahead of humans, that is why people should not judge Palaash in the face of rumours… pray for him." Her post was one of the first public comments from his family since the postponement.
Palash and Smriti were supposed to get married on November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra. The celebration was called off after Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, reportedly developed chest discomfort and had to be taken to Sarvhit Hospital and Medical Research Centre. Doctors ran multiple tests before stabilising him, leading the family to cancel all plans.
The situation also affected Palash deeply. His mother told Hindustan Times that he shared a strong bond with Smriti’s father, and the news left him overwhelmed. She said he cried for hours and had to be kept under observation as a precaution, though his reports later came back normal.
